Bringing back the old Faithfuls. Who is doing it?

Had enough of going left with my Aeroburner 4w. Back in comes the G25 4w. Yes I am losing 10-15 yards, but I am in play.

 

Out goes my Rustler putter for my Nike Drone 2.0 starship enterprise wannabe putter. I pull less 10 footers with the Nike.

 

Dropping the 26 hybrid. Not as accurate as the 4i. In comes my old 53 TM TP for tight lie chipping. Compliments my set matching 50 degree.

 

The old reliables remind me its me and not the clubs!

 

Anyone else dusting off the old Faithfuls hoping for solid season starts??

Cant beat the old classics there is just certain clubs i keep going back to.

 

Got the aero burner tp driver in at the min but thinking of going back to my rbz. Problem is i have had loads of range time but barely any rounds of golf , hoping i can get out on sat for 18 and the weather stays good.

 

Good luck on getting your bag set now is the time to do it with the season just starting out here in the UK ;)

All that matters is being in the fairway. Distance is irrelevant if it means approach shots from the rough or from behind a tree. The G25 4W is one of the best FW's ever made.

Thinking about bringing back my Ping BeCu Eye 2's with G10 Hybrids for my Mens League. I was going to say I would use my modern driver and fairway wood but does Golfwrx consider the R9 Super Tri and K15 fairway wood modern? :swoon:

No kidding. G25 is an old faithful? I am back to playing a Cleveland Launcher Titanium 13* and OG Cleveland Launcher 17* 4 wood. Hybrids are 20* and 23* Nickent 3dx DC. :)

Ping Eye 2's for me. Bounced around with 6 other models of Ping irons. The Eye2's win. Also fiddled around with a bunch of putters and went back to my Kombi. Hideous, but works for me.

Ha I took my 712cbs out to go back to my hogan 1999 apex irons. Started hitting it a lot better too. Recently I picked up some mp64s and am loving them.

I got my mizuno pro 300s out the other night and was hitting it better than a ping g or m1. I guess it would be considered a mini driver now at 300cc and 44".

Last season I went back to Callaway RazX hybrids and a FTIZ imix driver. They stayed in the bag for several months.

G25 4 wood is indeed solid, but the g25 fairways just had a tendency to draw a bit. The OP was already saying the aeroburner was a hinderence due to draw bias.

 

Opening up a G series 5 wood (or g30) could resolve that easily.

Also the G and G30 have a bit less soon than the g25 (for me) and for most people that adds some yards.

My wife bought me an R1 driver a couple years ago for my birthday. After 2 seasons it's still so inconsistent I hate even pulling it out of the bag. But I keep trying because I know she spent alot of money on it and I want to get comfy with it. Took my old 9.5 Nike sasquatch to the course today and just like old times, right down the middle most of the time. Maybe I can give the nike a white paint job? Then again, that may be what's messing me up!

My FW is a 975F. Gotta be 15 years old. It doesn't matter though because I hit it well.

I may stick my eye 2 3 iron in the bag to replace my g30 4 iron.. I can hit the 4 iron just not every time consistantly like the other clubs..

I just put my Eye2 +'s back in the bag. I have also had about 6 different drivers in the last 2 seasons, but I keep coming back to the my good ole' reliable 910D2.
