So I’ve been through a revolving door of irons over the last year and half. Buying one set and selling it for another. It all started when I sold a set of Nike VRS X halfway through last season. I had them for two seasons and loved playing them, but for some reason I thought I’d try upgrading but nothing really stuck. So I’ve been on the search for a new set of these and I found these on EBay for a decent price. The listing was 5-P so I also picked up the A wedge and a 4 iron (not pictured as it will most likely rotate in and out of the bag) to fill out the rest of the set. 
 

Looking forward to enjoying hitting my irons again as the sets I’ve had over the last year and a half just haven’t felt or performed as good as these do for me.

But, so far, it’s good on carpet. I still will game my 2.1, but I think the 3 has a place on some of the faster greens I play. I felt like I was able to put a more delicate touch on it. 
 

After some head to head I also have come around to say the DF3 has a better feel and sound, but this as the Accra shaft and my 2.1 is steel. 
 

I never mess with my putter - so this will be interesting. Decided to go with the green and white shaft. Going to look for weight kits or load it up with some lead tape.

Nice!  I think I’m going to buy the green star one since that is the model that SS has currently.  I may put it on my Proto and give it a whirl.

Stuff for an old man, fun set up. 588 Altitudes, 3-p, stiff flex graphite,  Smart Sole 4 50* wedge, and a SC in great shape,34”, like our son used in his HS career. Searched a while for the putter.

Thanks! My DF2.1 is blue with black steel. They had the Blue DF3 with black Accra or the green with White Accra. I liked the white shaft like on my Link, and the green looked pretty sharp. 
 

I definitely would NOT have chosen green without seeing it in person. Would’ve gone with orange or blue or red. But the green is so sharp!

Filled that gap between 3W and 4I today.  Stopped by Dick's after a sim session with the oldest son and there it was, hiding in a bag of lefties.  It was stickered as a demo sale with the grip plug proclaiming x-flex 2 hybrid.  Sales dude found the headcover and it went in the bag. Not a mark on it.

While not a golf club or equipment purchase, I bought these for the purposes of golf club making. 😄 I have the felt belt for finishing the ferrules and the 80grit for prep. (Seems like I'll need to be a bit careful that I don't sand right through the shaft LOL)

 

Once the clubs are done, all I'll need then are two new wedges, a putter, and a new hybrid shaft and I think I'll be finally able to call it quits with new golf purchases LOL.

(Excluding gloves and golf balls and maybe some new head covers LOL)

Unless the putter comes with a weight kit or it's a Scotty Cameron I'm just gonna load it up with lead tape.

 

My backup putter right now is Cobra heel shafted blade with adjustable weights. Did I try to get heavier weights? Of course not. I added lead tape.

Opps i did it again.....

 

Randomly checked again on the bay and found not only a 4 iron, but also a 3 iron. Naturally, i had to have them.......right ?

Found the correct weights online, (they sent me wedge weights before). Waiting to order some of the 10g upgrades.

Considering to get 2 more matching shafts, however, I do have some others lying around which i might try first as experiment.

 

The One Length project continues.

Got a few here….the qi10 max replaces a Cally OG Paradym that I just couldn’t get along with….the 3w replaced my 300 mini as I couldn’t hit it off the deck at all…and the hybrid is an oldie I loved and I still prefer my stealth udi 4i off the tee but as much as I play from the rough these days I needed a better tool for extraction purposes.

Finally got to measure my old irons to verify their lengths so I can establish the same lengths through the new set. The most significant differences are in the middle of the bag.

This is the one with the "USGA" established Lie angle. I measured the Hybrid I have at the stock length and it read 1/8" longer than listed, which accounts for a grip cap of 1/8" and finished length of 40.75" including only the shaft itself. So, I'd consider it blessed. 😄

Got a loft and lie machine, ones for putters and one for irons. Shaft extractor, cutting and ferrule turning, lie mat, flo tracer, full gripping station. 

 

I am open for business, but not too make money to help friends, tinker and have fun. If you are in the North Bay Area, hit me up.

Those are sweet. I currently game the Vapor Pro Combo set, so I'm a Nike club fan.

Tour Edge is so underrated. I have a 5 & 3 wood from them. They get the job done (when I actually swing properly) for a great price.
