I did order at 35.25” length, not sure if that makes it more difficult to get the weights right

I was a little nervous after going into PGASS and trying out a standard 35" / standard lie DF3 and not loving it (the remote fitting had me at 39" and 72* upright, so pretty different). Well, I received my CB 40" version in the mail on Friday and just freaking love the thing. I've been putting lights out with the jailbird, but this feels like a clear improvement. As someone who tries to go straight back and straight through (knowing that isn't possible but as a feel), the lack of twisting in the back swing feels incredible. I completely see how people rave about how much more they hit their start line with LAB putters. Really, really happy with this order.

dumb question but what color head did you order?

Mine got here today.  It feels almost identical to the DF 2.1 with a smaller form factor.  I ordered the heavier option with the BGT One.  
 

I will run them side by side on a quintic vs my Odyssey Seven with BGT fire at some point and post it here.

Just a heads up. Sounds like LA golf and LAB partnership is done. Hearing rumblings that LAB ended the partnership with LA and is actually calling customers to inform them if they selected a LA shaft to switch to something else.

I agree 100%.  Black would be more aesthetically pleasing.  

 

The pistol grip is the only way i could go back to them.  My DF 2.1 collected dust for 1.5 years until they started selling it.

Can you give some size comparison on the Pistol, maybe to SuperStroke or another brand?

Like any good red blooded GolfWRXer I’m in search of the holy equipment grail.  I have been paying attention to this forum, YouTube and Facebook postings about L.A.B. putters as of recent.  I even went so far as to do a virtual fitting which recommended 35 inch length and 71 degree lie angle.  

 

My next step in my quasi-scientific quest was to put time in with my current three putters on my PuttOut putting matt and pressure trainer. (All 34 inches with a 70 degree lie angle and face balanced):  Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Triple Wide, Odyssey Two Ball Triple Track and PXG Bat Attack.  I paid attention to how much I had to “manipulate” each one.

 

I then went to my local PGA SS (Myrtle Beach, SC) for a test drive of the Direct Force 2.1, DF3, Mezz.1, Mezz.1 Max and Link.1 putters. I liked them all.  Why did I like them all?  First, they all put a most excellent roll on the ball. Second, the technology of lie angel balance just plain works.  I could put an even tempo pendulum putting stroke with each and the results were identical.  I did not have to make any manipulation of the putter at all.  

 

The result: I decided on the DF3 (as the shape suits my eye) in red with a black ACCRA shaft and a simple three line alignment aid.

Yeah the LA Golf shafts have been taken down off the website.

 

I can honestly tell anyone who cares that the TPT is superior (my opinion) for the same price.  Waaaay better feedback.  Hopefully even more people will go TPT going forward because of this.  Honestly I have been temped to install TPTs shafts on my next set -

I am so impressed with them.

IIRC it felt like it was between a Super Stroke Pistol 1.0 and 2.0 but more towards the 2.0 side.  I think it feels more premium than the super stroke too - SS grips always felt cheap to me

My DF3 ordered from Tysons West just came in today. Ordered on 2/4. Wish I could have changed the alignment marks to a combination of C+G but it had already shipped out. Love the feel and like the alignment marks that I ended up with. Can't wait to actually get out to the course to use it but feels so good on the practice mat inside.

For the people the have the 2.1 and 3, does the alignment aid on the 3 seem more grey now? The lines on the 2.1 are pure white and my new DF3 is more of a dull white. Curious to see if it was just mine.

Can anyone compare the width difference between the SS 3.0 vs Garsen Tour 17”. I know how big the 3.0 is but didn’t know where the Garsen sat in the SS line

#6 alignment with TPT shaft and press 1.5.

 

I emailed them but their auto reply says it might be 3-4 days before I get a reply.

I am so impressed with them.  

 

At least you are assured of a true to spec round shaft with TPT (entirely machine made and consistent). Can't say that about the others and that may be the reason LAB took it off - some shafts were not to spec (but that is my speculation).

Interested to hear thoughts on the Accra with DF3.  I like the softer feel with my 2.1 but read so much praise for the TPT.  Hard to ignore the $300 delta between the two...

I will say, I originally had a CB build with  the 3.0 SS 17” grip and the Accra. But after all the raving reviews on the TPT I decided to go with the Garsen and the TPT because I felt since it isn’t as thick the feedback and response will feel outstanding. Because to be the thickness of the 3.0 super stroke felt like it would take away from the feel

So I just did my online fitting and I was fitted to a 35" 67* DF3. If I decided to purchase stock, so 35" 69*, would I notice? I've never been fit for a putter before and this is my first LAB. Curious if anyone else has experience going stock when their fitting didn't line up that way.

Your putter is by far the most used club in your bag. Why cheap out and change?

Good point! I think I'll go custom, but just wanted to weight the options.
