Callaway Giveaway!!! 2 sets of Roger Cleveland Custom made wedges!!!

I want these wedges because I have never been able to get truly custom fit for a set of wedges. I am a digger and I have had very little success finding wedges that I don't take huge divots with.

 

It would be an honor to work with Mr. Cleveland and I think it would help my wedge game a ton.

Why do I need these wedges? Simple, I struggle in choosing the correct loft and bounce for my playing style. It would be good to have someone of Roger's ability to help fine tune my scoring clubs.

Wow.....well first off...there's really only 2 wedge men Roger and Bill to be able to work with Roger and figure out something that I have only been guessing at which is what kind of grinds I really need would be a great experience

Why I would want custom wedges from Roger Cleveland?? Better question why wouldn't I want custom wedges done by Roger Cleveland!! I need these wedges because this would be the very first clubs that I have ever gotten new! This will definetley help out for me to take the first steps to starting a professional playing career. I have been saving for three years to have enough money to try out the mini-tours, and beyond. This oppurtunity can only help my chances to making it to the big dance. (And this is the only time I have ever seen anything so special for a lefty!!!)

I love Roger's work. His wedges are a work of art. I have an old copper cleveland wedge that I wore the grooves off of many years ago. I sharpened the leading edge and I use it to this day to hack crabgrass out of my yard. If you live in the south you know what a clump of crabgrass looks like. The club is still accurate. I can put a clump of crabgrasss in my wheelbarrow from 25 yards out. I tried this with a vokey but the vokey head is too fat so I kept spraying the clumps right into the flower beds. True Story!! Of course I would not use these new wedges for yard work, until I wear the grooves off!

I would like these wedges for a few reasons, one of those is that my short game is the heart of my game and I practice it more than anything. I would also like these wedges because a chance to work with Roger Cleveland would be absolutely awesome, He is one of the greatest club designers of all time and I'm sure a custom fitting would help me a lot.

Thanks to GolfWRX, Callaway, and Roger for another amazing contest. I know I could benefit from playing wedges that better fit my swing. It would be an amazing experience to have tour level equipment that was actually fit using my input. Count me in on this one for sure!!

I would want these wedges because I would love to know how it feels to be a tour player. I have problems with my wrist and sometimes I cant spin the ball like I want to. I would hope there is a grind out there that would help with that. I just cant afford custom grinds just for me so i have to play stock wedges. I would appreciate the oppurtunity to have some wedges made for me so I know its not the CLUBS fault when I hit those bad shots :)

I currently use the 3 pack Adams wedges (52, 54, and 60). They work OK or I would not be using them. But to have someone on R.C.'s calibre actually take time out of his schedule to make some for me would be fantastic. I would liken it to being fit for a putter by Cameron, Mills, or Bettinardi. Wow, how amazing would this be, good luck to all.

I'm just like every other hacker out there with a dream. A dream to hit pure shots once in awhile. Being left-handed, finding anything that resembles a tour quality wedge (or iron, in some cases) is downright impossible.

 

That being said, Phil's short game, made possible somewhat by the wedges he carries, is the envy of anyone who plays golf. I'd love to have those same weapons to produce my own bit of magic, even if it never makes the telly. I could certainly never afford this type of luxury, but it would mean the world to try!

I want these wedges because I think Roger Cleveland is the premier wedge designer in the world. I have had the most success with Mr. Cleveland's designs (whether it be the old 588 series or the newer callway x tour wedges), and it would be a privilege to get to work with him on a custom design to fit my game.

 

I think that having the opportunity to get custom wedges made for your game (just like the pros) is one of the quickest ways to lower your handicap. I consider wedges as "instruments" in the entire scoring process. On the average, amateurs, like myself will miss more greens in regulations and leave ourselves in spots where we need to have the proper equipment in our hands in order to get the ball in the hole in a fewer amount of strokes. Off the rack may help some, but I still believe that with a custom fitting, even a scratch player can still shave off a couple of strokes.

My best wedges in the past 10 years were a set of tour issue Callaway forged (not +) wedges that had come from a Senior's tour player. I loved the grind which was totally different from retail. I worked magic with those wedges and they had cover destroying grooves all before the modern grooves went retail. It had a grind similar to a C grind but with a killed leading edge. The Forged (not +) were just too small and were shafted with GAT 95s. When I swapped them out to DG wedge shaft the swingweight went thru the roof :

 

I sold them and tried to follow them by having someone do the same grind on a pair of Callaway Forged +. Didn't work, hopefully Mr. Cleveland can do the same grind for me.

 

In the meantime I'm stuck with buying really expensive JDM wedges pre-owned :(

I am a poor college student who is playing old Cleveland wedges that i bought 7 years ago when i played on my high school golf team. When i hit a ball the grooves are so worn that the ball slides up the face rather than being grabbed by the grooves. What a great opportunity. I would love to win the wedges, because I've never had the resouces to be custom fit for wedges ... even though most of my wasted strokes come with a wedge. It would be great to understand, from a master club artisan, what specs I need and how the technology in the design is best utilized.
