I know, I was going to order it online, I was wondering if he could give me a link so that I could make sure that I was buying the right stuff.

I use this one in place of the tal strip. Works really well!!! Looks like you can't order it from their website though.

Maybe Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-255448-32-Ounce-AircrAft/dp/B003Z8XUAQ

It might be another option in case you (or your dad) can't find the tal-strip. I couldn't find it here in MI, and I looked at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Auto Zone, etc. I ended up getting this one at Auto Zone.

Any hobby store / model, rc, etc store carries more choices in tamiya / testors model paint then you could imagine. Smoke, gloss, flat, etc. I believe the one I went to was hobbytown USA or some name like that. One of the small bottles will probably do you a lifetime.

Another note I would add and I am unsure if it has been covered, but using the Tamiya paint thinner (1 part thinner to 3-4 parts paint helps really well with the bubbles and also lets the paint run much better. If you use one drop thinner and 3 or 4 drops of paint you can paint an entire putter and have some left. It takes very little.

I have no hobby shops around so I found Tamiya on eBay. Just make sure you order from a seller in the United States to get the paint faster. It seems like all the sellers are located in Japan and it takes over two weeks to get an order. The guy I bought paint from is from Great Northern Books and Hobbies and he answered my email and it's July 4th so I thought that was pretty cool. I ordered 14 colors and 1 bottle of thinner and the total was under $35.

Anybody know which tamiya color code matches up with with Mizuno Blue? Have a 3i that someone paintfilled previously but the blue is much too light.
I just found a website that says they have computer match of pretty much all the most popular brand clubs and they have Mizuno blue.

www.golfpaint.com

I never used the site or the paints so I can't say if they are good or bad but it might be worth a try...doesn't seem expensive either.

Would anyone here know how to paint fill the new scotty weights?
Just put a few drops on them and let the paint spread to completely fill the area. It'll look great.

For you guys that have repainted drivers, what is the best way to avoid over spary if you don't want to get the face? I am looking at painting the bottom all black then paint filling the rest. I have read about the frog tape and rustoleum paint, is that the best way?

Strip the entire club and then tape off the face and places you don't want to paint just yet.

These are a few of the latest club I changed. I just used Stripper to take the red paint out of the chrome settings.

I ordered some Tamiya X acrylic paint from eBay and it came in so I got to use it today and it's safe to say that I'll never use another kind of paint. I had some kind of clear acrylic paint that I'd been using for a while and it was doing fine but the tamiya is head and shoulders above that. I'd recommend Tamiya paints to anyone and I thank Deerslayer for recommending it here so that I could try it.

Nice work Beaver. I have a question for ya. I just bought a new Newport 2 putter and would like to replace the red with blue. Now do I have to worry about removing the black finish on the putter? Of course I want to refill the cameron and everything on the sole of the putter as well.

Thanks Beaver

Dave

Hey everybody, post all the pics you can of your paint fill. I love seeing the creativity and maybe borrow some ideas from the very talented folks that have been posting. Not just anyone can do this. It takes a ton of skills and patientce and I give big time respect to everyone that has been posting their new paint fill. I love getting all the tips I can get because I'm far from having artistic skills to match the high quality work that everyone has been doing. This is my favorite post. Lovin this stuff. CUSTOM!

The paintfill info on here is by far the best I've ever come across. I've got one for someone that I haven't found much on, does anyone know, if it's even possible for an amateur to do, how to paint the white heads of the tm woods different colors? I've seen some around the site for sale, most with a matte black look, and they are absolutely incredible. I would love to hear anyones thoughts!

Thanks

Ive done quite a few paintfills on scotty's. Deerslayers instructions are the best, follow those and you will come out with a masterpiece! Here are a few examples:
Did you use regular Tal Strip on the GoLo? I was concerned about the finish.

 • Taylormade Qi10 core 9* - Ventus TR Blue 6TX
 • Taylormade Tour Issue Stealth Plus+ 3 HL - Ventus Black 8TX
 • Titleist T100 4-PW - DG TI X100
 • Taylormade MG4 50SB, 56HB, 60HBW - DG TI S400
 • Artisan Blue Bonnet 0820 - LAGP TPZ One35 USA

 • 2 weeks later...

Winter here in the midwest gives a person way too much time to tinker with things. After seeing another post about changing an R11 driver, I just could not help myself. Changed the "R" to black instead of red and the "11" to grey instead of black. Also striped the sole plate and put a brushed finish on it before filling with black and clear coating. Oh, and added a little grey to the small "T" and refilled the white "aylormade" to make it pop just a little more.

Sorry about the crappy phone pics but the wife has the good camera for the forseeable future. Once this was done, the rest of the bag looked pretty ragged so I set out to bead blast the PINGs and do a whole new paint scheme. Pics to follow soon.

that looks sick
