I will say the top 5 I will ACTUALLY play this year:

Erin Hills
Frech Lick Resort (Dye)
The Harvester
TPC Deere Run
Boone Valley (Augusta, Mo)
[/quote]

I have a tee time at Erin Hills on Monday, June 30th. Played TPC Deere Run about 3 years ago and would like to go back.

1. Pacific Dunes
2. Oakland Hills South (I live in the Detroit area, and I know a lot of people who have played it, so hopefully just a matter of time)
3. Royal County Down
4. Pebble Beach
5. Muirfield

I've knocked out a few big ones over the years--Crystal Downs, Muirfield Village, the Old Course, Royal Dornoch, but these are probably my top realistic picks that I've never played.

1. Southern Hills, Tulsa, OK
2. Oak Tree National, Edmond, OK
3. Dallas National, Dallas, TX
4. Austin Country Club, Austin, TX
5. Colonial Country Club, Ft. Worth, TX

I really want to hit these. If I play my cards right and maintain friendships/connections, all are doable.

I've played four of those five (haven't played Oak Tree).

You might consider looking north and adding Prairie Dunes. One of my favorite golf experiences anywhere.

So I was really excited to learn that a lot of these courses aren't that far away from me, at least within 4.5 hours driving. Then I started to look at the rates and my enthusiasm changed a bit. I now have a new list including dates.

2014
Harbor Shores

2015
Erin Hills

2016
Whistling Straits

2017
Arcadia Bluffs

2018
Blackwolf Run

After a year from post 1 here is the updated list:

1. Cypress Point (goal is to play before spring 2015, have HP's info, couldn't accommodate on previous trip and said try next time I'm in area)
.
.
.
2. Pebble Beach (public)
3. MPCC (Dunes) (have HP's contact info, played the Shore course on previous trip)
4. Spyglass (public)
5. Riviera (no contact info or way on, but it's only a phone call away to try)

The Preserve, Spanish, LACC (North), Bel Air CC, SFGC, California GC of SF and Olympic Club (Lake) are all close to the list too...

Wouldn't mind a week of golf that went something like:

Saturday: Fly in to LAX in PM
Sunday: LACC/Bel Air CC
Monday: MPCC Dunes/Shore
Tuesday: Cypress Point
Wednesday: Pebble/Spyglass
Thursday: SFGC/Olympic
Friday: The Preserve
Saturday: Riviera, fly out of LAX in PM

You could easily play both Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run in one trip...they're about 5 miles apart and both part of the American Club Resort in Sheboygan. They have several package deals where you can play all four courses, or a three course combo. I was there about five years ago and it was awesome...I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Not to make you jealous, but I just lined up your dream trip.
1) Monday: California Club of San Francisco
2) Tuesday: Cypress Point AM / MPCC Shores in PM
3) Wednesday: Spyglass
4) Thursday: San Francisco GC

Still finalizing MPCC, but the rest are set. It's a few months out, but I'm obviously excited. That's obviously a lot of golf/driving in four days. I'll rest when I die.

I agree on Augusta and Cypress Point just not realistically happening

I have played a lot of top courses, including a Scotland trip

Hit list for trips now include Ireland and Bandon

I do have some leads on some good ones right now that are more local:

1. Baltusrol
2. Seminole
3. Pine Valley
4. Pinehurst
5. Oakmont
6. Oak Hill
7. Inverness

If I ever get back to Tasmania, I need to play Barnbougle

Unfortunately fell short of the wish list for the last 12 months, however the month long adventure in April was jam packed with golf history. Fortunate enough to visit LACC, Wilshire, Valley Club of Monticeto, MPCC, Olympic, Cal Club, SFGC, Peachtree, Wade Hampton, The Masters, Pine Valley, Merion and Chicago GC. Still a successful adventure!

Merion and Pine Valley for me. They're more accessible for the members I know than the members I know at Augusta. I actually have a certificate to play Merion that I'm waiting for nicer weather to use. Id love to play pinehurst though. I'm lucky enough to have strong connections at Oak Hill, Baltusrol, and Winged Foot too. Man I gotta start capitalizing.

Played the old course and kings barns and castle Stuart so I guess my next two would be sawgrass and pebble? Liberty National is a really special place too and a ton of fun to play. Shot a 76 there.

Edit: I have a buddy at hazeltine and one at oakmont I need to hit up as well.

Coming back to the thread that I started a year and a half ago, and failed on all of the courses I wanted to play in 2013.

But just found out we have our dates set for Dismal River in July and it's looking like Sand Hills is going to happen this summer also. Should have a list of available openings this week.

And, if it's open after last summer's flood damage, Common Ground in Denver on Tuesday, with my son which makes it that much better.
