LAB DF3 Order is in!

Almost got the exact same! Just did TPT and the small T and the single line all the way to the back.

For me, there were just too many good reviews about people actually saying they felt the difference. That and it’s the most used and club that I need to most help in. So I figured it was a no Brainer honestly

Ordered 2/5...delivery was originally scheduled for 2/28 but got held up a day. A great surprise considering I was mentally prepared to wait the full 6 weeks.

Has anyone compared the length of a DF3 to a same length spec Scotty? I’ve got a 35 inch Scotty that measured 34.5 at CC. Apparently Scotty measures differently butt to sweet spot. So curious if equivalent DF3 would be a 35 or 34.5.

Yes, it got here 2 days early on Tuesday.  The weight feels great and on the course I hit all but one of my start lines.  Its static weight is heavy but not too heavy in a swing weight.  Mine is 33” 74* lie angle. 

 

It looks levels better behind the ball than the DF2.1.  

Now if only this thing could help predict inconsistencies on verticut winter greens…

From the LAB Facebook group (yes, I'm a nerd) 

 

Standard 350g-360g

Heavy 360g-370g

Light 340g-350g

 

I know there is some variance based on how they have to balance it for the shaft and grip choice but those should be the target ranges. I've seen these numbers posted there a few times so I'm somewhat confident they are accurate. Not sure if there is any change in target weight for CB or arm lock.

So my GG finally got there’s in. Wow, wow, wow. 
 

This thing is crazy stable and I absolutely love the way the T Line frames the ball. The DF3 for me just sets up so much more square than the Mezz Max which for me just looks shut for some reason. I personally find that putting the ball position super far forward almost the edge of my left 🥜 was perfect. Rolled about 9 straight 15 footers in and had 2 people ask me about the putter afterwards 🤣

Thought I would share a picture and some weight info from mine.  Received it this week. 
 

Went with the platinum finish and am very pleased with how it turned out with the white Accra shaft. I have a Mezz Max in standard weight, and felt it was a little too heavy and caused some distance control problems. So actually went lightweight on the DF3. Total weight came to 538 grams on the DF3 compared to 548 on the Mezz Max.

Spent 30 minutes today rolling a 34” DF3 and I loved it! Had my DF 2.1 Broom with me to go “head to head”. Love the DF3 for sure. Feels much, much better than the 2.1 and faster too. A DF3 Broom would be crazy good. My Broom is safe, but man a regular length DF3 was money.

I do think the DF3 feels better than my DF2.1. More solid feeling and less tingy.

Was able to try out the Df3 in a GG this weekend

I know it's probably just my set up etc, but I wasn't hitting anything from any distance

Very interestig head shape for sure, and still seems quite big

Was able to play 9 holes today (55 degrees in Boston) and try out the DF3 outside on my home course. The greens were slow but I still only had 13 putts in 9 holes. Either I made the putt or had a tap in. Part of that was that my chipping was on point today. Felt and sounded great and hit my line every time. It's a N = 1 but pretty excited about the early returns.

Update- absolutely in love with this thing. Putting has never been easier. Can’t wait for my CB to arrive so I can pick which one is staying in the bag

Sam, are you on here by chance? How much does the CB head weigh? I cannot imagine it is 360 to 370? What does the CB weight itself weigh? We need more info please.

First time on the course with the DF3 after exclusively putting on a mat indoors, and I'm very impressed.

 

Playing in a lot of wind today and I missed a ton of greens, so scrambling for most of the day. Ended up with 15 putts on the front 9, 16 on the back 9, two 3-putts from across the green, and I think 8 1-putts. Obviously the lag putting needs some work and I haven't been able to practice with it yet but from 6-10 feet the putter was automatic. I've never made them that consistently. I even gave it to my playing partner for a 12 foot birdie putt and it lipped out.

 

The confidence this has from that range is incredible. Just need to work on distance control as I left a ton of lag putts short (could also be very slow, soft, winter greens).

 

Edit: looking back through stats for the round I made 87.5% of putts within 5 feet, and 57% of putts between 5-10 feet.

So stupid question, I actually changed my order and added the TPT shaft the 23rd. Friday I got an email saying “your order has been complete” but it was only for the shaft. Does that mean they just pulled the shaft and it’s in production or the whole thing is built?

Played my first round with the DF3 this weekend. Had zero 3 putts and Arccos had my putting handicap equivalent to a +1. Only missed twice all day from inside 10 feet, both due to misreads on tricky cross grain slopes. My biggest fear from hearing others experience with LAB was developing the ability to lag it, but I found consistency with it right away. Not the longest first putts in the world (17' average, 5x ~20', 2x ~35', 1x ~45'), but will still take no three-putting from there every day of the week.
