I doubt these heads were made by MT, if that's what's being implied. The entire point of Phase 1 was to get him into a TaylorMade branded head, so it made sense to go that route. I have to believe the next phase was all about getting him into a TM made head. It wouldn't make sense for him to switch into another MT head.

 

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that MT assembled the new sticks, however, given that he's built Tiger's irons and wedges for years.

Anything’s possible. That’s why we’d like to see if they carry artisan serials or not. Still artisan wedges for sure. No red plug in the end of the hosel. And you can read the artisan serial in the last wedge pic.

Blew up the Instagram pic up and you can see a serial number on the hosel. Looks like same font as the artisan numbers but can’t make it out. Could be TM serial I suppose just as easy.

Hard to say with certainty, but I agree that looks like a serial number above TaylorMade word mark on the hosel. Looks to me like it might be similar to the serial on the wedges: TM.xx.xx.

 

I don't think that would prove much, as you say. Could be a TM serial, or if I'm right that it's a TM head assembled by MT, he could have added it when assembled. To my knowledge, the wedge heads are milled by TM and assembled by MT, so this would match up.

Yea. But you take a MT grind programmed into a Cnc machine. Then you have MT blueprint and assemble them. What did TM do ? Push the cnc button ? Not really trying to argue but I just think it’s 99% MT any way you slice it.

TM guys have had trouble making him a putter ( juno) for Pete’s sake. The Ardmore was just a pick it up and “whoopsie I like how this looks “ type fit.

Greg, what an incredible opportunity to take close-up shots with his putter - thank you for that. Unprecedented. I love the nicks and love, and the wear on the sweetspot.

 

I'm guessing that's the M5 435 head? Also, I bet that M5 Titanium head set to beyond lower (I think) goes forever. Those D+ LTD TX shafts must be something else, so many of the bombers are going to that.

That is NOT a 435 it's the 460 & the D+ LTD's are fantastic shafts......Dirt cheap on the bay as well. They may not be as long as say the PO or some of the wild Aldila's but they are deadly accurate if you are used to the whiteboard profile. Aim, Good Swing, & the ball finds the fairway all the time.......Mitsu gotta be mad he's still gaming a 3 year old shaft they want out of the lineup.

Dude, search ebay, you can get them with the Titleist tips in 70 & 80 for like 50 dollars....swap tips and your good to go. Titleist has been tipping those .5" in the 70 & 80 gram version which is about perfect for this shaft IMO.
