I doubt it would take that long but can't guarantee anything of course. A LOT of companies are hurting right now and will jump through hoops to make a sale, despite what the banner on the front door may say.

I had read on WRX that Ping was closed till May 1st. Maybe that was the reason for the long turn around times. I would think once they work through the back log and get back to full strength the turn around times will drop.

Why do we let insignificant things like looks influence us. Have a set of p790 and g410s. Find myself primarily playing p790s when I know I would be best served with the g410s. The g410s don't have the best shaft fit for me. Extensive testing shows project x lz performs best for me. Need to get the g410s reshafted or trade for a ping built set. Decisions decisions.

Just ordered G400 6 - pw with recoil shafts. Can't wait for them to arrive. I'll match them up with new 2.0 stealth wedges I've had in the closet. First set of new irons I've bought in several years.

(Active brag) Had an ace today on a 186 yard par three!  Cranked a 6 iron which landed about 6 feet short of the hole and took one bounce forward then dove into the cup!  What struck me about the shot is that it was a toe strike yet the shot flew pretty much dead straight.  Ping G club to the rescue!  No way that would have happened using some small pocket iron!  I still love my G's as much now as the day I got them!😍

Nessism, huge fan buddy. LOL, have read all your post, have learned a lot from you.

That post about your ace made me cheer. That is so freakin awesome. Ace at 186 with 6 iron amazing. Every time I pull that club on a par three I'm going to think of you. I'm still trying to get my first.

Congrats.

G410 irons in the bag here. I came from g25 irons. I still put my k15 hybrid and 3 wood in the bag from time to time.

Very likely going to wind up with either  g425 or g410 woods and hybrids before the year is out (pending availability).

I am still gaming the g25 irons.  How has the transition been to the g410 irons?  What are the big differences?  It is getting time to think about new irons and g410 or g425 irons are what I am considering.

This season, my bag is quickly getting filled up with G425 clubs.  My G425 irons came in last week after a 7 week wait time. I really really like these irons.  The G410's and 700's couldn't beat out my AP1's but the G425 were and are very good for me so far.  Also upgraded my G410 driver and hybrid with the G425 max.  Haven't found much difference in my G410 5 wood against the G425 so I didn't make that change.

Well people call me BIG-J and I play Mizuno… Ehh, close enough! Haha

By your own admission, it sounds like it was the club more than you. Sorry, doesn’t count! 😂

JK! CONGRATS 🎉👏🏼

btw. My son plays G710 and he’ll hit a really good approach into the green and I’ll say “great shot” and he’ll tell me that he totally missed the center of the face. Crazy forgiving.

I played the G25's and loved them.  All the G's are awesome but the 25's hold a special place in the heart of many of the faithful!  They are sort of a bridge between the old skool Ping's and the more modern ferrule jobbies.  The face is thicker than the more modern G's and the lofts are weaker.  They feel more solid because the face is thicker.  They sound more solid too.  Downside is the newer clubs win the "look behind the ball" contest, assuming you like a less garden farming implement look...which is totally cool in it's own right but isn't for everyone.

BTW, if someone told me I had to play G25's until the day I died I'd be okay with that.  They are great clubs.

  • 4 weeks later...

Sold my 410's in early December and bought some Mizuno Hot Metals.  No good reason, just looking for that new club smell.  Two months in now, and wound up buying a set of 425's off a member here last night.  Can't wait to get them.  There is just something about the G's that keep pulling me back in.  I've got the Recoils from the 410's and will most likely slam them in when the clubs arrive.  If everything goes as planned I'll be posting a review next weekend!  😍

I'll eagerly await your review on these.  I've bounced between i's and G's the past 10 years and currently have the 425s in the bag, but only 18 holes under my belt with them.  No denying their forgiveness (especially toe hits), but the higher ball flight and feel (vs. the i's) will be the biggest readjustments.
