LAB DF3 Order is in!

Damn you all. Went to PGATSS yesterday and rolled DF3. Custom ordered today. Sigh.

Gents, help me out if you can. I'm deciding alignment aids on the DF3. i don't do lines or dots, so what's next best thing to keep it "neutral"  aim wise? Unfortunately nowhere to try except local pga SS with a T on top line. thank you.

If you dont do lines or dots just get one without anything on top.

Well thanks to @wchahn and @KensingtonPark I called LAB today and completely change my order 🤣 

 

36” counter balance, heavy head, alignment C + G, TPT shaft and blue with a superstroke grip

Man I got super lucky. Was chosen as one of the winners to demo/review the DF 3.0. I also have one on order ( pre-giveaway ) that should be going to Production soon.

 

Ordered one with the red head and white Accra shaft.

 

Now have one coming for the review with the blue head and black TPT shaft.

My bad. DF3, black, standard T alignment I used in PGATSS. Accra black shaft. If I love the head shape, I may end up swapping TPT from my Mezz Max to the DF3.

Yes- take a look at Sam's videos about using LAB. Ball position may be a bit more forward than you are used to. Focus on hitting your lines. Best drill is putting on a yard stick. If you can roll the ball straight you have your face square. You can also use a Devil Ball from PuttOUT. Similar concept. All you will need to think about after lining up is the length of your stroke.

I need to get off of here because on Monday I used my answer 2 copy with a basic steel shaft and no alignment lines to only have 25 putts, and yet I am considering ordering a broomstick DF3 with a tpt in March. This is bad for my bank account...

My DF3 (71 degree, 34”, TPT, heavy, black) arrived. Ordered Jan 20 with priority 3-day shipping. 3 notes:

1. I love the wide flat spot on the sole. Makes it easy to feel when the putter is lying exactly flat (i.e., not toe-up or toe-down), at least on a hard floor or putting mirror. My 5.5 phantom has more of a curved sole so I never know when it’s flat.

2. I appreciate LAB’s flexibility in combining a couple of the different alignment marks. Mine is B+G. 

3. For those who like to keep track of weight, I asked for “heavy” and comes in around 588g with the TPT shaft and a Press No. II 3 degree grip.

Received an email today saying the putter has been completed and the shipping label printed. So order 1/26, in production on 2/12, completed 2/21, estimated delivery 2/26. So if that holds true it would have been quoted at 5-6 weeks and delivered at 4.5 weeks.

What's the recommended ball position with the DF3? Just inside the front foot?

Did they charge you double, 50 bucks, for the C and G alignment--or only 1 charge?

Been a big fan of red for alignment on my DF2.1 and Mezz Max I have… believe Sam has mentioned it is best for contrast to the greens to make sure putter is square. Anyone have any other feedback on some color options?  Trying to figure out if I’d like to switch colors when the broom comes out

Probably the same as with DF 2.1: Make sure the shaft tip is in the center of your stance

My customer order came in yesterday. The order was placed on 2/1, went into production on 2/9 and shipped on 2/20. 

I will post some pictures and initial thoughts once I get it outside this weekend.
