I just got rid of my 52* and 58* SM4 as they are ok as it's just like there Scotty Cameron's they are good but I found something better. I picked up a 58* SS and 60* WS PING Gorge. I'm liking the feel better and the forgiveness is better also. I do seem to hit the 60* WS much better than my 52* as I need time on a course as I only tried them off mats at the driving range. Oh no more Scotty's for me either as nothing is going to kick out my Bettinardi Sig. Series #6 putter. Not even PING

I put my Iwedges back in the bag. The 54 sucks from the sand, or rather, I suck using it in the sand. But it is point and shoot from the fairway. Great feel too. I have a 60 as well that is easier out of traps. But I don't think they are that great for finesse shots, but I am less than great there as well. Oh heck, it's operator error, the wedges are great.

The clubs are fully capable. Execution depends on you!

I've owned and played Tour-W, Tour-S, and Tour Gorge. To me, they are all interchangeable. Basically the same top line profile, with minor differences in sole grind, grooves, and on the Gorge, the finish. Tour-W's tend to shred ball covers a little easier, so maybe they spin more. Not much more though. A will struck shot will spin plenty on all of them. Ping machines the face so it's medium rough, which is at least as important as the grooves as far as spin is concern. One nice thing about the Gorge clubs is the sole grind options; you can pick your desired sole width since they come in more than one style. The WS models are similar to the Tour-W's and the Tour-S sole width is similar to the SS model.

Tour-W and Tour-S are chrome plated stainless steel with a face coating (like the i20's). The face coating wears off easily but the chrome protects the underlaying metal from wear. Gorge is raw stainless with a dark finish. The Gorge clubs wear faster than the chrome plated clubs in my experience. All are uber durable though.

The Eye2 and iWedge wedges are nice as well. They have a unique sole grind which can be an acquired taste though. These clubs are more unique compared to the Tour model wedges. The Tour's are virtually identical in playability to the various Vokey, Callaway, etc., wedges on the market. Very conventional. The clubs are capable as long as you are.

You said that the gorge is raw? Are you sure about that? And if that's true wouldn't it rust? (which I like!)

Gorge is unplated 17-4 stainless steel. Very corrosion resistant. No rusting.

The gorge and tour s are basically the same thing in my opinion. I did get the SS ones with the WRX grind, which is th same grind I've had on all the Ping wedges I've ordered.

I think they're extremely playable and just as good as anything else out there in the same price range. I personally liked the tour w the most out of all their wedges, but I personally like the finish on the gorges the best. You can't go wrong with my of em, and I recommend the WRX grind if anyone is looking for something super versatile.

Ordered the new Gorge wedge with my i20 set last week. I have a 56 tour-s that I love, and I needed something for between the PW and the 56. For some reason I thought the PW was 50, but is actually 46. So I never had something to close the gap. I have my course pro looking into whether it's better to bend a 52 or a 50 to a 51 to fill the gap nicely.

I have a set of Tour S wedges (52 56 60) and they really are terrific wedges. Prior to these I played Vokey TVD M grinds. Personally I think the shape is perfect and the larger head size inspires confidence. I can hit any shot I need to with the 60/10 around the greens and it's money from the sand. Even played 9 tonight and forgot the 60* at home, but was able to execute all of my shots with my 56/12. About as user friendly of a wedge as you can find.

I played a 588 rusted 60* Cleveland forever. It was a great club but the grooves got beat down so I got a 58* TS gorge to replace. Really got along nicely with it. I had a Tour W 56* bent to 55* to fit between my 50* i15 U wedge and the 588. It performed but the finish was too chrome between those versions. I picked up a 54* SS gorge with a KBS shaft from the BST and it has worked wonders. The gorge wedges are fantastic. Are they so much better than the Tour W and S, not significantly, but I do think they they are slightly better with the groove work and the finish is really nice. I won't be changing for awhile.

Im debating between the tour gorge and the new Mack Daddy wedges. I hit both pretty well. Seems like the Mack Daddy spun a bit more. I guess it depends if I want to go all ping to match my i20's and my Piper putter. Has anyone else try both of these clubs?
