They should play it like a linkes in Scotland. Land short and hope the ball will roll up there. Maybe it's difficult to change mentality from the way they usually play, which is to maximize distance off the tee and land all approach shots near pin high. If they miss the fairway, it's usually manageable to get it there from the rough. Here they can end up with a terrible lie or even have to take a drop as penalty for missed fairways.

Don't disagree - and I like Hovland as a player. But the videos from yesterday show Bryson and Homa waiting quite a bit while Viktor struggled.

That’s not especially tricked up. 
 

It’s the way it always plays.   Even humble golfers like me have experienced it. Sand wedge aporoach ball mark three feet from hole, ball sucks back off false front. Five more to get down. 
 

You can chose to play there or not.  Fun?  Sometimes yes. Sometimes debateable.

Why on earth would someone think this is a bad thing? Hit a different shot. Yeah it's hard but no one forced Hubbard to hit a high soft shot with a ton of spin. Hit one that comes in lower and skips up the hill. It's really damn simple. If I want to see guys hit wedges past the pin and spin back to 3 feet, I'll watch whatever golf tournament is on literally the other 51 weeks out of the year. Hell the KFT has an event this week, if you think this is embarrassing why don't you just watch that? It is insufferable to hear people act like this course is unfair. There were multiple 65's yesterday at a US freaking Open that's what is ridiculous and embarassing. US Opens should strive to have the winning score be as close to even par as possible and the further under par it gets the worse the tournament is. I don't care if they have to play 8000 yard courses, with 10 yard wide fairways, knee high rough everywhere, and greens bouncing like concrete running at a 15. The US Open is and always will be about testing the mental fortitude of the best players in the world. Find out who the most resilient is that week because you're going to hit "good shots" that aren't rewarded because the hole required you to play it a different way and you didn't.

Among numerous other reasons, one thing I dislike about Bryson is that he has abandoned the Kangol caps he used to wear, so I can no longer call him what his fellow tour pros used to call him in those days, "Bryson DoucheChapeau". 😄

Comcast is losing lots of money these days from both people cutting cable but also from the launch of Peacock, which has not gone well and has caused them to spill lots of cash. They are looking for a merger partner to help it along but until then, they are putting things on there that might cause folks to spring for a subscription to stem the tide, so we get this.

NBC should put the front nine on one app and the back nine on a different app. There could be a cut day app, a moving day app, and of course, a Sun Day App. I mean cmon it’s only $5 for each app. 
 

Ferg would like this idea, how about paying NBC for an app for each player so he doesn’t have to see Scottie. NBC would make a fortune off all you guys paying $20 to not watch Bryson. I mean is it really too much to ask that you send an extra $50 to Tiger, cmon poor guy is limping around out there!

The Sky Golf stream/feed is relatively easy to find if you take my meaning. No announcers trying to one-up each other on clever turns of phrase...just quiet descriptions of the golf and long, blissful stretches of silence when you can hear birds, planes, crowd murmurs etc. Near-Masters-level minimal advertising interruptions. No 'reminders' of sponsors you neither need nor want reminding of.
