LAB DF3 Order is in!

Got the putter in yesterday and love it so far.

 

The alignment and having the ball so far forward is taking some getting used to but I'm really impressed by how straight the ball rolls off of the toe and heel.

 

I also had somewhat of a realization this morning after doing thumbs off drills. Does anyone else feel like their hands and wrist almost go completely limp during the swing? I tried this and just rotating shoulders with my elbows tucked and I clicked 4 in a row on my Puttout from 7 ft out.

They are definitely speeding up production. Ordered through Tysons West on 2/4 and it is scheduled to arrive at their shop on 2/26.

Have a DF2.1 regular length, and putting way less terribly than my usual... but realise broomstick is my last and i suspect best option (have tried armlock before).

 

Just been testing for length again with a 5 wood and a 21 deg Super Hybrid... i'll be going with 43" length I reckon - am 6ft tall, play irons +1/2", but prefer a bit more bent over at address putting so hence 43".

 

Was going to get the 'T' alignment... but a pic from @manVSgolf with his DF3 collection with the 'V' has me changing my mind (in boring black though), and saving up for the TPT shaft 😉

Cannot for the life of me decide on an alignment marking. Ordered with the standard small T marking, but considering making a change. First LAB putter any advice on a go to marking? Wish I could try different variations in person.

I putted with one of these today at PGA TSS. I’ve been a lifelong NP/NP2 user, but I’m about to order a custom once I figure out color, line, and shaft. It’s insane how easy it is to make the ball go straight. I’ve always been a feel putter, so I’m curious to see how that’ll carry over with this.

I don’t have PGASS in my town. Do the store models offer the TPT shaft? Curious to see if you’re going to go with one with all the great reviews

Will do!

 

They didn’t have anything other than 35” steel shafted putters sadly. I’m thinking I’m going to go TPT, but I’m on the fence since it quickly turns into a $900 putter.

Stores I've seen were all stock - 35 inches, steel shaft, short T line (which I liked in my original DF)

I ordered and then waited a few days to do the remote fitting video.

 

I suspect it will be Blue Cobalt DF3, Short T Line, 35 inches, 69 lie, Heavier Head (15g), TPT Shaft, Press II 3 deg smooth grip.

 

I chose the slightly wider grip to help take out the temptation of my hands and wrists. I am a shoulder only putter. The Press II is 78g while the Pistol is 58g so to balance the weight difference, I wanted a bit more head weight.

I think you will get it by Wednesday. I ordered 2/2, in production 2/14, and shipped 2/21. Estimated delivery this Wednesday to the East Coast.

Did you specifically ask for the extra 15grams or is that what the difference is with the chosen grip since its heavier compared to the pistol? I ordered Heavy with same grip for my DF3. I dont have a PGASS close by but the GG had the DF2.1 with that grip and I really like how it sits in the hands and takes the wrists out of the stroke, at least for me.

I currently putt with Mezz Max TPT shaft. I felt the DF3 with steel shaft at PGATSS felt better. Ordered DF3 with Accra Black.

When I sent in my remote fitting, I asked about the heavier weight and 15g because in their FAQ when talking about the Mezz, they say:

 

"For a standard putter, the target for heavier or lighter is +/-15 grams from standard."

 

NOW I BELIEVE they have not updated the FAQ to include the DF3, so I asked about it -- and asked when the fitter reviews my vid and data to give me a call.

On pure strikes, they feel similar; however, it's much easier to get a pure strike with the DF3. The DF3 is much more forgiving than the MEZZ.

Walked into my local store today to order a couple sm10s. Ordered them. I can’t just leave so I checked out some putters. To my surprise, they had 1 DF3(black steel shaft/small T alignment/34”)  I was excited to get to try it. Rolled it…felt/sounded great. Ball had a great looking roll. Rolled it against my gamer. The DF3 was better. Really like the way the putter looks at address. Straight and flat. Easy to aim. I had the mezz max broomstick. Wasn’t for me. Shaft is so soft. This one is so good.

If you haven’t read any posts about it the stock quick ship option is so good. I prefer the steel shaft to the composite upgrade shafts. I had the Accra, I think the steel feels better. Just my opinion.

Good question- a) wanted to try the feel of the Accra which many say is softer.  b)didn't want to wait too long to send my putter back, etc. I may send them back to be swapped in the future.

 Ordered my 2/8, production 2/19, shipped yesterday.  Gonna make it just in time for my OBX golf trip.
