Is it me, or does the normal xcg7 look a fair bit bigger than the beta, even though it is only a little bigger. Seems like the beta sits mid-way between the pro and xcg7 which could be a good option as long as the deep face does not make too much difference to launch

They look good, but I agree with comment on price in the review. The price is just too steep! I don't pay that price for a driver that I use on 12-14 holes, or for a putter that I use for half my shots. Why would I pay that price for a club that I am going to use maybe 4-5 times per round?

I'm sure the club is great, but it can't be that far ahead of the competition. Good luck to those of you that find enough value in the product to justify the price.

TEE CB Pro looks awesome but ya, that's just too steep for a fairway. I know it comes with a Speeder but still.

This and the PING Rapture would be sweet sticks to have but not for 449 ->500

would love to try out the Pro version on real turf to see how the rails work. The price is steep but if you were to get the SLDR with the TP shaft its $349 so I guess not that bad a deal. I also get that most of us would rather have our own shaft attached to the head but just saying...

[i]I bought the XCG7 beta driver, 3 wood, and 3 hybrid when they first came out. The 3 wood is really good, driver is still under review, but the 3 hybrid is the flat out best hybrid I've ever played. It's great from weird lies, hits the ball high, and the feel and sound are second to none. It has a nice little "tink" when struck well. In regards to the driver, I think the red tie x flex shaft was just to stiff for me, so I just put the stiff red tie in the head. I haven't had a chance to hit it yet. Maybe next week. I had the red tie stiff in the hybrid and wood and love them so far.[/i]

I like the looks of the xcg7 and the cb pro better than the beta (wtf are we still talking about golf clubs with these names?)

How forgiving was the pro for a players club? How about for a 1 that toe hooks it around the course? Doesn't seem to be much room for error low and on the toe but I still want it.

Works well in the rough as well. You can use the golfsmith sales on these to bring the price down to $200. Cant beat that

Great review.About the shafts, are they original shafts or made for exotics? Similar specs?
If made for Tour Edge , can i expect the matrix to play similar to the real one that i have in my other wood?

I tested every 3 wood on the market and the beta version was the longest and straightest with the black tie.

Great feel as well.

I bought one after my demo day on a launch monitor.

Love the look and performance.

I'm demo'ing the cb pro today. It's a nice fairway wood that cuts through the turf really well on the fairway. It has a decently hot face, but nothing special. The Speeder 757 shaft is a good fit for this club.

That's all it is though. Just a nice fairway wood. It's not $500 nice.

Other than price, the other negative about this club is that it is a pain in the butt to keep the grooves between the rails clean. It gets clogged after every shot and if you don't clean it out, it kinda negates the purpose of the rails. Also, the stock Iomic grip feels cheap. I regrip all of my clubs anyways, but I would something better than this on a $500 club.

tried the beta today and really enjoyed the feel and setup. Might need to buy me one of these babies....
