I recently purchased a Ogio Nebula. It only weighs 3.8 pounds. So far it's been a terrific bag.

Sean,
Got one too yesterday. Great bag and puts the hoofer to shame. Incredibly lightweight, plenty of pockets, full length dividers, 10" top, six way top, nice straps and no club tangling messes.

I play well over 100 rounds a year and among countless others have had 2 Ogio Grom bags, both with broken zippers shortly outside their warranty. Decided to try a Sun Mountain Four 5 two years ago and have well over 200 rounds on it, along with trusting it to the airlines several times (in an Ogio Straitjacket travel bag) and it still looks and works like brand new. It's without a doubt the best bag I've ever had. Would definitely buy another one.

i do love my TM/Adidas bags. I have had no issues with either, just a light weight an durable.!
I love my adidas Tour AG stand bag, but by the time I load it up, it's as heavy as a pro's staffer. :slow_en:

It is a very well built carry bag, but I normally either ride or push a cart, so it' a great bag for riding and pushing. :smilie_tm:

Jones Original... best bag 25 years ago and best bag again today!
Very good carry bag. I can't go back to a dual strap since I started using this last year. Sucks for riding, so I am left to switch my clubs to another bag before the round. Thats a bit of a pain, but I am now a firm believer that one strap/no stand carry bags are the ideal way to walk.

Giving the jones to my son, just ordered a mackenzie nylon. We'll see though, if I don't like it, I'll take my Jones right back.

If you are left handed, Sun Mountain is the only choice. They are the only people who make bags for lefties. I had two Ping Hoofers, and I loved them both, but nothing compares to a left handed SM 3.5 carry/stand bag.

Now if you want the best carry bag, there is one choice: Mackenzie

The cheaper #2 choice: Jones
At around a $$grand$$, including shipping and tax, that'll be a "no thank you". Looks like a nice bag though. The Jones bag is the answer, to the test of time. Of course, IMHO.

Hi everyone, new to the forum and a long time lurker. Recently picked up the game a few months ago and started lessons last week. Now Im in the search for a bag since the one I got is barely holding up together.

Not trying to hijack but is there any bag just as good as the SM4.5 with a dedicated putting well? I've researched stand bags and ultimately it comes down to the SM4.5.

Driver - TaylorMade Sim2 Max 10.5*, HZRDUS Green 6.0 (60g)

has anyone tried the Taylormade Micro-lite bag? Advertises four way full length dividers, full features, backpack harness system (which I like), and only 3.9 pounds (and says something about a customizable removable ball pocket - so does that mean you can make it even lighter?)

i've been a Sun Mountain / Titleist guy for awhile, and i have the ultra-lightwieght Titleist bag, but the top is just too small (i only have two way divider), so i want something that is a little bigger but still very lightweight. Was going to get the SM 3-5, thinking it would weight 3.5 pounds, but upon checking it out, it's around 4.6 pounds

I've been a sun mtn. fan for close to 20 years. Stated with an Eclipse, then went with an eclipse deluxe, and now a MPB. The first two were carried while the MPB has been about half carry and half push cart. The 2009 model MPB has about 250 rounds on it. The straps are starting to show wear as is the rub pad. The edge of the putter well is also wearing, but with a steel shafted putter it really doesn't affect function. There is a piece of plastic broke off from where one of the legs attaches to the bag. I spoke with Sun Mtn. who said that I couldn't buy a replacement piece. I could send the bag back to them and for $50 to $ 75 they would refurbish the bag and replace the part. I didn't bother as the cost to refurbish plus shipping both ways seemed a bit much. My back prefers that I use a push cart rather than carry, so the leg issue which I did a partial repair using epoxy puttty will have to do.

My problem is what will I find to replace the MPB. My Yes Natalie putter has an oversized tiger shark grip on it that fits really well in the MPB's external putter tube. I like to keep the clubs seperted, but after visiting a couple of shop, I was unable to find a stand bag with a 14 way divider top that would allow my putter grip to fit in.

The MPB model was replaced with the hybrid model. The hybrid I saw in the store wasn't half the bag of the MPB. The hybrid has a single strap, like someone would ever want to carry a bag this heavy for 18 holes with a single rather than a double strap. My putter grip wouldn't fit in any of the 14 slots of the bag.

Larger diameter putter grips are becoming fairly common. My gripe is that I have not yet found a stand bag, that will accomodate the larger grips.

Another stand bag with an external putter tube would be ideal.

Like the straps on the Nike perform/sasquatch better than SM 4.5 or 3.5 deluxe. Ogio strap system is bunk. Hoofer is dorky but good to cart those ugly Pings about...

The way to know your carry bag is really good for walking is on the last 4 holes.

The original Jones Carry Bag is great, but for those who prefer to ride, there is now a Black/White Jones "Rider" Bag too! It is basically a lightweight STAFF Bag.
