PING G30 Sole Weights (With Pics)

Recently ordered 5 sets of weights from Billy Bob's for my shop, and for myself to SW my driver and FWY where I need it to be. These fit seamlessly, and actually look a little stealthier then the stock weights. Pics below. They fit perfectly, and are top notch. I have not weighed them, and will hopefully do so today at some point.

No heat gun needed. The PING wrench takes the weight out fine. Just unscrew it.

Some people need a shorter driver, and more weight in the head. These allow a golfer to add 10g or so to the head in the least invasive and costly method...

I am finding it difficult to use these to adjust my swing weight. I shortened my driver 1.25 inches so I needed to add 12-16 grams to the head. Problem is that the stock OEM weight weighs 10-12 grams, so I would need a 20-24 gram aftermarket weight. Can't find anything more than a 16.

Redneck question...can you double up the weights on one screw?

I think it might depend on the club.

I took the weight out of my G30 driver, put it on the scale, and it came in at just over 6 grams. This was the weight only, not the screw.

I did the same thing last night.. the stock weight alone was 4 grams and the screw was 2 grams on mine. I have three different shafts that I will be trying out in my G30 and will need to add some weight to get it to D4 or D5 (they currently are at C9, D2.5, and D1). My swing weight scale has that small dish / pan hanging from it so I can put required weight onto it until I get the D4/D5 weight and then know what weight(s) I will need. Like others said, removing the weight screw is easy to do.

I suppose one could also buy some washers of different thickness' to mess with as well..can save some money there.. or just use lead tape

That's not at all ridiculous. Its cheaper than pulling a shaft, adding tip weight, or adding hotmelt. Its also not permanent.

With the calculations available in the pinned threads, you can get pretty close with an estimate.

Have any of you guys had any trouble with the after market weights? I finally caved in on getting a G30 and it looks like I'll need some extra weight and will order some from either golfworks or billybobs. Not sure if there is any difference between them but I'm curious to see if anyone found one better than the other.

Other than swing weight, what benefit would a heavier weight give a G30 LS Tec?

so just to recap removing the weight, its literally a simple as putting the PING wrench in the weight and turning that mother out?
not like trying to remove Scotty weights out of a putter, which can sometimes be a MAJOR pain
I ordered an LST, but after further testing, only need the regular G30, but ordered it at 44.75, so I want the heavier weight in the G30

How to make a G30 tour style:


Take the weight out and add 6-8g hotmelt to the face toward the toe. Drop a 6g weight back in the port and enjoy.
