What putter did you just buy ?

Snap Sanzabar!

I love this putter. As someone who has an arc stroke but needs the alignment aids of a mallet, this is perfect for me.

Gotta love a Scotty

I am not a big Scotty guy, but I’ve been eying this one for a long time. Buddy of mine recently picked one up and I rolled it a bunch. My goodness, it sets up so well and puts such a great roll on the ball.

I am SBST, but this thing just works for me.

And that’s all that matters!

Damn this forum. Rolled one at the shop this weekend and walked out with it.

Okay, so I’m not the only crazy one.. wasn’t it just sooooo freaking smooth and didn’t it put just a perfectly straight roll on the ball.

Oh don’t worry, I’ll get it to the course and three putt, 3 times in the first 18 and hate it. I love golf.

Yesterday picked up a SC Circa 62 No3 off the classifieds and today ordered a Piretti Cottonwood 2 (and a Piretti wedge while I was using my 10% code, figured why not).

Been playing with my 350g Byron for a few years now and love it, but wanted to experiment with both heavier and lighter options as well as get something carbon steel and black in color.

Was happy to see the option of a top line sight line on the Piretti. There are a few putter I regret passing on and one was a Byron 006 with a top line alignment line....really liked the combo of that with a very flat and angular top line.

So now I’ll just be waiting by the mailbox....

And I bought a TP Mills off the classifieds last night too. So, after 5 years of not buying any putters I buy Three in the span of two days. Slippery slope indeed.

Although this was not my latest purchase, it is my most recent acquisition as it was a gift from my Closest Friend on the board, Mitch.

As most probably know from my prior posts, THE Wilson 8802 putter had been in my bag for the better part of the last four decades(a self bought BDay gift in 1976), probably 35-36 of those years, including my last season in the game.

Well, as is evident by the bottom pic, it will not be in my bag again, lol.

While I have more putters than any 8-10 sane rational individuals should have, and more 8802 designs than most even know exists, and I’ve got 2 8813’s(the Staff version of the 8802), I did not have a second THE Wilson 8802.

Until Mitch’s gift?

While my 8802, until Madison had Mr. Palmer sign it, was nothing special except for the fact that I made a lot of huge putts with it, and also had a few heartbreakers thrown in to humble me, Mitch’s gift has an incredible lineage.

That lineage can be best described in four words(I don’t count “Jr.” as a word?)~

Jackie Burke Jr.’s private cashe

Via JB Floyd(Ray’s Father)

If ya don’t know who he is, google him and learn something beyond what the latest greatest 28* 7i is ;)

Thanks Bro, even one eyed, I still see em goin in the hole with my 8802!!

Stay well Gals & Gents?

In the end, only three things matter~ <br /><br />How much that you loved...<br /><br />How mightily that you lived...<br /><br />How gracefully that you accepted both victory & defeat...<br /><br /><br /><br />GHIN: Beefeater 24

Picked up a Ping Sigma G Anser off eBay that has been used only a few times. Couldn't resist using that recent quarter end discount that was floating around.

Got a great price but will have to swap out the new Winn Jumbo Lite grip in favor of a PP60 that is more up my alley.

If anyone is interested in that Winn Jumbo grip, send me a note

Moving down to a 33-inch length versus the 34-inch G5i Anser I had been using

Beautiful putter, and a great storyline with it too mate. It's what makes these things come alive.

Beautiful putter there Richard, I think you know how I feel about 8802's - I'm getting a warm, tingly feeling just saying the f***ing word (apologies to Bill Hicks).

Great provenance on that beauty also. :-)

Maltby Moment X Putter w/ Super Stroke slim.

https://www.golfwork...<br /><br />Unfortunately the tour size head is back ordered so I went with the base head. Excited to try it out!

Looking at this as well or the tour model, Will be interested in your opinion. What concerns me a little bit is the heavy weight of the head. Should a heavy grip be used to offset the weight of head ? Or am I making a mole hill into a mountain like I can do at times?

Piretti Matera Elite w/ sight dot

Nice, I got my Cottonwood 2 in today. Piretti makes a very nice putter! The headcovers are a little cheap feeling (at least on their basic models, maybe the nicer putters get a better one) but the putter itself impresses for sure. Sadly going to have to stick it in a non branded cover to use it.

I've been playing with a Bettinardi BB32 for about four years I think. Somehow lost the touch with it, it felt too light as if I had to really hit the ball.

So I went for a fitting on a Scotty. Ended up with the SC Futura X7m, 36", 2x20G in the bottom and a SuperStroke PistolGT 2.0 CB on top. Used it for the first time in a round today and can honestly say I have my confidence back. :)

Slapping the ball around a bit, having loads of fun.

Not sure about standard piretti's but the elite, SE, and tour headcovers are all made in the USA by EP headcovers and are outstanding.

I just bought this beauty. An old school Taylormade Itsy Bitsy Spider with a slant neck. I believe these were only available in Japan and on tour. Way better insert than the newer Spider putters IMO. Can believe I found one in near mint shape. Only issue is an epoxied in brass counterweight. Quick shaft change and I’ll be in business.

Bahahaha sorry bud I ran the price up on the 801R. Couldn't see that thing going for $250. Was a nice pickup still at a great price.
