Thinking about bringing back my Ping BeCu Eye 2's with G10 Hybrids for my Mens League. I was going to say I would use my modern driver and fairway wood but does Golfwrx consider the R11 Super Tri and K15 fairway wood modern? :swoon:

No kidding. G25 is an old faithful? I am back to playing a Cleveland Launcher Titanium 13* and OG Cleveland Launcher 17* 4 wood. Hybrids are 20* and 23* Nickent 3dx DC. :)

In my books, Cleveland Launcher series of woods is the set that I will hang on to forever. Spoke with golf buddies, they also think the Launchers were one of the best woods Cleveland ever sold.

My trusted Cleveland Launcher 15 degree 3 wood, the head is not much bigger than today's pricey Hybrid clubs .... I can hit any shots from any lies (except rock) with this gem with plenty of distance.

My 735.cm's always end up back in the bag over my Nike VRS coverts. The coverts have more distance, but no feel. Im consitantly straighter with the Titleists.

I recently acquired a set of Mizuno T-Zoid Comp Irons (3-PW) with stock R-Flex graphite shafts... Whoever had them before me didn't use them much because they were easily 7.5-8/10 for a set of 15+ year old clubs.

I love golf

Driver:  2018 Cally Rogue 10.5* (Set to 12.5*)

Fairway Metals:  Ping G30 14.5* and 18*

Irons:   PXG Gen3 0311P (4-G) MMT80 Stiff

Wedges:  PXG 0311 Forged 54*/58* MMT80 Stiff

Putter:  Odyssey Stroke Lab “Double Wide” 34”

Bag:  G-Fore Daytona Plus (AKA: Vessel Lite)

My 1999 Hogan Apex irons (3-E w/ c-taper) are back in the bag ... having recently knocked out both MP 69's and MP 59's from the bag after brief (but fair) stints with each set.

The Callaway Razr Fit driver will never even be challenged. Can't beat that persimmon sound and feel ... and trust me ... the new drivers are NOT going to give me 10 more yards.

Newest thing in the bag is the one wedge that I carry ... SM5.

So ... "back" to old faithful? nahh ... old faithfuls never left.

Gotta love this forum! To the OP - I'm going back to old faithfuls too, but the G25 woods (and S56 irons) are the new-fangled stuff that I'm getting away from (for the moment).

I'm pulling out my old MP-32s and not quite as old Titleist 910s, as it seems I do every year at this time. I always play well with them but, for reasons I do not quite understand, somewhere along the line I start itching for something newer, more forgiving, whatever. I'm never completely happy with the newer, higher tech clubs, and I end up going back to the Mizunos (or a set of 1999 Hogan Apex, among others), only to start the cycle over again.

It would be a lot easier to commit to just one set and let it be done (I get endless sh*t from my buddies at the club whenever I change sets), but what fun is that???

I have a set of Callaway xHot Fairway's that I just can't get rid of. No matter what I think I like better I have yet to find anything that can stay in the bag and perform better. I have the 3,4,5 and always have two of those in the bag depending on the course I'm playing. The 5 wood even has a rattle in it now but I'm afraid to take it apart in a worry that it "will never be the same" once I put it back together.

I have a buddy that keeps buying new drivers but when we actually play he still has the Superdeep in the bag. Last week he put it under a M1 head cover so I would not give him crap about it until at least the first tee box. As others have said.....All that matters is keeping the ball in the fairway.

I'm still gaming my 1999 Hogan Apex irons. I must have tried 20 sets of irons over the years and these old Hogans keep winning out. I'll probably be buried with them.

Almost forgot my old trusty Titleist 910 13* 3 wood. I can stripe show that thing even when nothing else is cooperating. If that club ever got stolen or damaged I would be lost.

Had enough of going left with my Aeroburner 4w. Back in comes the G25 4w. Yes I am losing 10-15 yards, but I am in play.

Out goes my Rustler putter for my Nike Drone 2.0 starship enterprise wannabe putter. I pull less 10 footers with the Nike.

Dropping the 26 hybrid. Not as accurate as the 4i. In comes my old 53 TM TP for tight lie chipping. Compliments my set matching 50 degree.

The old reliables remind me its me and not the clubs!

Anyone else dusting off the old Faithfuls hoping for solid season starts??

I play the 2014 VR Forged Combos. Incredible clubs. When I'm on, they are money.

But with work and life, I've had less time to practice. I brought out my old Vr_s forged irons. They might be the most underrated irons ever.

If all goes to plan I will have 1 set of irons & hybrids circa 2004 by the end of the month which will be straight back into play. I played these irons for some time around 8-10 years ago. It's not just the irons, but the shafts too. This will probably mean the i20s will go.

Driver is already 2006, but could do with a shaft upgrade so that I can middle it a little more. Nothing wrong with the head though.
