Scouring through the LPGA LOTTE pics, and seeing these in a few of their bags too...

These can't be released to the public any sooner...

As a side bar convo (and not to "totally" thread jack): What is you all's favorite MD2 (besides the "T") 58/60 grind AND why?

C, U or S?
[/quote]

Have both a 58u and 58c. (as well as 50s 54s, 56s).
C grind has been my favorite by far.
I like the S grind, but much prefer the C.

A 54* slate with a grind other than Standard would 100% be put in my bag

I also currently own several MD2's in slate......54s, 56s, 58s, 58c, 60s and 60c. I bought all these just to settle in on what would work best. As with many others, I chose the "s" grind to avoid the models with the more rounded leading edge. My preference is typically a set makeup at 54* and 58*. I originally achieved less bounce by first trying the 56* and 60* models and bent them to 54* and 58* and, thereby, reducing the bounce by 2* each, as well. While these were good when they first came out and sufficed, I eventually settled on my second set at actual lofts of 54* and 58* and at their stated bounce. I have since taken the 54* down to 53* but that's really it, and the bounce hasn't been too much of an issue.

That said, I've had special grinds on most of my wedges, over time, that actually resemble this TG, therefore, I'll do what ever possible to locate a couple of these and see how they play. I never thought Id say this but I've now gone from "0" Callaway sticks in my bag to both MD2 wedges, 3-W Apex Pros and a new X2 Hot Pro 3W.

Who would have thought this just 3 months ago? Awesome job, Cally.........the season looks bright.

I have the C in my 58* and like it quite a bit. I still think the leading edge sits a little high when you open it up, but I don't do that very often, so it doesn't affect me too much. I like it because it's much more versatile than the regular S grind as it takes a bit off the toe and heel.

Love the club out of the sand though, very easy to use. I've used the 52 out of the sand a handful of times when the pin is further away. S doesn't have any ill-effects there, but that's the only option available on the 52 as well. I think 54 is where they start offering the different grinds, but it might be 56.

I consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to wedges, but I have to admit the MD2's I ended up with were the LAST ones I saw myself liking by self fitting myself. Here is the quick story.

I originally ordered the 60U and the 56S because the U was advertised as a good wedge for diggers and I typically play a fairly standard sand wedge with 14* of bounce. I was fit last year into Vokey SM4's after an extensive wedge fitting the the full sole 56.14 was the best fit for me by far. The 60U was amazing around the greens but absolutely unplayable from any conditions that were relatively soft at all. I found it very diggy and it was clear the wedge wouldn't work for me. I could see the U grind being a great 62/64* grind but not on my lob...

Still trying to find a way to get the MD2's in the bag, I ordered the 60C. I was also fit into the Vokey 60.10 M-grind and although the C was higher bounce, the sole is similar (although more narrow) to the Vokey. Again, too much bounce and a bad fit for me. Couldn't really get consistent contact on anything, so back to the drawing board I went.

I decided to pull the trigger on a 56C and 60S really to just complete the entire setup and say I've tried everything - these, although my last attempt, ending up being the best fit. The 60.10S is super versatile, great on full swings with no dig, but plenty of relief to play the soft shots around the green. The 56.14C ended up being fantastic from the fairway on full swings (better than the S) and the C grind made it really easy to open up since I tend to play that wedge with an open face more often than not.

So I ended up with the 50.12, 56.14-C, and 60.10-S being the best fit for me, even though they were my last and final options. Just goes to show, gotta be fit correctly!

I currently have these MD2's: 54S, 58U/58S, 60C

I think I'm going to order a 58C to round out the selction until these release.

Thanks for all the great feedback on the "C" grind

Personally, I'd only want it in my 58*, which is my highest lofted wedge. If I had a 56/60 setup, I'd want them on both of those. I think they'd be best served for the touch shots around the green which require a manipulation of the face. That's where I think you'll see the most benefit.

The shape of these are much more traditional looking. I like the look a lot. I was pretty turned off to the original mack daddy 2's. I will have to check these out. I am definitely a wedge snob. I am currently gaming a Scratch and SM5 because I like how they set up to the ball. These look like they will set up nicely as well.

My only complaint is that the MD2's in 58-60 in any grind tend to have too much offset. I actually like a bit of offset in my 54-56 but not in the lobbers. When opened up or when playing a bunker shot with an open face the offest really sticks out.

Just got my 54* S Grind, 14 bounce, as well as the 58* C grind...but also a 14 bounce. Not sure how I feel about that. Haven't even hit them yet so I will know more soon, but what is the experience with you guys and the 14 bounce on a 58* wedge? They were gifts. I would've gone 10 for the 58, as my X forged is an 8 or 9.

Also, anyone reshaft their MD2s yet? I am considering either C Tapers or HI Rev, maybe Spinners, but prefer the lower ballflight shafts since my natural flight is pretty high.

Apex with Recoils should be in this week...in typical WRX fashion I caved after reading all the threads. And now this thread shows up...just as I declared that my RTX wedges were safe. Guess I should know better.

I agree on the paint fill for the putters but for I kinda dig the radioactive green on the wedges. Matches my bag...

Be interesting to see if some WRXers are able to compare the retail with the tour. I agree that I prefer the straighter leading edge on the Tour issue, but bottom line for me is grind. Prefer wedge grinds that allow me to open up and have that leading edge nice and close to the ground.

Webber, I know visually it looks like a bunch of offset but I think you will find it is more the shape of the leading edge that gives the appearance of offset.

Rodger Cleveland explained it in a Weducation video, I can't remember the exact terminology that he used but it was an explanation of how the leading edge gets more rounded in some of the higher lofts so that the wedge is more versatile from poor lies.

Has anyone been able to confirm the release date on these? I have heard everything from June to August.

I heard it was an elaborate April fool's joke from Callaway. To be released in Japan only.

Kidding, but I'm hoping it's June ... And hopefully the 58* aren't backordered like last time around.

Lol. June would be better than July or August... I wonder if they will be releasing the same lofts as the current RC wedge line?
