Message sent. Once my arm is healed, I am going to be doing a full Trackman session to get some solid numbers on all of these setups, and any that pop up before then. :butcher:

the rogue reminds me so much of the tp7hd in the day. the unicorn of shafts. a handful of guys are playing them too. CHIII, Perez, Walker, Westwood, Stallings, etc...

hard not dreaming about that in a 2.0 TOUR

TP7HD is still such a great shaft. Different feel than anything else I've played.

it's a shame that it still costs more than a used car.

i picked one up through a friend years ago (before my driver was stolen) for $300 - which was a third of the going rate.

I always thought the TP7HD was very overrated regardless of the price, I remember testing a lot of shafts at that time and I thought the Fubuki line when properly tipped was the best shaft of the era.

Tai, how do you think the Speeder 661/757 play true to flex of other shafts you've tried? For instance, do they feel stiffer, less stiff then the 6.2/7.2 TS..

For me, they play pretty true to flex, you just need to make sure they are tipped correctly. IMO, they feel a LOT better and smoother than the .2 TS series I have been playing and they load a bit easier as well. I guess the way I can best describe them is they are smoother and livelier than the TS which is just very stable and stout feeling.

I was going to ask you this exact question as well. Thinking of doing 661 in the driver and 757 in a 17* SLDR. You're finding the 661 cuts enough spin for you?

For me it did, mainly I wasn't looking for it to further lower my spin, I just wanted to make sure it didn't balloon. I was into my 3rd round with the setup before I hurt my arm.. so I don't have any more feedback other than the first few rounds, neither of them were on my home course unfortunately. The 661/757 should be pretty nice in the SLDR since that head is already so low spinning. Make sure to take it to a good fitter/builder to make sure he dials it in.

Sorry Tai, as soon as I posted that I remembered you're still on the shelf with your arm (hope PT is going well). I do fittings/demo days for TaylorMade and Adams, which means the bonus of easy access to a FlightScope. I've got a day off tomorrow, so am hoping to log some quality time on the monitor. I really enjoy my 12* SLDR 460 (set at 12.5*, ProLaunch Red X tipped 1"), but in the thick air here head winds seem to eat it up just a tad too much. If I do go 10.5 set to 11*, Speeder 661 is on the short list of shaft options along with ATX Green, Diamana D+, and the stock TP6.3. With a smooth transtion, I doubt the .2TS series and I would get along too well.

So I finally got semi-clearance from my physical therapist to hit a bucket of balls this weekend. It definitely went better than I thought, so I hit balls yesterday and played 6 holes. Didn't want to push it, but I'd say I'm at about 85% back.. distance was good with the driver, but short irons when I tend to hit down on the ball more still scare me and I'm very tentative through the ball. This week is my last week (hopefully) of PT.

Coming off an elbow injury, I'm really even more impressed by the CT 2.0 driver. The 661 is really easy to load and is a very forgiving shaft for me. I was hitting it pretty good and definitely exceeded my expectations for not touching a club in 2.5 weeks. I hit some really bad shots on the course off the toe and was shocked how straight and far they went. Was almost ashamed of how bad I hit a few balls for where they actually ended up on the course, but I am not complaining! Needless to say, toe shots are good :D The more I hit the CT 2.0, the more impressed I am with how forgiving it is. I hit about 5 really good ones in a row on the range and then hit the 430, I could barely hit it at first and then when I caught a few, the Covert was every bit as long. The 430 definitely had a more penetrating flight, so I'm not sure how they would have ended up on the course but the Covert is more forgiving than the 430 and 460 so far.

Would love to hear how the Tour blue compares to the KK and 661. Interested in the rouge too but seeing how I'm never going to own one, I'd rather not hear about how amazing it is :)

How much tipping in your 661? I remember swanry saying they come with 7" parallel tips?!?! When I hit the demo, which I'm assuming was untipped, the shaft felt much softer than my 7.2TS and even my D+. Wasn't able to hit the 757, which I was really looking forward to.

Anxious to hear how the Rogue plays.

661 is tipped 1.75" and the 757 2.5" in the 3WD. Seems like a lot of tipping, but really doesn't feel like it at all, ball flight is still really nice, I would say a mid launch with really good dispersion.

What's the paint like on that Rogue? It it smooth or textured? Does it feel like something that is going to come off?

Feels kind of like rubbery paint.. don't think it will come off, but doesn't strike me as being super durable.
