Here's another item I picked up not long ago. Lately I've been working on my swing tempo, which at present is 24/8, but I'm looking to eventually increase it to 21/7, which is the tempo of most touring pros. The problem I'm having is that I live in a small apartment in a senior housing community, so I can't swing anything longer than a 9-iron. So I looked on Amazon for something that I could swing in my living room without fear of destroying furniture. I found this, a golf grip and swing trainer. It's about 26 inches long, and it has a weight port at the end of the shaft, along with a training grip. Perfect for swinging in tight spaces!

I recently did a full bag fitting and got to hit the Miura wedges, needless to say they left an impression!

Went for a 50* gap wedge to see how I get on. 9 holes of testing earlier and I’m keen on adding at least another Miura wedge to the bag.

Ok, I just got my new to me Stealth 2 and it looks like the previous owner only used the top 20% of the face. The sweet spot looks untouched. Is this a stealth thing or did homeboy have his tee WAY too high?

Hadn't planned on it but I did something different this time and got this:

I normally buy the individual clubs I need (or want) and I meant to this again. Went for a weekend trip to Noumea and hoped to get a 3w (for off the tees) at a golf shop there. Alas, it was closed but I also went to Decathlon (a billion+ annual revenue sports chain) which has its own golf brand: Inesis. You can find videos from Rick Shiels, Club Champ I think and James Robinson testing them. The 100 series is their beginner level club but as the model is discontinued it was even cheaper at about $200 for a 7-club set. So why not?!

 

The numbering is a bit funny but the lofts are: sw=56o, pw=45o, 8/9=39o, 6/7=30o, 4h=22o and the driver is 14o. I sold my driver last year swearing to never buy one again, as i spray the shots everywhere but to my surprise this 14o one is pretty good. Sure, a wild swing still bananas it out to the bush but easier '3w swings' make it behave like.... a 3w. I guess playing a 9.5o driver for the past 10 years was the mistake.. Now I am curious to try a 14o mini driver..

 

I don't like the look of the clubs much and the driver sounds tinny and somewhat loud but I don't care as long as it performs. And that they do. Lightweight but not floppy shafts, good grips, and easy to hit. 6/7i a bit longer than my other irons so I can reach one of the par 3s now (I am a half-setter and my next club is a 4i). So far so good.

UPDATE: I hit my first EAGLE ever with these! After 12 years of playing... Decided to put all 7 clubs in the bag - hadn't hit the SW, 4h and putter yet. Putter a pleasant surprise.

So, despite spending thousands of dollars on fancy clubs in the past, it was the $200 box set that got me that elusive eagle.. lol!

Yeah I find it funny how G430 Max got the nickname "cheat code" but this thing is on another level!

What happens after the vinegar bath. Will they go back to looking nice and old?  I have a couple MyDay’s one has aged great.  The other I bought used and it was all shiny.  Not really digging that look?

Pic is after vinegar and lite wetndry. I prefer shiny. I know many like the tarnished dark look. Not for me. Bought it as it looks As New for a 1982ish Ping. Having to bore out hosel as its 0.340ish, not quite at 0.355tt that i need! to reshaft easily. Ps its 329 grams Bare Head weight so im happy.

I’ve been building lots of 4-club short sets, usually 5 thru 9.  So I’ve been looking for non-major brand wedge in the 46* range to throw on the end of those sets.  
 

Came across this Proto-C Forged P2 wedge at 46.5*.  Head only for $25.  Looks to be in great shape. 
 

Now to choose a shaft.  I actually think I want something heavy and stable for those 80-100yd shots.  So I won’t be going with any of my light graphite shafts I use for iron builds.

Got this rocket launcher a couple days ago to fill out the gap between my irons and woods. I have historically not gotten along with hybrids, but I have hit this a couple times and it seems to be working great.

I have a round coming up on Thursday and there are a couple holes I already have in mind for this club.
