I agree. I asked them about it and they are actually going to limit the options to just a 35". Other companies have a small range of ones to choose from. I ended up going custom, so I did more custom stuff that I didn't really need, but my previous Mezz Max was an off the shelf 33".

did you just ruin the discount for all of us who fit into 34" putters?

I'll be able to give you my first impressions sometime tomorrow assuming FedEx does its part and delivers my custom DF3 tomorrow (which has an Accra shaft).    As mentioned above, I have a stock DF3 (steel shaft) now that have a very high opinion of.     I'll give my first impressions here.

Ok.. my custom DF3 came today which has the accra shaft.   It also has the heavier head and is 0.5" longer and is 1 more degree upright than the stock steel shafted DF3 I compared it against.

So.. between the steel shaft and the accra shaft, there isn't much of a difference imo with my limited testing.   The biggest difference was that the head could be felt more with the Accra vs. the steel shaft.   You might point out (correctly) the accra shafted version has the heavier head, so that might account for at least part of it but I'm not sure it accounts for all of it.    In respect to putting feel,  The accra might be "softer" compared to the other graphite shaft options, but not so much vs. the steel shaft.   The feedback is a little better in the Accra, but I had to mis-hit quite a bit off the toe or heel to find out.

This testing was only done for an hour in my indoor sim putting surface, with a longest possible putt of 11'.    Both versions are spectacular.    Would I order the Accra again?  I'm not sure...it is a nice shaft but I think I would stay with the steel or roll the dice on the TPT.   I prolly would want to hunt a TPT down first to see for myself though.

Just placed my order for a DF3 CB TPT shaft, red head, heavy.

Tried out the DF3 stock putter at PGASS yesterday.  Felt really good.  Considering the price, I sure hope I love this putter.

Current putter is a Taylormade daddy long legs - been using it for over 10 years. I have purchased four putters since I bought the daddy longs and have sold them all, always come back to the taylormade.

Interested in any thoughts on going with the Press 3deg instead of the pistol.  I don't personally care for the pistol and prefer the Press 3deg like my 2.1.  Looking side by side the depth of onset appears pretty similar, but with the pistol as the stock and set up as 2deg it must be less onset for the DF3.

I like how the 3deg aligns your thumbs to the putter face as shown in the pic below.  I assume with the Press 3deg your hands are farther ahead (more press) paired with DF3, which gives me just a bit of hesitancy since you can't roll this set up before ordering.  Haven't seen this discussed much, so interested in any comments from those who have had similar thoughts.

Honest question… if a putter has zero torque is there really any benefit to an upgraded shaft? I know feel is subjective but I’m talking performance.

I have a 2.1 with the 3deg grip, and checked out the DF3 at PGASS the other day. I absolutely noticed the difference in the grip at first, pushed every putt to the right. Once I figured that out, the DF3 felt almost identical to the 2.1, with similar results.

I have posted my feelings on this in a few places, and I apologize to those who are re-reading my thoughts:

I have waaay too many LABs, and I have broomsticks and standards with all of the various shafts.  My verdict:

The TPT is incredible.  The feedback is unparalleled - you can feel where exactly on the face you strike the ball, while maintaining excellent results on mis-hits.  I agree with LAB’s description of it being the best putter shaft ever made.  It’s so, so damn good.

The Accra feels soft and doesn’t offer much feedback, but again it performs great.  It’s an awesome upgrade (especially on broomsticks/arm locks) for $100.  But when I hit a TPT VS an Accra, the difference in feedback is insane.  I WILL say that it’s nuts how soft a block of aluminum can feel when attached to a an Accra - it puts polymer inserts to shame.  If you want a soft-feeling putter, look no further.

Is your experience coming from a standard length, CB/arm lock, or a broomstick?

Unfortunately I can't use it right now. It's still in a box as I'm away on the road for work and was delivered after the initial delivery date.

In production today

Black, combo B+G alignment, stock steel

I know that I am doing something wrong. Do you get the combo alignment on the selection page or just make the comment on your order. I can't seem to select two alignments at the same time (looking at the B+G as well - almost seems like it should be a stock offering).

I added whichever one cost $25 to my cart (G I think), so that the dollars would be accurate. And then in the order notes section I asked them to combo with B.

two or three days later I got an email from them, confirming that they saw it and it was updated on my account.

Got mine yesterday, absolutely love it beyond words. Went with 35", heavier weight, TPT shaft.

For reference I bought a stock version while I was waiting to mess around with and loved it.

I didn't think too much of it at the time but I definitely prefer the heavier weight (although it's a very small difference and I've always liked heavier putters in general), it makes it more comfortable and natural for me to let gravity do the work.

First impressions of the TPT shaft are very high. Need a lot more time on the practice green but it has a nice quiet and muted feel to it. I absolutely agree with people who have said it has amazing feedback. With the stock shaft I could definitely tell when I mishit it and where, with the TPT it's extremely clear what happened but it doesn't feel terrible like mishits do with steel. It also looks amazing. Is it worth $400? Almost certainly not lol, but I like it a lot. Being comfortable and confident with the putter you have is priceless

I can’t speak to the TPT shaft, but I have a MEZZ Broomstick with the Accra shaft and a DF3 with the stock shaft.  If they were the same length and you blind folded me, then told me to hit a few putts, I wouldn’t be able to tell you which was which

Appreciate your insight. I know it will be personal preference, but it seems excessive to need a $400 shaft when you're buying a putter with zero torque. I asked LAB the question and they said the TPT helps the shaft axis from twisting and pairs well with the head axis that (their zero torque balancing) addresses. Don't get me wrong if it were free I'd say give me a TPT all day, I'm just not educated on shaft twist/torque enough to see value in it right this moment. My mind could easily be changed, but I'll never be able to test one for myself so looking for others to chime in based on experience.
