I have finished moving the collection over to the new place and just posted this gem up in the Putter Porn thread, but it really belongs over here.

Here is a real Holy Grail - even Byron told me he loves this putter.

It is a 1 of 50 made for the Tour 8811 in German Stainless Steel. Just beautiful lines, if this baby was a car, it would be an E-Type Jaguar.

Made in 2012 it has gorgeous milling, is completely hand stamped (back when it was still German Stainless and not just GSS ha ha), a leather stitchback grip and a really luxurious leather headcover. Comes in at 360g / 34" which also makes it one mean gamer! Enjoy. :-)

I've always wanted to try a heavier head in this shape. Mine are both on the light side.

I know Byron doesn't make the Channel Islands head anymore, but thought I would show the amount of hand work he can do with a stock head. I couldn't be happier with the look of the B-back matte blue oil. Such a unique Byron.

So wish he'd bring this model back......

Agree - traditionally, the 8802 style head normally comes in at about 320 - 330g from most makers and there is not a lot out there unless you get one made.

This is a great putter on the slower greens I play on Sundays. If you want a cost effective similar head style, grab a Bettinardi 2016 Studio Stock 6 - excellent putter for the money and weighs in at 358g head. There is always a guy selling new ones cheap on the Bay - might be an option for you. :-)

Here's the DH89 in Mystic Pearl finish I've been gaming this year. Not sure if this one has been posted in the 50+ pages of this thread, but apparently it's exchanged hands many many times through the BST.

In one of its for sale threads someone pointed out that it's the same one on the bottom half of the second page of Byron's web gallery: http://byronputters.com/photo-gallery/nggallery/page/2. So I emailed Steve at Byron Putters for some details, and got back: "Its a stainless. Was in the last batch of mystic we did from the color."

Best feeling putter I've ever owned. It's well worn and the top line is a bit banged up so I'm considering getting it refinished if this is "the one" that finally stays in my bag. I'm not sure who can/should do it so I'm open to suggestions!

Mystic is a PVD finish. I would only send back to Byron for a new Mystic finish. Many including myself could do a finish but not Mystic. You should google your finish, the process is really cool and must be done in a very special machine, AKA rainbow PVD or black pearl and Mystic.

Thanks for the tip! I have the 2011 SS6 at 345... another 10g would be nice. I could probably sell it and buy the newer one without losing too much.

Here's my first Byron. We shall see if the original owner remembers this beauty one of his many but one of his first. She has been refinished by Byron to this beautiful dark finish.

If I remember correctly it stands for “hand grind”, referencing all the extra hand work to soften the putter up.

Makes sense, hand grind aka Tai treatment. Regardless they both look great.

Yes it stands for hand grind and what Byron told me is one of Tai's first putters ordered from Byron.

Can you help me identify what type of milling this is?

I'm in the process of beginning my first Byron custom build (want to go 615) and was wondering if you guys could answer a couple questions about the milling. I've played Camerons & Betti's, and I have a Studio Stainless from 2003 that has very faint milling that may be a bit too firm at times... a Studio Stock 2 with Super Fly Mill that I think is perfect... and a Futura x5 whose milling I feel is too deep...

Now taking that into consideration, I think I'm somewhere between Byron's Fine Fly Mill & the CNC Mill. I really like the depth of the Tuna mill, but was wondering if they could leave out the larger Tuna mills and just keep that light milling in the background...

Also, could someone help identify the milling in these 6 photos? I'll pulled some from this forum that I thought were amazing. Really tough choices ahead! Appreciate the help.
