Bringing back the old Faithfuls. Who is doing it?

Just picked up another set of J38 DPC off eBay... this is the third time gaming these clubs for me. I love my Z745s but they can be a little more demanding on the off days for me, so I figured why not grab something that may offer a little more forgiveness? I knew the 38s were solid for me already so I jumped on a cheap set on ebay... the 745s aren't going anywhere, but the J38s are in the bag for the last couple rounds and I can already see the difference. Trying to simplify this damn game gets overlooked far too often.

Had enough of going left with my Aeroburner 4w. Back in comes the G25 4w. Yes I am losing 10-15 yards, but I am in play.

Out goes my Rustler putter for my Nike Drone 2.0 starship enterprise wannabe putter. I pull less 10 footers with the Nike.

Dropping the 26 hybrid. Not as accurate as the 4i. In comes my old 53 TM TP for tight lie chipping. Compliments my set matching 50 degree.

The old reliables remind me its me and not the clubs!

Anyone else dusting off the old Faithfuls hoping for solid season starts??

Had enough of my Aeroburner as well, my 3W. Brought back the old school Cally Steelhead Plus. God I love this club.

Recently purchased another 915D3 driver and ended up with a 915F 3 wood as well. I hit the 915H and 915HD in the store and thought they both were fantastic, but held off on buying either. Decided to pick up another Titleist 585H 19 degree in excellent condition for a whopping $40. Great choice. While I think the 915 hybrids are really nice, the 585H is one of the best of all time for me. I never have left side issues with it like some hybrids.

Another hybrid without left side bias is the old Sonartec 19* due to a more neutral/open face. This is the only hybrid I can hit straight without opening the face.

Current Bag:

TM R7 425 driver 11.5

Cleveland Launcher #4 wood

Cobra King Hyper Steel #7 wood

BB Heavenwood # 9 wood

Titlelst DCI Black O/S irons 7 8 9 W SW, Lovett chipper

McGregor putter

Titleist Tour Soft balls

I remember that one. The MD. It was in a lot of pros bags at one time.

My MD replaced a 5 wood and that's saying something. Not what you would call an attractive club but goes like a rocket propelled chicken vindaloo through an upset stomach (crook guts in the vernacular)

Just put my 905R back in the bag and couldnt be happier. Coupled with a Pershing 65 stiff at 44 and D4, this thing is a low spin monster. Getting about 14 launch with 1900-2100 spin and about 145-150 ball speed, which is way better than I was getting with my big berha at 45.5 with fubuki stiff. Have old school Macgregor Tourney wedges and seriously thinking of putting a set of dci gold knock offs with S400s back in.

I put my Ping Eye2 XG wedge back into my bag this weekend. I was struggling in bunkers and the Eye2 is basically the greatest sand club of all time....Plus i was chipping standard stuff with my 56 mostly anyway. So i brought back the Eye2

Put my G15 driver with Project x 6.5 shaft ( blue model) playing at 45" back in the bag.

Trying to love an r15 or M1 driver BUT can't hit them consistently . The 5-20 yard difference is not worth it.

My golfing buddy has told me repeatedly that I can only can sell the G15 to him. He feels that a $50 surcharge on my repurchase is fair!

Ping i20 hybrid with KBS tour X @ 39.75" @ 17 degrees is back in play. Only reliable hybrid that in non windy conditions give me consistent 230 high draws and is a great club to attack par 5s from the 220-240 range. Probably the most accurate option in the 17-19 degree clubs out there for me. I'm a long iron die hard and it hurts me to not have a 2-iron in the bag right now, but the hybrid is so much more playable off the turf and it's a shot I'm encountering a lot now that I'm playing longer courses in tournament play.

I may reshaft next year with a Speeder 9.8x @40.25" and get a stronger 4i to bridge the distance gap. Mad scientist/club enthusiast in me is already brewing up some new ideas

I managed to snag a 200 Tour Smooth Top 13º last year and have had it in the bag for a while now (albeit I haven't played much golf). I always wanted one during my fanboy days and at approx $40 it was a no brainer. Nice club.

Aside from that I've been using a centre shafted spider for nearly 7 years. Many other putter have been tried for the odd round but I always go back to it.

Driver: M1 2016
Fairway: Jet Speed Tour
Hybrid: Adams Tour Proto 19˚

Not that old but I took my Cleveland Custom XL to the range and it might be back in my bag depending on how the range session goes today. One thing's for sure, it's pretty sweet. Also brought back an original Ping Anser and was making everything on the green. Even though it was super light weight, it was a thing of beauty.

Maybe it is because they need grips so I just bought new irons? jk

That's good sound reasoning as far as I'm concerned. :)

Just kicked my Oil Can Newport 2 out of the bag for my Studio Style. Never thought I'd see the day.

Pit my i25 driver away(and sold my g30lstec), playing my tm xd580tp, and getting better distance and accuracy.

Sold my mp5s,z945s, and ap2714s, to go back to my mp4s (and even my pcb tours on occasion), but even now thinking to go back even furthur to my cleveland 588mbs, such a sticky sweet feel (though the s55s are haunting me from beyond the fairway....these will be my next trade/purchase)....but the 4s and 588s are both such good clubs for me it's a coin toss. Play my hogan cobra trusty rusty over my sm4s.....so, basically I stick to what works but love trying out new toys. Who knows, maybe 10 years from now I ll write, just went back to my mp5s.....
