Official Bio Cell + Thread

I had both of these driver....now only have the Bio Cell & the Plus.

Real world testing, no launch monitor....
Cobra Bio Cell + with Tour AD DI 6s shaft
Taylormade SLDR with Matrix 5x3 White Tie stiff shaft

For me I was getting very similar distance out of the 2 drivers (SLDR carried just slightly further)....but the Bio Cell + was usually 5-10 yds further.  Both had very penetrating ball flights.  The deal changer for me was this....on my mishits with the SLDR it almost always gave me a really bad pull/pull-hook, which left me with bad second shots.  With the Bio Cell Plus, my misses were a slight fade, but still in the fairway & nice second shots.  The Bio Cell without a doubt for me is way more forgiving.

I'll add in another thing to ponder for you....I also have the regular Bio Cell with an Oban Kiyoshi Gold and it is every bit the beast that the Plus is for me...but even more forgiving than the plus.  I am playing "Point & Shoot" with the regular Bio Cell.

Thank you for that input eddiebigeddie! Now Im even more intrigued by the Cobra Cell+! I have the exact problem on misshits with my SLDR, last couple of rounds I had so many quick hooks with bad lies for my second shots I came to the sense of needing a driver with forgiveness all over the face.

Haha ok, damn! I think the standard Bio Cell could be really good too with a nice shaft but here In Sweden it's really hard to come by any aftermarket shafts for a reasonable price. But worth looking into! This monday I hopefully have time to go a golfstore and check out the Bio Cell line :)

I know you said you didn't have LM data, but for you, was the BC significantly higher launch than the BC+? Not sure if you compared them loft for loft. I've only tried the BC+ and absolutely loved it, but would be willing to check out the BC too.

I play the Bio Cell at 12 and was playing the Plus at 11.....the 12 was higher launch but it wasn't a huge difference.

They were pretty comparable.

I compared them side by side on the range and course with the same shaft. The Bio Cell is slightly higher spinning and definitely higher launching, but still very low spin relative to other drivers I have hit. I have heard on average it is only about 300 rpm's and from my experience, I would say that is accurate.

Thanks for the feedback, Eddie and WCM. I posted somewhere else that I hit that BC+ demo so well I should have just gone back to the store and bought that very one, dummy marks and all. Don't even give me the wrench or change the grip, haha. Shouldn't even be thinking about anything else like a BC, different shaft, etc.

quite a lineup Eddie, looks like you have a sweettooth also. Big question is which one of all those combos will be the go to?
The orange one, it matches the Reeses. (colorblind edit).

But seriously, those are some nice looking set ups, and from the sound of it, you hit all those pretty well.

Thanks for the comments guys. Sweet tooth, that's supplies for work...lol.

As far as the go to for me....right now it's been the Green or Orange Bio Cell. The Masters Edition is just gonna be wall art, the Zl was last yrs driver, still working with the Plus.

You guys suck, all of you. Hate every one of you. Here I am, trying to be the 'responsible' one and go with what I know works better for me right now (2Deep) and I read y'all ranting and raving about how AWESOME the Bio Cell + is. Thanks, thanks for that.

In all seriousness though, Cobra drivers have usually worked pretty darn well for me and the Cell+ caught my eye early on but the look of it turned me off. Reading a lot of the comments in here, the performance HAS to be there, and I'm sure I can get over the looks as I have with other funky looking clubs, at least for a while.

Kudos to all the good comments and reviews so far in this thread.

It never even crossed my mind to demo a Bio Cell, let alone own one. When the employee at GS handed me the BC+ to demo, I almost said no, if not for the fact that they were going to give me a free shirt for hitting a few balls with it. I thought it was one of the ugliest crown designs ever. I said what the heck, can't hurt, and swung away with it.

Now I'm working on pulling a few spare clubs together to sell so that I can fund a BC+ purchase with a little less guilt.... and I haven't even hit it outdoors yet.

Most golfers dont do well with ultra low spin....you need spin and mid spin is better for mist people....bio cell + was much better for me vs sldr...and more forgiving
Thank you for the input. That's precisely what I need, more forgiveness over the entire face.

Hearing this is making me get this driver. I am having the same problem with my sldr the misses are hooks /snap hooks it's just crazy and I don't understand it. I have the weight all the way to fade and the face wide open. Nice to hear I'm not the only one that has this issue with misses from the sldr.

In my experience, bad toe shots with the bio + result in a snap push draw that goes down the middle and only loses about 20 yards of distance. Most forgiving driver on the toe I've ever used.

My toe hits with the bio cell+ resulted in hitting the fairway and the ball being further out then I expected.

That's nice to hear. I have never had a hook or a snap hook miss until the sldr it's just crazy to me. Time to start hunting the bay.

Anyone with a blue one, if so how do you like the color? I found a great deal on a lh one with a x-stiif matrix shaft.

+1 on the Blue. It's sicko. Looks awesome with my 757, but will look even better if I can get my hands on a DI BB. Considering selling the 757 or trading it for a BB. Hate to let the 757 go, but I hit my black tie so dang well I think I could let it go if I had to.

Will the smaller head do any difference to the "standard" 460cc head? Less forgiving or?

What's different between the older ZLE and the Bio Cell+ in term of performance, sound, forgiveness and so on?

Thanks :)

I came from a Wishon 919THI (460cc) and notice basically no difference in forgiveness with the +. It is a great club. Choosing between the + and regular Bio comes down to preferred spin. If you want less spin and lower launch, go with the + or Pro. In terms of spin:
Most: Regular
Less: +
Least: Pro
