Ive hit this and its exactly what was needed coming from the last model. Its a little wider back to front and sets up with a little more confidence than the older one with a hair more offset and bigger profile. It just looks like you can smash it! Wonder if it will come in Black eventually

Want half that..... industry is wack about offset.... like everyone needs the same help for some reason.  All the tech will provide plenty of height.... dont need offset specially for better players that prob play that club vs chops that prob play a wood or hybrid anyways

I hear you. Interestingly the irons would probably be the last addition for me. Excluding this driving iron, which could easily go in the bag. Hybrids are superb.  Woods feel great, with enough adjustability to figure it out, and the wedges and putters also perform well.

Looks more like the original gen 2 DI. May be forgiving but a touch too big IMO. Will probably keep my G5 DI for now.

Out of curiosity, what is it about the irons you don’t get along with?

I just put this club in my bag.  18 degree of launch and I have a tour AD shaft in it.  I’m averaging 195-210 off the deck w this club but what I love about it is that it launches high and holds greens very well.  My hybrids don’t stick to greens as good so it’s a very good club for me.  Sound and feel is suburb as well.  Cannon.

They are the best PXG has ever made. The drivers don't lag behind in any category any longer. The standard Black Ops is very forgiving and long with the Tour-1 being low spin and very adjustable

Nothing at all. They make excellent clubs. The irons were their first clubs they came out with, and what I associate first with the brand.   I could easily game the irons.

Had the Gen4 X for a hot minute; liked the feel but was hoping for a bit more forgiveness.  This looks like it would be the one.  

 

Slight side note, for us Canucks up here golf town will carry PXG starting this spring.  Hoping all clubs are available for demo.

I like the look of this a lot - I would definitely give it a shot. $25 for an hour fitting is more than reasonable esp since I am always tinkering with that 7 wood/long iron slot.

 

I talked a lot of crap about PXG when they first came on the scene. Some deserved, some probably not. But when I went in for a fitting last spring when they were offering their free fittings - their irons just performed. They just do. I put them in the bag and dont regret it. Cost was right around what Ping/Titleist wanted. You can not like the look of the irons or the driver sound but I dont think you can argue any more that their stuff works. 

 

$179 for this? I'lll give it a shot.

Just put my preferred shaft in. Hit some in the sim and it is fantastic. Will be on course with it later today.

I will second this.  Did a fitting for driver and 3 wood last weekend.  It was more out of curiosity to what they could do.  Very impressive, especially on mishits.  I had the Gen 2 driver and 3 wood a few years ago.  They were go and have since moved to the AeroJet driver and TEE C722 3 wood.  Black OPs was significantly better than both and never thought I would say that.  Now have to decide if I want to pony up more money.

Out on course yesterday, got to say I'm a little disappointed. I'll give it another go next week when its warm again, range at my course will still be closed for a while unfortunately. Might be just the winter swing getting me but I still prefer my Gen4 at the moment.

Love this thing! Stuck a ventus black 10tx in it and its a missle launcher. Great feel and looks great at address as well. Can flight it without issue. It’s firmly in the bag!

I think their designs are looking much better each release, the prices are more and more reasonable, and I think the tech is improving.
