Yea I'm not a big fan of those kinda snakes.

 

 

Speaking of snake, that's the putting game we played. It's played outside any skins or team bets, last person to 3 putt has to pay out to everyone else in the group. It's fun because the guys who are 8-10's that we play with aren't bad putters and hit less greens so it's a pretty even bet. Gets fun on the last 6 or so holes. No idea where the name Snake comes from.

It puts a lot of pressure on the last few greens, as I learned yesterday. I was cleaning up on the bets until that stupid putt dove right and lipped out!

Doesn't surprise me. I've heard rumors there's a Florida Panther(beautiful cat btw) in the growth along 14 or 15. The hole after the par 4 with no bunkers. Any truth to that?

Never heard anything like that, but wouldn't surprise me. Saw what I thought was a Cougar at the old CC course, prolly just a Bobcat though.

Checked out the new XGolf location in Kalamazoo today. Pretty fun. Shot even par at Pebble and several under par at Turtle Bay, so it’s safe to say the simulator isn’t super realistic ?. A bit overpriced on the weekend, but the weekday seems more reasonable. Super friendly staff and nice layout, I’ll definitely hit it up again to stay loose during the winter months.

Looking to build a simulator in my house. I'm going to use skytrak for the simulator.

My issue is the cage itself. I'd like to use steel piping that can be folded for storage. Below is a crude sketch. Is this possible, if so where would one find these parts?

Here. http://allsportsystems.com You would buy the pipe itself at Home Depot. This place sells all the connecting pieces. I am in the process of designing one for our barn. I'm also looking at Skytrak.

If you’re up for a challenge, ask them to add the wind. Without wind you’ll definitely be under par on every course. Very easy.

I played this weekend at the indoor Topgolf at St. Ives. You have the option to play target games, zombie dodge ball, baseball or most importantly golf course simulators. The target game was fun for most skill levels. We had our wives with us so only played 2 holes of courses but it was decent. Putting sucks but you can set it for 10 foot gimmies which helps. Service was great and we had fun. We will definitely go again.

Oh and i looked on-line and TopGolf is booked solid this weekend (no surprise) but they said you can just show up without a reservation. How does that work? Do they only reserve a certain percentage of the bays?

Whoa, that's a toughie. Are you hitting one or the other on the drive up? A-Ga-M or GTR are convenient to Loch, but the drive to Arcadia is a solid hour and a half, and prolly closer to 2 hrs depending on time of year and time of day. Options between are limited, only Interlochen or Honor come to mind. If budget is not a concern, combine with a round at Kingsley and lodge at the Kingsley cottages.

Good plan. You have lots of lodging options in TC. Oh, just remembered. Loch is constructing on property cottages. Not certain of completion date, they were just starting to scratch when I left in Oct.

I do this kind of trip twice a year in Spring/Fall. Typically make TC the home base (some nice condos for rent on VRBO right along the water). Last time around we stayed on site at Arcadia for the first time and their accommodations were incredibly nice. Highly recommend it for a night. That being said, make sure to check GTC for deals depending on the time of year. Their stay and play in early late season can be pretty reasonable, especially if you are playing more than one of their courses.

We usually do mid August so deals are scarce. My experience renting condos/houses that time of year is that a full week rental is required. So I'm assuming we will have to rent from one of the golf resorts and then decide if we want to do a stay and play or bounce around paying rack rates.
