Time to update my wedges and have it narrowed down to Vokeys, T24 and putting these Pings on my list to try.

Amy comparisons between the 3..looking for someone who has tested them on grass.

I have had the SM10's in play for about two weeks, and all positive results with them.  Will be getting the S159's on Friday and will take them out-weather permitting for some side by side comparisons on grass.    Don't have the the T24 and likely won't have a demo of it.

What wedges did you use prior to the SM10s?

It will be my primary bunker club, and I like a lot of bounce and a bit wider soles for those shots or out of some deep greenside rough.

I went with a 60* B in 8 degrees for tighter lies and short sided chips around the green.

A combo of SM8 and SM9,  but matched the specs of the SM10 below

What shaft is everyone going with on these? I hit a 54 the other day warming up to test a hybrid and was very impressed with them.

I was hitting the Ping Z-Z115  shaft. Felt pretty stable and not too whippy. There are a ton of shaft options if you order through Golf Galaxy's website and choose customize.

Nice wedges! feel great! I picked up a S159/Eye2/8 degree bounce. Was ready to throw it away after a few rounds this week. But decided to go back to my old "throw the damn head at the sand and watch" swing and Viola! Just like the old days. out and rollin'.

Hard to believe I played a full set of Nickel Eye2s! They look weird now 🙂

Hit these today against the SM10’s and Ping blew the Vokey’s out of the water. The feel is superior and the shaping is some of the best ever. Going to be ordering a 50s / 55H / 58H with DG X100 TI’s.

You should try these. I was in the same boat and they’re knocked it out of the park with these ones. Felt better to me than the SM10’s. The shaping is the best out there is you like sharp edges vs rounded on so many wedges out there.

I went in thinking I’d end up in the usual Vokey or TM but it was clear from the fitting, looks, sound/feel and consistency that Ping was the clear winner for me.

Well I was excited with Ping's new midnight finish. I couldn't wait to order them. I received my wedges a few minutes ago and they are built to the specs I ordered but they are in the chrome finish.  They look nice and something tells me chrome is the better sensible choice anyway. I am on the fence at the moment to keep them or have them ordered again. I ordered them from Dicks and funny my order is only showing my order number and that I ordered two wedges. My build no longer shows up. Luckily I took screen shots of my build.

I second guessed my choice from the start so maybe someone was looking out for me. LOL...My ocd is kicking in though that my order is wrong.

Are you gona keep 'em or send 'em back??

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

I am going to keep them. They are very nice looking in this finish too. The deciding factor. From what I gather the hydropearl finish isn't on the midnight wedges. The more I thought about it after I ordered them the more I thought even though the difference is very minor I should have gone with the added performance. I'm going to play tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday so I'll put them to the test.

Got mine outside the other day, played some par 3 golf with my daughter so I got to hit these quite a bit.  I have to say, I am glad I gave the KBS tour 120 a chance as a wedge shaft.  It's perfect for me.  The feel on a well struck shot with this wedges are awesome, soft and muted, plenty of spin but more of a hit and track back a yard or 2.  I was playing RTX6s before these with KBS tour also and those wedges are fantastic, too.  But having my 58 in an 8* bounce in the Ping changes everything for me around the greens.  Love that Ping did the B grind, it feels so good for me and gives me the versatility I need.  I was skeptical about the 54h 10 bounce as I like to keep more of a 12 on my full shot clubs but the H grind was flawless through the ground and great on short chips and pitches.  These look great, no question... I get that cozy feeling when I lay them down by the ball, perfect shape.

What grind in your lob did you have with the RTX6?

I have the LOW in my RTX6 58.  I should have ordered the 60/10 and bent it strong to 58/8 looking back.  I like to go 8 in my LW so I can have some versatility to open it up.

Thanks. I assume from your response you are comfortable opening the B grind a little?

I only tried SM10 and 159 on mat

SM10 is more spiny for me, the head is heavier, some may love or hate the weight

159 nothing special for me

I game T24, they feel much softer than anything else, and have the amount of spin I want. If not T24, I will prefer MG4 over SM10 and 159.

(SM10 and 159 have 64 lie angles, T24 has 63, this may have affected the club fitting experience for some)

I did a total WRX thing.   Was out playing yesterday and stopped at the turn to get a Gatorade.  My Head Pro tells me there are some toys in my office.  I was only expecting one thing. Ran to the office and sure enough there was the PING box.    Ripped it open and raced back out to the cart.  Ny buddy died laughing when he saw me carrying them out.

They are B-U-T-Ful!
