Had a little trackman shootout between the tour and performance version, with Kiyoshi Purple and Kiyoshi White.

I'll write a more detailed review at some point, but long story short is that you will see a Tour version head only on BST tonight!

Ok, ok. I'll give some insight!

Trackman wise, there was not a huge difference between the two shafts. Both were high launch, low spin for me. They launched within a half degree of each other, and the white spin about 200 rpm less. Not a huge difference.

The real difference was in feel and ballflight. The purple felt smoother, and was easier to turn over. This was the case regardless of which head I used.

Now, in my opinion, the tour head is more fade biased than the performance. And the performance spins a touch more. But both heads are low spin.

The performance head is ABSURDLY good. It is easily the straightest driver I have ever tried. And the most forgiving. I liked the Tour head but its built for workability. I like STRAIGHT.

I also like the bigger head.

Oh, and both are stiff 65.

Here is a comparison of the Nike VR Pro Limited and the VR_S Covert Tour with pictures here. Also I did a comparison on the range and hit the Covert Tour way better and had really good dispersion with the RIP Beta shaft. Both drivers have similar shafts, the Motore F3 70X and the RIP Beta 70X but I enjoy the feel of the RIP compared to the Motore F3 that seems a bit whipy compared to the RIP, not saying that the RIP feels like a telephone pole but I like the feel of the RIP shafts period, always have.

Distance wise, I hit the Covert Tour just as long averaging 290's with some roll but depending on the course conditions I can hit 300 pretty routinely. The Covert Tour is a bit more accurate than the VR Pro LE and the feel and sound are just as good. I am really loving the driver and seem more comfortable with everything about the driver.

Good thoughts right there Scott. I hit the Covert Performance head against the G25 for a few hours yesterday. The one thing I noticed, like you, is that the Covert was incredibly straight. Significantly tighter dispersion over the G. I'm not sure what it is but the head is insanely good. Not as long as my G20 with Di-6 but a shaft change may bring it closer in performance.

In the end I had my local shop swap out an X-flex silver Kuro Kage for the stock red and drop it in a performance head. I like playing my driver at D4 45". That combo started out stock at D6+. By the time they cut it down and added a slighly lighter grip (multicompound) it came right in at D4. :taunt:

Gonna play this for a bit, but have some shafts here awaiting for Golfsmith to replenish their supply of tips.

Thanks for the reply!

As a low single digit who works hard on the range, it is rare that when I look up after striking a ball that I am surprised at the ball flight I see. Certainly swings generally result in expected results. But I was shocked today. Swings that I expected to see moving left to right pretty hard (for me) were simply flying straight. Maybe they started off slightly off line, but bottom line, fairway.

Now please understand that this is not simply a result of the head. I have hit this head with other shafts AT DIFFERENT PLAYING LENGTHS , and did not have these results. But when I found the right combination...WOW

Can't decide between this and my Cobra Amp Cell Pro w/ Oban Kiyoshi White. Both BEASTS!!!!!

This Fujikura Motore 7.2 Tour Spec is stout. Can't wait to test in warm weather.

That's the same setup I think I"m gonna go with. Have an extra Fuji TS shaft laying around and might throw it in there after I play this weekend. Will be taking it to the course for the first time on Saturday.

Same here! I'm leaning towards the Fujikura Motore Speeder 6.3 TourSpec, but all these great postings on Golfwrx make me want to try out other combinations before pulling the trigger!

Waiting on a Matrix Oxik 6X3 White Tie from GolfWorks as the adapters are on back order. Getting great low spin numbers in the 2200-2600 range. My issue is with the stock shaft I believe as i am playing the head at 11.5 and only getting 220 carry at 100-105 swing speed. Launch is around 9 degrees. Much straighter than my R11S and a lot lower lower spin as well.

I've heard. Similar gripes happen with all sorts of clubs from many OEMs. Haven't experienced any with mine though. I do seem to be having an issue hitting this driver over the fence at the driving range. I'm sure the owner is getting a bit annoyed.
