I don't think any of the Glide series wedges have the notch and, yes, they can be bent.

The gen 1 Glides have the notch.  I'm still using those, although I also have some 2.0 Stealths waiting their turn.

I truly didn't think that the notch was ever a part of the Glide series, but after a quick search I noticed it on the first generation.  I don't suppose that it's odd that they didn't continue the tech through to the next 3 generations since even traditionalists look for something a bit more "classic".

Just took my last G anything out of my bag….for now.

After 14 years of G irons, I’m close to taking them out the bag. Want something with less offset and slightly narrower soles so looking at t300/t200. Would be a big change for me as I haven’t played titleist irons for 20 years.

Just asking, you believe less offset is the answer? Or is it the wider sole?

Bit of both. I want something with a slightly narrower sole and something with a little less offset. My home course gets very dry in summer but is wet in winter. So don’t want blade type clubs as they just dig (I’m a digger) but I want something slightly thinner.

Plus I’ve played ping for 14 years. I also fancy a change.

Just asked as all I’ve ever played is Ping, Eye 2’s and now G425’s so I know no better 🙂

However I do play Cleveland 900 Tour Action 48*, 52* and 56* wedges and have good success with the lower lofted clubs and thinner sole as I tend to be a digger with the scoring clubs, especially in the wet!

No but between the Eye’s and the G425’s I’ve lost 10 yards with the wedge and utility and almost 20 yards with the sand wedge.
And the new G”s are supposed to be stronger lofts than the Eye’s.

 I don’t get it.

Maybe just hitting it thin?

No I loft ‘em plenty high but they just don’t travel as far as the old Eye’s.

I really think the lofts are just to weak with the new graphite RFlex shafts compared to the old JZ lite stiff.

That's interesting.  I put in a stint with some Eye2's recently, and found the distances quite short.  I wonder if you are over spinning the short clubs?  Do short iron shots spin back hard on the green?

So I took the G25s out last week - played 9 cause the temperature in Round Rock was 106. Shot my best nine ever (43) - hit some great iron shots frankly and yet, I could have shot better ... missed 4 short putts (1 for birdie, 2 for par, 1 for bogey).

So, how do I celebrate? Like a good Golf-WRXer - got a set of G425 irons and a SeeMore PCB Nickel putter on the way ... oh the agony!

I picked up and Eye 2 xg sand wedge and lob wedge as an experiment. I will say these wedges are SHORT as well especially compared to my tour W wedges. I think i will keep the Lob for the sand/greenside shots, but the sand wedge is gonna take some time to get used to. If i hit it the same as the lob wedge i'll be moving on from it.

No, I gained a club, club and a half switching from my g25s to my g410s and they’re the same specs bar moving from blue dot to black dot. Have to say I’ve been looking at new irons last week or so and played amazing with my g410 wedges yesterday…..

Hummmm, most of my iron shots are usually dead stop, 6iron on down will hit, small hop and stop. Mostly due to ball, I’m sure, but I’ve never had much forward roll with irons.
Short irons, wedges, either stop within inches or have a small amount of back spin, typically not more than two feet or so. This holds true for my old Eye’s and the new G’s.

That being said I have hit back to back wedges with both sets and the yardage difference between the wedges is obvious. Don’t know why.

Look at the Actual VCOG. It is IMO the most important number in the MPF equation. The 425's are .890 and the 410's are .846. The center line of a ball is 0.84 so the difference is negligible. Hell, the i59's and the i525's are higher.

I did look at that, and that’s significantly higher than average for an SGI iron IMO.  Look at Taylormade or Titleist.

I am 100% sure it is my crappy golf swing, but I was wondering how everyone is hitting the G series Long irons? I am struggling with anything past 7 iron in my set. I'm not sure if it is a swing speed issue or bad mechanics. I hit my g400 7 iron right around 160-165, so I'm thinking I should have enough swing speed to launch the 4/5/6 irons? I am hitting low ugly cuts or high weak fades. I'm sure its all bad mechanics, but wanted to get some feedback telling me its  you and not the clubs.

One thing, the 4 iron is the loft and length of a 2 iron of old, so I'd leave that club at home.

I've taken it to the range, but no way its gonna make the bag anytime soon. I could see it being a tee club on a windy day, but that is literally the only time i'd ever use it.

I have to be pretty dead on with my swing for the 4 iron in the fairway, let alone the rough. However today I hit a 182 yard par 3 flag high with it today which is pretty typical length for me.

It does work off the Tee but usually timing and mechanics are factors for sure.

Now that I've gotten a chance to hit the G425s, holy cow these things sound great and really fly! The best Gs I ever hit (previously owned G15, G25, G30, G, G400, G410). I have boxed up the G25s (my 2nd favorite G clubs) for a future backup travel set ...

Been loving my G30's but missing the Recoils.  I started to install the Recoils right after getting the clubs but stopped because the swingweight was too light.  Well...not being one that gives up easy, so today I both pulled the heads, and the CTP weights.  A torch on the iron face for about 10 seconds followed with prying out the weight using a small screwdriver and the deed was done.  I then shaved down the weight a little, followed by stacking on layers of lead tape.  Four layers to be exact, which brought up the swingweight to D0 - D3, and after the weight is installed, you can't tell it's ever been removed.

I’m beginning to get used to my Ping G irons and the L wedge I added is really useful around the 30-50 yd mark.

Going from the heavy, stiff, steel shafts of my previous irons, these are quite a change and I think they’re definitely better for me. I think I have some bad swing habits that were born out of having the wrong irons for me, so I’m kinda readjusting and putting things right.

My regular missed shot was a big old slice. Now I’m missing just slightly left, probably due to the corrections I’ve made and some overcompensation (fear of the slice), so I think that’s pretty good 👍🏻
