Bounce is Your Friend on Partial Wedge Shots and Engaging the Turf Prior to the Ball is a Good Thing When Hitting Them

Yes you have no clue. And no one’s reading this thread because of you. Must be fun to be a hangeron.

Lol, what keeps these threads interesting is that you and your buddy keep us guessing as to whether you are trolling or are simply a sandwich short of a picnic.

You’re consistently infuriatingly incorrect with a suitably smug Dunning-Kruger attitude, which elicits responses to keep the threads going, so props for that I guess.

Some late night insights for those curious. H8rs and gurus welcome too! Some ninja sh*t happening

if you pay attention.

Need R2L back! Had to cut begin and end short for video size as I was just trying to just hit a shot but ended up talking to myself lol. Remember how you, where, and when you stress or don’t stress the shaft is everything when it comes to owning the ball. The rest is business and onions to peel away.

User warning: my feels may be real, or maybe not? Only the gurus can tell you!!!

lol my half inch carpet off hardwood has less forgivness than your mats. i put a video of it up and hit a 3 yard baby flop ground first as soft as you possibly could. I doubt you or any of the others can hit that shot. Hitting that shot takes 100% commitment of what you're doing. Hitting that shot early from 80 yards is a breeze in comparison.

why not let average golfers have a larger variance of attack angles by learning bounce. you'll stop hitting the real bad ones and the days that your mind (or markets) are syncing to blend the math with turf bounce loft yard etc.. then you capitalize. pretty fool proof to me.

So your newest hot take is that a teaching professional who has posted multiple videos showcasing his ability cannot pull off the mess you're recommending yet amateurs still trying to figure out the game who stumble onto this thread should take your & R2L's advice on technique? Advice such as 'entering the turf 6" behind the ball' or 2" or 1" that neither of you manage to demonstrate reliably in the videos you post? Advice that contradicts the physics involved in hitting a golf ball?

You know they lost the argument when the name calling starts or continues. First it the haters for disagreeing and now the hangerons.

im sure the 7k reading this thread are not interested in my spewing lol.

For starters, this spectacle of a thread has 7k views. Not 7k viewers. 🙄

Those of us who remain committed to it are witness to a somewhat rare and stupefying event - the formation of a legendary thread. We're captivated by it, knowing that one day we'll be able to reflect back and say that we were there when it happened.

Edit: And I suspect I speak for a few others when I say that we're also amazed and impressed by Erik's patience and resilience.

Too

Some slomo stills of last nights video. Though something cool was going on. Need the golf physics data exchange to open on Sundays to measure.

Sounds like you have experience. Maybe you could replicate or show a 60* fringe runner.

Sounds like a bladed wedge to me….useful shot when on the fringe and back against the rough.

This weeks troll is back!  not sure when I’ll get board of this. Probably next week when I get to FL and hit some Bermuda. First is the back foot edge of disaster shot. Middle would be the ideal way to perform it. Last is just more nip tuck floaters to nasty flags.

It's mostly just boredom. 🙂

First take before Junior Elite this morning:

AoA on shots when I do this tends to be about -6°. Launch is typically around or just north of 60° depending on exactly what I'm trying to do, and spin is pretty low - this ball stops quickly via trajectory.

So, almost the opposite of what you were showing when you kicked the grip end out and the clubhead fell down. In that, we had two linear movements (the grip went a club length horizontally, the club head fell down a clubhead length vertically, with 90° of rotation plus the double translation. In this the grip is remaining in place and the clubhead is rotating around the grip, so we have 180° of rotation with no linear translation. You don't even know what you're posting anymore.

this is getting old. how about a 100 yd shot hitting behind the ball using bounce otherwise you are pissing in the wind

I look forward to hearing about the multiple major championship titles in a few weeks' time.

You sound mad bro. 73% of the time par or better this year. I didn't shoot par until after college, didn't break 70 until I was 26, didn't get to a plus cap until 30 and have shot below 65 in tournaments 5x. Would you like a piece of those results? Not bad working full time.

Believe it or not when you break 65 twice in the same week and the majority of your other scores are under par you will drop to a +4. Some huge variance between +2 and +4 I'm not seeing?
