I bagged the BRNR last year after early season driver struggles. After awhile, the lack of forgiveness and lack of advertised versatility was maddening and I spent a few mid-season weeks getting back into a functional relationship with my driver. So glad I did. It’s a distinctly better option off the tee for me and MOST golfers. The second club in the bag became a 13.5* TSR3 FW cut an inch short. It’s a FAR better golf club as the second longest option in the bag. ~8mph less ball speed than D, easier to hit straight, launch conditions off deck are WAY better than any mini-driver could be.

I hope you guys get what you want. And perhaps for a small subset of 120+ swing speed squeeze cut driver players, this club will be their draw-biased tee club. But I’d also love to see a test of launch conditions between this and a proper fitted 13* FW.

For you.

I love the BRNR as a 3W replacement - not a driver replacement. Its far easier to hit off the tee and at least at my home course, I only need - at most - one fairway shot per round with it.

And for the average golfer my guess is that a 13.5* BRNR/2 Wood option provides significantly more confidence off the tee than a low lofted 3 wood.

I cant wait to try this out if they are ever released to the public.

I chuckle at guys who emphasize the importance of a strong 3 wood off the deck for the "average" golfer...because with a 13.5 fairway, for the average golfer, just making solid contact and advancing the ball in play is 50/50 at best, much less hitting a green or worrying about decent angles.

Its about having options to get off the tee as best as possible

I agree. I won't touch my 3w off the deck but if I want a real solid fairway finder I'll tee up the 3w.

I don’t think we are talking about the BEST option, I said better. Hit what works for you. For Cam Young, multiple options off tee is likely a good thing. And he has the ball striking chops to use a 280cc 2w off the ground.  For average swing speed, avg handicaps, generally speaking, something around a 4 wood or 5 wood is the BEST option as the second longest club in the bag.

That said regarding higher lofted woods as great options for average golfers, among the options presented in my post, I’ll stick with a lower lofted FW over a mini-driver. All the data bros have been telling us to stop hitting fairway woods off tees and the data does indeed side with their argument. Off the deck, the mini driver is distinctly harder to hit. Off the tee, it’s marginally easier than a driver. I thought the BRNR was going to be a game changer and it just wasn’t. For me.

Is there anyway this club lofty down to 12.25 could ever be an actual driver replacement?  A driver length shaft are at 44 inches plane length… Can’t keep up with the TSr 4  driver.

The burner mini at 13.5°, that I had could certainly keep up with the driver. I’m just wanting some thing a little smaller.

I was coming in to post the same video. We need to make our presence known to Titleist. Everyone should go comment letting Titleist know we want this to be brought to retail!

Interesting that he uses it when he wants a draw off the tee and driver when he wants a fade…. As was said earlier, it gives him options off the tee.

I feel like that's the standard use for it as drivers become more and more set up to hit fades. It's hard to draw a driver now without a weird knuckleball while the 2 wood is way easier to turn over.
