Phil on Feherty

Great interview... how much was actually of Phil. Here are some changes to the show I think would help. MORE INTERVIEWING!!!!

I am happy to own a PVR. I recorded both episodes to watch back to back. I had an hour and did it in less. I hit fast forward over Feherty's preamble after every commerical break. For some reason before every commerical they recap whats going to happen in 2 minutes and take a minute to do so. Its like the end of a sit com saying "watch next week for" except it happens 5 times or so an episode. The average commercial break is 2 minutes which they were during this interview. Add on Feherty's preamble and the whats going to happen after the break and that's 4 minutes. Average commercial time per 1 hour is roughly 15 minutes. therefore less than 50% of this program is actual interview.

Watched Part II last evening. :clapping: Phil presents himself as a fun, yet respectful man with his values in the right order. Its no wonder he has a strong following. Best was when he was talking about all variable aspects he considers before a shot. Not many tour guys ever talk about such subjects, possibly on account, listeners haven't a clue. :beach:

TV teet sure must be sweet.

I think the better question is why is he wearing a leather jacket that looks like it was stolen off the set of Grease?

...with a members only collar......

"Members Only" was my first thought when I saw that jacket though I'm sure it's a $2500-3k jacket, lmao

Phil never struck me as a black on black Sopranos kinda guy??

I posted elsewhere about his giving Bones one "veto" a season when he comes up with one of those hair brained shots and he spoke to when Bones exercised his "veto" when Phil wanted to hit a knockdown under tree branches, skip it off of the water of a green front pond and run it up onto the green???

WTF???

Have a great week?

My Best,

Just got around to watching part two of Phil on Feherty. That was a great interview, with Phil really opening up about what is important in his life.

It's kind of fun looking back and remembering the many highs and lows of being a Phil phan. As a great Jimmy Stewart movie was aptly titled, it's a wonderful life. :)

Agreed, they need to get to business and less of Feherty outside of the interview. People that are tuning in, aren't doing so to listen to David.

Feherty actually is a pretty good interviewer. He really gets the subject to feel comfortable and open up, it seems. He just really needs to learn he's not that funny in the watered down version of himself. "Cooky" or "zany" may work at 4pm on a tour broadcast, but not for a serious interview. I'm sure the uncensored, untethered feherty would be a riot, though.

He is very good at interviewing. I just don't think the parts with the live audience and him reading jokes off a teleprompter adds anything to the show.

I agree.

I know bills need to get paid but this seems more of a filling time than paying the bills. I'm trying to think of other shows with as much "filler time" and I cant think of any. Thats including some of the shows my parents and grandparents watch.
