Mizuno MP-32

Recommended Posts

Played them with the DG S300 shafts in them and they were just lovely :man_in_love: . It's that my Nike VR TW Forged Blades are performing this well otherwise I might think of putting them back in the bag!

How on earth do you keep them looking like they just came off the rack? :o

Damn, these clubs are just too pretty. I just got my new set back reshafted with Satin PX 6.0's, and it'll be somewhat sad to put them into play and see the pristine condition they're in today start to fade. :miz:

I wasn't looking for new sticks at all, but I saw a super clean set of 32's today and got religion.

I had been playing a set of 1983 Powerbilts and I've always been a vocal proponent of the maxim, "Its the Indian, not the arrow". I will be honest, it wasn't like the heavens opened up and the shots suddenly became infinitely miraculous, which is actually good, that means The Powerbilts were great clubs for me for many years and I did well to stick with them so long. But there was most definitely some improvement. Not the subjective "OMG I just spent $XXX on new irons so I better feel HUGE, exagerated improvements." The improvement I felt and saw was subtle, but real.

The clubs played very similarly for me in every way iron to iron, but the Mizunos were just a little longer and a little tighter around the target from 150. from 110 yds (my PW), the Mizunos were scary accurate and consistent. I would say its worth a stroke or two to me. I think I can safely guestimate one, possibly two extra GIR's and probably an extra makeable birdie putt per round. That's what sealed the deal for me. Two strokes is an improvement I would be thrilled with. We'll see.

They ride the turf a little better than the Powerbilts did and they are well balanced. Very easy to swing.

The only bad part is that now I'm going to get razzed mercilessly as the old school curmudgeon who finally "admitted" defeat and bought modern equipment. If I can stay a few strokes ahead of my son for a few years longer now, I think I'll survive his razzing. :clapping:

Just purchased a 2nd hand set of these with S300's in excellent condition for €80, YES €80. Surely this must be the deal of the year so far.

I have just switched from ZM's to AP2's. ZM's needed too much time, but excellent clubs. AP2's easy to hit, but still not convinced as there is no feedback and very high ball flight with the PX shaft. Also a little chunky, especially in the short irons!

These MP32's are the real deal. How I did not discover these years ago baffles me. They are fairly easy to hit, you can work the ball easily, distance is good, feedback is excellent and the feel - well I now know what all this talk about a Mizuno iron is - so much nicer than a Titleist forging - and I am a diehard Titleist fan

These are going to stay in the bag for a long long time.

Before I purchased the ZM's I was going to plump for the MP62's based on reviews to date.

I am now a converted Mizuno fan.

Why did Mizuno not continue to make these???

Are the MP67's a replacement???

Are the MP62's as good???

I just picked up a used set as well and now have a combo set with MP-52. So far so good...they are easier to hit than I believed they would be and shot dispersion has been great.

i love these clubs. i gave them a 5/5. They play like true blades but are also very forgiving. Granted i am a 0. hdcp. I would recommend these clubs to the better player. Ifeel the long iron would be a little tough for a higher hdcp to hit. I love the feel of these clubs the most. I recently switched to these from my nike pro combo tour model (the old ones), and i thought that they would be harder to hit. but that was not the case. Sometimes you can lose distance if you get the ball too high on the face, but the ball flies how you think it will. no surprises.

I'm thinking about making a blended set with 4-6 MP 60, and 7-PW MP 32. If anyone has this set, let me know the pros/cons. Thanks

Been playing the set you mention for the last three and a half years and still have not found anything to replace them. They blend seamlessly with lofts and sole interaction. The great soft Mizuno fell with a decent amount of forgiveness (for a players club anyway).

Have played several brands of blades and cavity backs over the years, but keep coming back to Mizuno's. First the 14s (stupidly sold them), then the 33s (stupidly sold them), back to the 14s (stupidly sold them), and now I have found my way to the MP-32s via a detour as I was heading back to the 33s.

Feel is typical Mizuno. Great forgiveness for a "blade" and great looks at address. In fact, they win out over the 33s for me because I like the look of the 32's short irons better than the 33s.

Plan on playing these for a long time -- simply the best iron I have ever hit.

Tried a set of mp-62's for a few rounds and they were very nice, but they couldn't knock the mp-32's out of the bag. I did not notice any improvement in accuracy, and the 32's just look and feel better to me. YMMV.

One of the things I love about golf in addition to actually playing the game is finding those "special" clubs. It may be a Driver, a Fairway club, a wedge, or a putter, but finding that "special set of irons" is probably the most rewarding find of all.

Seems increasingly rare now to find that very special set of irons that can stand the test of time. Perhaps that is why I actually love my MP-32's even more now than when I first put them in my bag. There is nothing "gimmicky" about these soft forgings. The "cut muscle" design was a great piece of engineering that for the first time enabled a blade to be produced with a cavity back's forgiveness.

Of course, Mizuno has a well-deserved reputation for great forged irons, but with the 32's everything just somehow came together perfectly. I believe the MP-32's are Mizuno's finest effort to date, and when you consider just how good some of their other irons were and are, (MP-14's,MP-33's's, etc), that is saying something!

Picked up a set of these (3i - PW) last weekend at a fleemarket, along with 2 Callaway wedges and a bag all for 100 euros. Really nice and very little wear, I swear the 3 iron looks like it's never been hit. Up until then I had been playing an old set of Daiwa from the 80's and had been seriously considering forking out for a set of MP-25's (now glad I didn't). Hit them on the range a couple of times during the week and finally got out today for 12 holes. Maybe it was just a coincidence that I played a stormer, but I was peppering the pin all day - time will tell. Just one thing, I read a lot about "nothing feels like a Mizuno" and so on : certainly they feel nice, but to be honest I think there is very little in it between the MP-32's and my old Daiwa's which are cast. Maybe I was just expecting a huge difference.

Hey, is anyone out there still using these? I recently bought a set of 716 cb's and I cannot quit thinking about putting the mp32's back in the bag...

Not that I'm unsatisfied with the Titleist irons, it's just that they are missing that Mizuno feel and I'm unsure if I like the new grind on the cb's.

Of course. You dont want to ask me how many sets I own.

I have a minty (used for 10 seasons :) ) set in my basement that I might take out again this year. Re-shafted them with C-Taper Lites two seasons ago. Not as forgiving as my Z765s and obviously shorter due to traditional lofts, but they sure are pretty and fun to play.

I love my mp32's but they became the backups to a set of mp64s. I struggled with my set of mp64's with kbs tour shafts but have loved them with c-taper shafts. The mp64's (c-tapers) give me very similar results to my mp32's (rifle 6.0 shafts) but with more forgiveness.

I strongly recommend both sets but emphasize the importance of having the right shafts to compliment the heads.

its 2018 and im still looking to find a set of these clubs

look on ebay. i got a set that looks unhit with Project X 6.5 shafts from 2017 and got a smoking deal to boot. Problem is now I'm too afraid to play them.

Just bought another set in not quite as good condition, but now I have a set to play and a set to oggle in my home office.

Just grabbed a set of 32’s for $90. I had a set back in the day, could never get over the funky looking PW. Now I have a T7 PW to replace the 32 PW. Looking forward to some nice feel. I plan for some X100’s and may have the heads refinished in black chrome satin with white paintfill. Hoping to have them ready by Jan 1.

Just picked up a (barely) used set from Mike's Golf Outlet in Hartford, CT. It's a mixed set w/P-6 32s and MP-60 5 & 4 w/the stock stiff steel shafts.

I know, I know... I ain't good enough for them, but I was blade-curious enough to drop $130 to see what's what.

My gaming set are Titleist 712 AP-1s with some nice, light graphite shafts, so the MP32s couldn't be more different. I hope I'm not digging myself a deeper hole, but I've been bringing them out to an indoor range and really enjoying them. My shot dispersion isn't half bad, though the poor hits are profoundly worse. And 10-20 yards shorter, but that is probably more a combination of the heavier shafts and my loose swing being even more so in the off season.

Anyways, just wanted to chime in. They really are the nearly perfect example of what I think an iron should look like. I mean... for next to nothing I feel like I'm 80% of the way to a set Miuras.

Does anyone have an extra 2 iron? How common were they? I used to have one many years ago but has since left me. My two sets now only go to 3 iron.

Separately....has anyone ever seen a 1 iron from MP32? Were they even made?

I saw a 32 #2 iron on the bay yesterday. Hurry. They usually go fast.
