Had a few range sessions and some on course practice sessions with the G25s. Man these are easy to hit and work surprisingly well off of tight lies, which I initially had doubts on. They also fly a mile when I'm used to MP14 and 718 CB distances. 

 

I'm picking them up tonight after a shaft switch out. The CFS stiff is way too whippy and launched the ball comically high for me. My club builder had a set of brand new S400 tour issues that he threw in for an unbeatable price. I'm hoping that brings the ball flight down and I lose a few yards (so gapping is more in line with my existing wedges). 

Welcome to the club Habitual Flipper. Maybe you wont have to flip your Gs so soon.

The G25s are classics IMO. Some of the best and highly regarded of the G series. Hope you have a long lasting relationship with them.

Got me some G25's inbound as I type.  I've been experimenting with different sets (see Dirt Cheap Irons threads,) but to me nothing is as cool as the G's.  I have some G425's, but my local course is in rough shape and I don't want to thrash them too bad, plus the 25's are some of my all-time favorite G's so how can I go wrong with another set?  It's crazy how geeked up someone can get over some 9-year-old irons, but I'm unapologetic.  😍

Right there with you. I've owned g30 and g410. Always wish I had owned g400, but mostly g25. G25 was my unicorn. I picked up a 3-pw set on eBay about a month ago that cost a pretty penny but they maybe had 5 rounds on them. So far they are amazing to play. The sound and feel are shockingly good. As a picker I'm finding the low CG helps.  G25s are  the embodiment of Ping. 

 

With that said my JPX 921 HM/HMPs will remain my gamer irons. They just check all the boxes. The g25s will be in the bag at times and will be the perfect clubs to keep for family and friends.  Would love to see a modern refresh of the g25s without the ferrule of course.

I just scrub the face and sole. IMO, there's too much going on in the cavity to submerge.

One of these works well.  The bristles are soft and long, so they can reach into the nooks and crannies in the cavity.  It's good to minimize wet time for the rear badge and CTP, but it won't hurt to clean every so often.

Okay, so, I bought a set of G25's a week ago, but something was nagging at me because the listing was for graphite shafts, and a couple of the photos, which were horrid, showed glimpses of steel.  So I messaged the guy Monday morning asking for clarification, and it took him until yesterday to get back to me.  He said, "woops!  My bad.  Do you still want the clubs?"  I responded, "maybe, how about a discount."  And that's the last communication there has been.  😬

So you have “bought” them? Paid in full? Where did you get them?

Bought on ebay, using paypal.  I'm not worried about getting my money back if it comes to that.  Some decent communication from the guy that misrepresented the clubs would be nice, though.

ARG!  I asked for a refund on my G25 set purchase. The eBay seller was not inspiring confidence, so cut my losses.  Now I'm back in the market for a set.

Between rounds, eh?  I do a scrub with Barkeeper's Friend during the winter - between rounds, I just rub 'em off with a damp towel.

Crash and burn, again!  Dude with the clubs canceled the sale because he didn't get the price he wanted.  I know this because I made him an offer on these clubs before the auction ended, and the price he wanted was quite a bit more than the winning bid.  There are a LOT of crap sellers on eBay.

Sorry to hear that Nessism. Sounds like you have been through the ringer on this one.

 

Ebay is not what it used to be. With all the fees, taxes and high shipping prices it just doesn't pay to sell or buy anymore. Be patient and something will turn up eventually.

That sucks!! That happened to me on a set one time. He should be banned from selling.

Agreed, and it seems to be infested with clowns that will offer you like $40 for a latest-gen driver with Ventus shaft.

 

Cant even shake them off by setting a minimum offer or turning off offers; then they simply PM you.

Found I was playing ok with my G710, but it was like my bad days were better but my good days weren’t as good.   Had a few shots that went to far, that kind of flyer doesn’t happen with the iE1.  I was on the green but I seem closer with the i’s

 

Found a deal on a brand new set of ie1 and pulled the trigger.  

 

I’ve had the ie1 before and played some fine shots.  Back again and after a brief (month or so) period my good rounds are better and my bad ones are still bad but close to the G710

 

Gotta say I prefer have those better rounds be the factor rather than a better bad.   

 

So I’m a GI guy.  Not as welcome here as before I suppose.

Just picked up a set of g425 it’s good to be back. Went titleist for a year then tried the whole cobra “one length” thing. Couldn’t hit either setup great, played a round with my old g30’s ( sold the set to my nephew) hit the lights out of them. The next day I ordered the whole bag ping again (except putter, always preferred odyssey).

So I’ve just received my set of Ping G Series irons and the cavity weight is missing from 5 of the 6 irons.

 

How can I get them replaced?

 

What do Ping charge? I’m in the uk.
