Replace for Nike RZN Tour Black

I love this ball. Looking for a replacement because I only have 2 dozen left. Any suggestions? Likely leaning to ProV1.

Yeah, love them, the last generation (blue) RZN Black was a beast, i went Pro V1 (2017 model), closest i could find in terms of performance, but you can also try TP5s and the Chromesofts, as they both seem to do the same, but just didn't quite do as well for me as the V1.

I will prob go Srixon XV when I run out. Plus I like the alignment aid better on the xv

I went with the Bridgestone B330-RX and have been very pleased.

I wish i could order a pallet of these... ANd had the money to pay for them. Hahaha

I liked the RZN Black a lot and went to the Srixon Z Star XV, Taylormade TP5x, Chromesoft X. I didn't like the V1 as much as these coming from the Black, and the three I switch between all have similar performance. Depends if you want similar feel or are willing to go to something a little more firm or something softer.

I think the ProV1x may be a closer fit? I came from the RZN Tour Black and loved the higher compression. I found that the B330, now Tour B has a good click to it. I've transitioned to the Srixon XV which is pretty good. The cover seems to be a bit softer than the RZN Tour Black but I enjoy it a lot.

Closest I've tried so far have been the Tour B XS - I picked up 2 dozen of the Tiger edition (as they were cheaper than the standard ones lol) and they do seem very similar.

Only difference is they don't explode off the driver in the same way as the Blacks, but otherwise they are very similar.

AVX is worth a try too, not as good off the driver again, but comparable everywhere else.

But of all the Nike stuff I'll miss, I'm pretty sure the Tour Blacks will be joint number one with their blades. Never played a ball that performed like it.

I've got six dozen left so I'm OK for a season or so but I'm still trying to phase in a potential replacement down the road.

Used Platinum for a while, loved it. Switched to TP5 once it came out and they feel very similar. TP5 might spin a touch more overall but I am not good enough to tell much different between the two. Maybe TP5X is even closer... never put them up on a monitor together so I can't be certain.

Why did Nike change their ball so often????

I was a RZN Platinum guy. I do like the Bridgestone B330. Havent tried the new Prov1s yet but I have heard good things about the v1x

I bought 12 dozen from sportchek (Canadian box store) when Nike quit making equipment and they were marked down to 25 dollars a dozen.

I think they were 49.99 CAD full retail.

srixon XV. no doubt.

Been playing different balls since running out of my RZN stash. Found a rzn Black in my old bag and played it today. Man do I miss this ball. My favourite ball still by a mile.

Think I may just have to buy recycled RZN Blacks in future until supplies run out.

Out of all other balls I’ve tried I’ve found the Prov1x closest in feel to the Blacks

Ya i think the XV is a good replacement for the RZN black as well.

After trying out a number of different balls this season including Srixon xv& Prov1x, I’m happy to have been able to play the rzn blacks again by buying them recycled. 90% of “ mint” have been mint so I’m delighted to extend my use of my favourite ball

I did the same. Someone who worked for me used to have a pt job at Atmosphere so she shared her discount on these and I got a pile of them for $20/doz. Gonna miss em when they're gone, but I still have a couple doz left which should carry me through next season since I don't lose too many.

Re: OP, the TP5x has been fantastic. Safe to say I like it better than the RZN black. For me it spins a little more on short shots, and on full shots and driver it's longer. I love that ball, although not enough to pay retail. I'll be looking for them in the discount bin at the end of this season.

They bought the patent for the RZN process in drivers. Not the ball design.

I've been literally buying up as much used recycled stock as possible from the usual ball sites.
