6 weeks lead time. I cancelled my order. I’m a solid putter and wanted to try one, but no shot in waiting that long unless it’s a true custom putter. Hopefully down the road they hire more staff to keep up with demand.

I hear you.  I am going to wait it out but the lead time is brutal.  I get they are a small operation with very high standards (which I appreciate) but wish the lead time was half.

Why would you even place the order if it says expect 5-6 weeks in bold writing at the top of the page? Lmao

Wait times have only gone up throughout the DF3 release. It was originally 3-4 weeks just not too long ago. I had to delay my order due to fitting conversations in which takes a couple of days each time to get a response.

Guessing you're going to have L.A.B. about that

Yeah, agreed. Just to add context here so that anyone that may have a similar question later has the info..

I had emailed LAB requesting a standard silver steel shaft and not matte black and I was told that is not an option. I did not ask about removing the matte finish as I assumed they would not support at home projects on their products.

Does anyone know what the steel shaft LAB uses is? I may buy one separately and see if the finish is easily removed before obviously trying an experiment like that on an actual putter.

It’s an X100 shaft, I believe. They used to use KBS shafts, but they had a hard time getting them.

Played my first 18 holes with the DF3 in the bag. Conditions were tough as we had a lot of rain and loosing balls due to being plugged in the fairways were a real possibility, yes I did lose one!

37 points in a stableford format with one pick up hole due to not being able to find the ball. 25 putts overall for the round but I did have a lot of good chips after missing greens.
Putter performed magnificently though and playing partners all wanted to try after finishing up the round.

They've been seeing a pretty big uptick in orders with the added success of the putters and overall positive reviews from publications. Pretty easy to find whatever in the LAB facebook group though, tons of for sale posts. I'm lucky to fit into stock specs and was able to get a df3 for a song, best putter i've ever rolled. Literally hits your line every single time.

This early in golf season, 6 weeks is not long to me... but everyone is different. It's taken about a week of practice with the putter and drills with theputtingstick to switch from traditional putting and controlling the face to relaxing with the DF3. It's been a eye opening conversion

Anyone know if a df3 requires special equipment to bend? Considering picking up a stock one and getting it bent but the lab adjustment prices are insane. Could a regular club builder do it?

If your asking about adjusting the lie, per Calvin at LAB it can't be done.

Did they explain why? They offer plenty of lie angle options for custom. Seems ridiculous you have to pay $200 to modify a stock putter or pay an extra $100 plus wait 6 weeks to get the lie angle adjusted a few degrees when the whole point of the putter is to have the right lie angle.

Here's his exact words:

Unfortunately we can't change the lie angle of a DF 3 since the shaft is drilled directly into the putter. That can't be altered or change.

How’s the DF3 roll and feel compare to the OG 2.1? I love these putters and have had several, but my only issue was the dead feel coming off the face of the 2.1. I was hoping if they made a new version that it would be a bit hotter off the face. I’m looking at getting a broomstick but didn’t know if I should wait on the DF3 or go ahead since there’s a significant wait time currently.

The lie angle needs to be pre-determined before the putter is built. If you attempted to change it (which I don't think is possible in the first place), you would be altering the weighting and defeating the purpose of a lie angle balanced putter

I know the feeling you're referring to, and the DF 3 comes off the face much faster than the DF 2.1 did. Sound is worlds better as well. I'm the least patient club ho on the planet, so I'm in no position to give advice on waiting, but I'd try and wait for the DF 3 broomstick if I were you. The DF 3 is just better in every single way compared to the 2.1. I posted a video of the sound comparison in the member review thread.

Can anyone who has the press II 1.5° on their DF3 report on their experience?  I have a Mezz1 Max with the press II 1.5 and like the feel better than the pistol 2° so I went with it on my DF3 order.  Just wondering if the marginal (.5°) difference in grip offset will make a real difference.  I’m guessing the press II 1.5° will play virtually the same as the pistol 2°.  Just wondering if anyone has experience with the press II 1.5° / DF3 combo specifically.

Mine will be here early next week at the latest. I will report back. I'm actually likely ordering a pistol 2° as i think i will want to switch to that grip

I agree with @coreyhr

Night and day difference between the 2.1 and DF3. I know the original performs great and has its devotees, but I think the DF3 performs just as well, feels livelier and is so much better sized IMO. If you get a chance to roll them back to back it’s easy to tell. It’s a very smooth putter, ball rolls off nicely and it feels nice. I’ve tried it 3 or 4 times now and nothing has put me off. Only thing I noticed is I like the steel shaft better than the graphites. Just a feel preference. I took the plunge and ordered a custom DF3 — red head, 34 inch, matte black steel shaft, 2 degree pistol grip, alignment option P.
