Which premier courses rent quality clubs? I’m in Dallas on business and want to get a round in? Tierra Verde?

Conditions are usually if not always good there.

i've wanted to play Waterchase but haven't made it out yet. Thoughts?

Nice course, played it today. They had some seriously unfair hole locations today but it’s a really good course. Greens were good and the course was in very good shape.

Joe and I had a pretty good go of it today so thanks joe. Between his length off the tee and my short game it was a lot of fun.

Yup - good day; enjoyed the format a lot. -4 for the day was decent; they split into only 2 flights; -12 and -10 for 1st flight; +1 and +2 for the 2nd flight. We needed to play much better or much worse :)!!!!!

If you don't mind driving about 30 min north of Dallas, there is a town called Gunter and the course is called The Bridges Golf Club. This is a Fred Couples design - a fantastic track, long, great variety of holes and always in great shape. Very inexpensive to play (around $40-$60). Word of caution - play the right tees and know that the wind blows with a vengeance there!

 

Played it several times (but not this year) and have always enjoyed my round.

Played Texas Rangers again this past weekend and enjoyed the round. I played it the first time back in May and have been wanting to go back and give it another shot since then. It's just such a unique course for the area. It has a very linksy feel to it and the conditions are very nice. I still find it a little pricey at $120 for a non-Arlington resident on the weekend, but palatable considering I will only play there a few times per year.

Played Grapevine Muni today for the first time and was really impressed. Great layout and one of the courses you can actually walk in the DFW area. We had a foursome and walked it in around 3:40.

Grapevine is arguably the best muni in DFW! My personal preference is GGC over Texas Star. I think the course conditions and layout are much better. Also, can't beat the price of GGC compared to Texas Star.

Played Frisco Lakes this past Monday. Although really wet due to recent rains, course was in good shape for mid-January. I don't play many public courses since I'm a member at a private club but this is just a really, really fun course to play. Well worth it. Along with Heritage Ranch and Bridlewood.

Played Texas Star today and it was in fantastic shape. Greens were fast and we played in under 4 hours with a tee time of 8:30.

I will be in the DFW area in a few weeks for work and will have time for a round after I land. Looking at courses close to the airport and was thinking either Grapevine or Texas Star. Which one would people recommend?
