APPLY: Graphite Design MAD Shaft Testing! 4 Members Wanted! Apply here!

Recommended Posts

We're looking for 4 GolfWRX Members to test their new Graphite Design MAD shafts. Want to be part of the test? Read how below.

ABOUT GRAPHITE DESIGN MAD SHAFTS:

The team in the R&D lab at Graphite Design Japan went all out when designing the new Graphite Design MAD wood shafts. A challenge was issued to them to design a shaft that would alleviate the ill-fated golf ball flight issues that results in a lack of Maximum Accuracy and Distance. Accepting the challenge, they went to work in an effort to develop a cure.

The new Graphite Design MAD shaft is their response. Available in two strengths, the Graphite Design MAD Standard strength wood shafts are available in a 45g A and R Flex, 55g R and S Flex, 65g R and S Flex and a 70g S Flex and is designed for the intermediate to advanced players.

The Graphite Design MAD PRO strength wood shafts are available in 65g S and X Flex and 75g X Flex and is designed for the advanced to professional players with higher swing speeds.

Make an appointment with your local professional golf club fitter and request that he write you a prescription for a new Graphite Design MAD shaft to cure your ball flight issues that may be holding you back from achieving Maximum Accuracy and Distance.

Yes, I would love to participate in the testing. The shaft looks awesome, I like the first responder theme. And being a first responder it is nice to see that kind of theme worked into a product, really don't think I've ever seen that before.

Please explain briefly how you would approach testing these shafts

I would test my current gamed shaft and the New GD head to head out on the course playing a ball per shaft off the tee. track distance and dispersion. I will also take the 2 to a hitting simulator and test numbers to see which better suits me.

[*]Please explain briefly how you would approach testing these shafts. I have been trying different shafts recently and would approach this the same way. Use a launch monitor and use the data to determine how the shaft fits me and how it stacks up against the other shafts I have. I will test against my Fuji Pro as well as a Tensei Blue (and who knows what else I will have by then). Will take to the course and see how it performs out there, I like to move the ball a good bit so sometimes this is easier to see/feel on the course rather than inside on a launch monitor. I would really appreciate the opportunity to test these out, they look great.

[*]Please explain briefly how you would approach testing these shafts: I would compare the shaft to my current Black Tie, which has been a much needed spin killer for me, using a local store that has a GC Quad. The monitor testing would be beneficial to better show distance and dispersion differences between the two shafts. I would then take it to my home course in order to see how it performs in typical Oklahoma wind and how it compares on course to my normal targets with my current set up.

[*]Please explain briefly how you would approach testing these shafts. Compare against my gamer and a couple others I have for launch, spin, etc. I have the ability to get on Trackman. After I dial in the settings I would test on course at my home course. I know my distances there so will be easy to see where drives end up compared to normal.

A longtime fan of GD. My first one was a YS-7 in a Porsche Design driver that was Brad Faxon's. Played YS series forever in drivers and fairway woods way back in the day. Also a GAT 75 in a Titleist 975J. Also played Purple Ice 85 forever in a Sonartec 3 wood. Also a YS Power 65 in the original R7. Most recent was Pershing 65 in a Ping G10 and an FT-5. Kind of lost touch when the shafts started becoming so expensive around the DI release and US Spec shafts became a smaller part of their lineup.

Would conduct on course and indoor simulator testing using GC Quad launch monitor to compare data of current shaft versus other options. This information would then help determine if the shaft was a proper fit and a better option than what I currently play with. The on course review would focus on playability and how it performed in a real world setting.

[*]Please explain briefly how you would approach testing these shafts My intent is to find a shaft which will help me increase my launch angle. This is why I listed a desired shaft in Ref flex. I will compare numbers on a monitor then put the shaft in play on the course to valuate ball flight. I will compare your shaft to a few I have here at the house. My game and shaft choices are based largely on feel. I plan to not only compare performance in numbers but also feel and my ability to play the shaft (connect with the ball).

I have acces to a track man and flightscope at my course that I would use to test. I also have the latest shafts the everyone is all hype about to test against such as.. Tensei Pro White, Atmos Black Tour Spec, Oban Kiyoshi White and Speeder EVO 661 with PXG tips that can all be donated against. My home course is a great place to test out shafts on the course as well. I will give a very deatailed review with no bias as I already have many shafts. I am just looking for the best shaft for my game and I think this is the one. I would love an oppurtunity to test this shaft with trackman numbers as well as much needed on course ball flights.
