Maybe the cover and mantle. They’re showing 3 piece balls but the tour RZN was 4 piece

Nice to see these folks trying to make it on their own. I wish them luck in a crowded and theoretically shrinking market.

The Nike RZN Tour Platinum was a fantastic ball. I had heard that, shortly after Nike’s “exit” from the hardwoods category, the ball patents were sold to a Korean company (I think). I think it was to the plant that actually manufactured the balls to Nike’s specs. I guess this is it.

I’m surprised they waited this long to launch. They probably would have gotten more traction if they had introduced sooner. But with the success of ProV alternatives like the TP5 and TP5x, I wonder if many RZN Tour loyalists will still want these? I don’t see any pricing on the website - just a redirect to the email contact page when you click “customize and order.”

yeah. I sent an email inquiry to try and find out what the deal is with them. I will post what they respond. If they do.

Nike RZN Tour Platinum is great. I picked up multiple dozens for my sim when Dunhams was clearing them out for like $8 a dozen. Will be interested to see pricing on these.

Good digging. I am still super curious about this company.

I sent them an email a few days ago and got response. They will start selling balls next year and will be at the PGA show this year.

Searched PGA Show 2020 exhibitor list, RZN Golf's booth is 2701. It seems RZN and Nibilium Import Export S.L. use the same booth.

Cool. I have emailed them back and forth a bit. Sounds like they will be more of a direct to consumer model.

Just the full story. From what I understand this is the ball plant that produced the rzn balls for Nike. How where they able to go out on their own, I am curious if they are changing anything, or if it is the same ball. Stuff like that.

When will their site allow purchases.

I saw them at the show and was given a sleeve of the tour to try. I still play the RZN Tour Plats so should be interesting to see how similar or different they play.

Unfortunately no.

Ok so I'm finally back home from the show/playing 18/the bar.

RZN gave me 3 sleeves to try; the red (3pc), blue (2pc), white (2pc) - but they were out of the black (4pc) by the time I got there late Friday afternoon.

They were giving away sleeves like water apparently. There were no more 'black' balls in the booth at all by the time I was there to even hold. Bad business IMO but it is what it is.

First impressions; the people there barely spoke english. Seems to be an affluent South American businessman who is importing them for the factory. That aside it seems the factory who is making these is doing good things.

Points from talking to the 'main guy' at the RZN booth at the PGA show:

1- No DTC sales, B2B only through distributor.

2- No expected date for sale. "They only got 7 batches made initially since October 2019 and its all pretty much gone".

3- Its the same as the Nike balls "plus advancements"

4- Every ball down to the 2 piece has the RZN core

5- the 4/3pc are urethane, others are surlyn, all made in-house

6- The booth guy said " [...] we have the trademarks that Nike used [...]" but when I specified patents he couldnt confirm

7- The factory making them seems to be multipurpose - also doing 100% recycled golf balls and also 'refinishing' ProV1-series balls for USA-based resellers (and they will be releasing their own box of refinished balls similar to 'Reloads' at Walmart to cut out the USA-resellers)

Thats really all the info I could get.

My impression is that they wont be making much of a dent in the ball market. YMMV but if these patents were picked up by a major OEM brand it could go far, but with the way this company seems to be run I dont see it doing much.

Oof. Good luck... I am not sure they will survive based on that.
