Class act...sad to see her retire.

I believe Amy is a biz grad with a major in accounting.

Maybe she'll obtain her CPA designation in her next career if she decides to return to the workforce.

Or maybe a golf instructor.

I was her pickleball partner for a game when the tour was in Toledo, OH. She's really good! Maybe she'll go that route.

Nice story.

 

She was in one of the recent (2021?) preliminary US Solheim squads and attended a team building exercise with the rest of them before the team was finalised (she didn't make the final team).

 

They did a lot of competitive team building sports and apparently Amy was the star, naturally good at everything.

 

Maybe the sports included pickleball.

There are currently 16 players averaging over 270 yds off the tee. Auston is averaging 280. Ten years ago there were 2 players averaging 270 yds or more.

 

The median driving distance this year is 258 yds. Ten years ago it was 248.

Amy has always been a class act and one of the great human beings in this world.  Her deep seeded faith transcends everything she does and how she carries herself.  She realized a couple of years ago that golf wasn't as important to her as other parts of her life and now, as a mother, she felt it was time to move on.

Any stats on average course lengths being played now compared to ten years ago?  Technology has helped but are these 16 players also on average taller and bigger ladies? or are most players becoming more stronger through better nutrition and fitness.....

I wonder how much interest in Korea there will be next week for the Aramco Team Series (New Korea Country Club) with only four Koreans in the field. Headlining the field for them will be RR#12 Hyo-Joo Kim and I guess DK will have a following but she appears to have some issues ATM. It's also up against the KLPGA NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship at the Suwon Country Club.

I don't see any significant changes in course length. Seems they're still moving up tees on a regular basis. Majors are still playing longer. 

 

This year's Chevron played at 6824 yards. In 2015 the ANA at Mission Hills played at 6,769 yards.

Looks like Trackman has finally published some new stats. Average driver carry is 223 yds, which still seems low given that the LPGA Tour median drive was 257 yds in 2023. Are they really averaging 34 yds of rollout?

95 mph driver speed, 225 carry, 250 total

@Lobby You're either a savant with an eidetic memory ... or a keen follower of either Paige Spiranac or Ian/Club Champion!

I spend time here on the lpga side bc there’s a lot of smart people here

 

When I read something that intrigues me , I tend to unintentionally file it away.

Nelly going for #6. Lydia looking for the HOF and just noticed golf channel is not carrying any live broadcast coverage of the Founders. Only a couple of hours delayed in the evening. Live coverage is via app streaming only. Outside America will be live on regular channels.
