GolfWRX keeps calling these GT2 woods. They are GT woods with the 2, 3 or 4 shape / size.

I know the Kirkland driver looked like a Titleist but now we've come full circle and the Titleist driver looks like a Kirkland with this design.

I thought the exact same thing.

Curious if this naming system will bleed over to the irons. My initial reaction was that "GT" sounded weird but it's probably bc we already have the T series of irons with the TSR woods. Wonder if they go GT100, etc for uniformity.

Could the 3 & 4 be the same with the forward weight and the only difference is adjustability versus fixed?!  Both look to have red weight that I believe is 9g

Kinda but not really that simple. The GT4 is smaller head 430-440 and because you can make the GT4 more forgiving by by swapping the weights but also add more spin while doing so.

People are going to lose their 💩 over the GT logo and Titleist not using the diamond alignment.

The DCI alignment aid was last used on the TS line so this is now the 3rd generation without it. I too prefer the DCI logo vs the letter logo given 20+ years of gaming Titleist drivers, but it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker for very many given how the last couple of generations have sold.

Interesting that Titleist continues to stick with titanium on the crown, while every other company is jumping on the carbon fiber. Makes me wonder if there's really that much more benefit to carbon fiber...

There really isn't. The 2019 MGS CG report found the all titanium TS3 to have one of the lowest if not the lowest CG of all models tested (several of the highest CGs tested in those years happened to have composite crowns). Ultimately when you account for the glue needed to adhere the composite material to the chassis the weight difference vs a well designed titanium crown is generally a wash not to mention the potential increase in failure rate.

You can paint carbon.

While this is true, most manufacturers want technology to be externally visible to entice consumers given that they cannot see inside of the head which is why you see most composite crown models finished with some visible exposure of the composite weave (this feedback was also pointed out on the Wilson Driver v Driver show).

This Titleist video gives a better look at the bottom of the clubs.  Definitely something going on with the sole with the matte/carbon-looking sections right near the end of the short video.

never change a classic look I guess.  Doesn't look like anything new?  Better be something inside or huge trampoline effect with the face, otherwise, what's new?

It's also what's inside. The whole "visible tech" stuff is mostly for the marketing/shelf appeal. The TSi line had increased horizontal MOI due to internal weight distribution that made a tangible difference on spin with high/low strikes. You don't see that on the shelf, but you do on the course, especially with wind.

Wonder what difference the weight in the GT3 makes in the front of the head vs in the back as in the TSi3 and TSr3.  If it lowers spin too much I might have to go for the GT2.  Always loved moving the weight depending on my ball striking pattern.

This is the most interesting part to me as this is the first time Titleist has done an adjustable weight track in the *front* of a driver head. The weight itself plus the housing for it means much more low/forward in terms of distribution which is newer-ish for Titleist. I'm seeing something similar to the TS3 in terms of CG and low spin like @storm319 mentioned above. The TS3 was very much Titleist's "SLDR" and if they can further refine that formula you'll have something matching TM's when it comes to numbers. Kinda creates a weird spot for the "4" model though.

I'm really interested in trying the gt4 vs gt2. I have a TSi 2, I definitely notice that the spin can shoot up on me sometimes when I catch one lower on the face. I know TSr 2 is much better in this aspect, but I want to try the 4 to see how I get along with it. These look great to me tho, looks like there might be more focus of weight in the sole plate design around the silver stripe?

I mentioned this above but that was the biggest thing for me with the TSi line; how much tighter the spin window was with vertical strike variation. You can of course still feel that low strike, but it always comes out less spinny than expected on the course, very similar to the Taylormade Ti fairways that you can practically skull and they still don't spin up.

I've hit none of these but can tell you they are faster on more parts of the face . The spin is also more consistent on mis hits aerodynamics have also been improved to help the club move more efficiently. They took tour feed back and adjusted the sound and flight windows of these drivers . Each driver is fine tuned for a specific swing type. I will leave this right here I bet I'm 99% spot on . All of us that know and play Titleist woods know the marketing department lingo . Oh I forgot 3 mph ball speed and possibly a more rigid frame for better energy transfer. Lastly a new aerospace face plate made with AI technology.

And they did this, that, and the other to save weight that's redistributed elsewhere for better CoG and launch conditions.
