Nike Covert users

Demod the tour head w/ KK silver stiff last saturday. Well pleased. Picked up about 13 yds on average over my adams 9064ls. Went out and bought one monday, 1st round on friday and I couldn't be happier. Just long, straight drives. 10.5 neutral setting.

I read about a couple plastic badges cracking. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but if something happens, I'm confident Nike will take care of any problem.

I'v bought the performance driver, 3-wood and 20 degree hybrid, just regular flex for me lol...i did try my friends tour model with the regular flex silver KK, felt pretty good, although i do prefer the bigger performance head, has anyone any idea where i can buy just the Silver Kuro Kage in reg flex shaft from?

I'm not sure every store will do this, but mine swapped out a silver from a Tour head and put it in the Performance I got

Well I just got back from myrtle beach and played over 100 holes of golf in 40 degree temps and 20mph winds using the Nike Covert Performance driver with the stock red kk stiff flex shaft. Honestly I can say this is one of the best performing drivers that I have ever had. I play a cut shot off the tee and my miss is right. I was extremely surprised to see my usual 10-15 yard cut reduced to more of a 5 yard cut and sometimes a draw. I was seriously loving this club until about 50 holes in and then i was just so exhausted that I was having some swing issues, I was still hitting the fairway but just was not swinging that well. AND THEN I was cleaning my clubs in the parking lot after a round and accidently dropped the driver on the ground and scuffed the side of the head...SOB! I may send it to continental golf but at least you really cant see it from address but im pretty pissed.

Toolman, by all means you should send to Continental Golf! I live in Raleigh, love those guys. Gearheads, genuinely nice guys who love the game and are committed to service. Plus, I have a Tour model en route and am seriously considering a matte black refinish with Alidila RIP alpha shaft. You first! I had some irons shafted last year, long since sold, and while Stuart was writing up my work order I saw an R11 that they'd refinished black. I'd never play a TM club but it looked really sharp. If my combo proves to be $, it's very possible I will take the plunge.

Probably want to go with the stock Kuro Kage Black in stiff. It is a good shaft and if you're a smooth swinger then you should just fine in this shaft. Go try it out or find a fitter/dealer that has some shafts in stock to try with the Covert.

So what are you saying? You are hitting the ball lower??? I have the same speed as you do and I hit the ball much lower than mine R11. I think I am ready to get something new...Love the way it looks and feel....I have had it reshafted with 3 different shafts already and ball flight has not changed. Played with the loft also but still didn't work either. Don't know what to do????

Just got my performance driver! Since I average 115ss the stock 55g stiff KK isnt for me so I just ordered a Tour issue Aldila Phenom NL 60 TX! Will post pics when I get her all shafted up.

Yep a lot lower than the Black 50gm KK, i was getting over 4000rpm and 17 degree launch set at 10.5 left with the Black, put the silver 60gm (although there is only 7gms between the 2) in and was 3250rpm avg and a launch of 14 degrees, both regular flex, lol i tried the Matrix black tie stiff just to see,...lol i think it was about 6" off the ground ...lol

Was playing Nike VR Tour 9.5 degree with Diamana Blue Board 63 stiff at 45.5 inches. Anyone know how launch angle is with Covert Tour vs. VR Tour? Haven't hit Covert Tour yet.

Just got word my Covert Performance will be here in time for the weekend/first round of the season! Stayed with the standard shaft because it was through a gift card site and I didn't see any additional order options. I guess we'll see...

Just in case, though, has anyone had success swapping shafts with this adapter? I haven't read the last few pages, sorry if it was already mentioned.

I think someone said golf works or a site like that sold the adapters, although they said it didnt come with a ferrule?

I have pulled the shaft out without a problem.....Just need a 335 ferrule.... or you can just order one from Golfworks....Here is the link below

It's the combo that worked best for me and from the sound of it... for a lot of other people as well. Of course, I haven't been anywhere with a full fitting cart yet so I only had two shafts to choose from. The KK black in the performance head spun too much for me, KK silver dropped the spin noticeably.

Just played my first round with the performance model with KK silver in stiff. Took me a few holes to get it under control, but I hit 10 fairways today (I usually hit 5-7) and driver distance was around 250 total and even bombed one about 290 (no idea how I did that unless my gps was a little off haha). This thing is great! I have it set to closed at 10.5 also the distance increase is probably also due to the fact that this thing is .75" longer than my 910.

Wilson D100, 9* stiff; not impressive; loose feeling shaft and poor ball speed

Adams Fast 12, 10.5* stiff; better but higher spin and shorter than the Covert

TM RBZ Tour; 10.5* stiff; the best of the three contenders, but still shorter with inferior dispersion.

I don't own the Nike Covert Tour yet, but it will be my next driver.

Nike Covert Tour (14 drives) set to 8.5 Left = 255 avg carry, 2240 avg spin rate, 5.6 avg yards off line, 9* avg launch angle
I have never had spin numbers this low (with a carry distance that far). The Good shots I hit started just right of the target with a nice tight 5 yard draw. The bad shots were less distance but still close to the target line. Even switching between drivers, every time I hit the Covert Tour it provided a better result that the others.

I hit the New Callaway drivers but none of them were as accurate as the Nike Covert Tour.
I hit the Nike Covert (non-tour) and my numbers were close but still not quite as good as the Tour model. I think this was a mental thing as I like the look of the sightly smaller head better.
Current Driver:
Cobra SL290 (9.5) If I remember correctly had a spin rate somewhere in 3200's which was the lowest of all the drivers I tried a couple of years ago. I thought I couldn't hit it past 250 anymore!
