XR is a great driver and my clear favorite from "last" years line up. I'm also hearing some rumblings about the next X series and it sounds awesome. The reason it left the bag was because I wanted to go up in loft so I could play a more neutral face and ended up trying a G30 in the process. Just never got around to grabbing the other head as the G30 snuck in the bag I am tempted to grab another though haha but i'm just gonna wait until the winter

G30 is a great driver. Adding weight to the toe helped me and a few other guys who I know make it less left. If you actually look at Pings website you can see a lot of pro's add it as well. Also no need to drill a hole the weight in the back can be taken out providing access.

I did have a 10.5 XR but it wasn't mine it was a demo from my proshop which I couldn't hotmelt (obviously it wasn't mine). In that time I messed with the G30 and fell in love. It's been in the bag ever since.

Well I want to find a good 3 wood. My last favorite was the 913fd with the speeder TS 8.2x. It was great off the tee and really good off the turf. Perfect club that could do both. I tried to duplicate it but clones lose their magic... I am kinda looking at callaway or TM. So maybe the 816 v the M1, I'd like to have it adjustable. It's kind of a pain because it's going to take some work....for example. The change in lie angle when adjusting Loft in TM..
If I liked playing at minus 2 Loft lie angle (17 turned down to 15) vs a 15 lie at standard. Anyways I know you have hit a lot of 3 woods, what has been your favorite for tee and fairway?

If you liked the 913FD have you checked out the 915Fd? I think that's a pretty good stick there although doesn't have as much adjustability as the 816 Alpha. I haven't hit the M1 fwy wood yet but i'm sure it's a performer. For me the 816 gives me the numbers that I look for from a 3 wood. I want 250 from the deck (carry) and 260ish (Carry) off the tee. I also like that I can adjust it down to 13* and move the 16g weight to the front and carry it 275 off the tee if I need to.

So I have to say as of now i think the 816 3 wood is a great stick and with the level of adjustability you can fit pretty much any player. Although with the heavy weight in the back it's the highest MOI fwy wood in the Cally lineup. That's pretty impressive

Okay so recently I did a full bag fitting through Club Champion and I'm making some changes to my bag.

1st - Irons are great but I need to extend them 1/2" to increase consistency.
2 - G30 is a good driver for me but M1 is AWESOME for me.
3 - Shafts - Agera tested great as did the ACCRA FX 360 for me.
4 - Bettinardi BB43 on the way due to my SAM putting lab fitting. VERY eye opening
5 - Nippon Modus3 125 Wedge shafts on the way, WV's did great but the new Modus3 125 wedge shaft gave me better spin numbers
6- Cally 816 with KK Black Tini is wonderful and don't need to change a thing other then add a little more weight to the head, easy fix.
7 - Need more bounce on my wedges so probably going to bend them 1-2* weak to accomodate that for now.


Overall it was a great experience and is already making a difference in my game. Played a big $$$$ tourney today at my club and the changes i've made really worked out. All of the above isn't done yet as I just got it done monday but the ones I have really paid off.

VERY productive. I had to give 3 strokes back to the field today as the event had gross and net. Adding strokes is NEVER fun golf is hard enough. Played well though shot -2 (gross). Had 5 birds a few eagle putts.

9.5 can be cranked to 7.5 so your fine. I tend to like a square face but when i opening mine up and slid the weight in the heal it played perfect for me. I love the adjustabilty in this head. Gives you a LOT of room to play.

J - Glad to hear the CC fitting was a success. I know I enjoyed mine quite a bit and learned about quite a few things too. Sometimes we know what's best, other times....it's surprising to say the least. I know you've rolled a few different flat sticks this year, so hopefully the Betti will stay in the bag for a long time, relatively speaking of course

@Hayzoos - Yeah I remember your fitting that put you in the AP2's. Have to say it's always great to get the numbers and choose based on accurate info instead of just guessing.

Swan - What put the M1 over the top was the total distance gains with forgivness.

Joebob - Went with the 460 because spin was literally the same for me as the 430 yet I get more forgivness. Kind of a no brainer for me. And glad you like the bag it's a work in progress as I button it up with the fitters suggestions. Come next weekend it should be all done and I'll get some pics up.

New flat stick arrived. Been actually putting well with my Odyssey #7 after making changes in my putting based on my SAM lab experience. Pretty much changed my entire putting setup and stroke and big difference so far. In any case whether it's the Bettinardi or Odyssey that wins i'm feeling more confident on the greens and that is worth it's weight in gold for me.

What kind of changes did you make, just curious?

@KingKong - M1 is really performing well for me. It also gave me some of the best numbers in my fitting. I'm really happy they made improvements in the MOI of the head. SLDR spin with moderate forgiveness.

@Hayzoos - That's top secret




Seriously based on my numbers the fitter got me closer to the ball, putter more in the middle of my stance, and slightly higher hand position. He also has my shoulders working a bit differently to create more of a SBST stroke. Everything he changed was based on my numbers and after making the changes it felt awkward but my numbers improve quite a bit. Again, numbers don't lie.

Appreciate the thought brotha. This will be my first true center shafted putter. Looks very cool and from the top it has an anser style profile which i like. When i tested out on the SAM i did best with no offset putters so I hope it translates. Tomorrow going to head to my club for some practice and 9 so we shall see.

Yes sir, Buddha fit me and did a great job. He fit a few others i know as well and all are happy. HIghly recommend him if your in the Washington D.C. area

Played 9 today and practice some with a new recruit from Arizona that's checking out the local D1 program that plays at my club. I play a lot with guys on the team as it keeps me sharp Anyway the Bettinardi performered well for it's first round out. I rolled the ball well and hit most of my lines which is a great start. I'm very optimistic that this putter will make the bag.

Right now is the best time of year to play at my club. All bent grass that gets firm and fast in the fall. Also the tree's are turning for fall and our clubhouse sits on top of a hill that overlooks the course. Nothing better then sitting by the fire smoking a cigar and sipping on a vodka tonic. With that said I just have to share this as the view is amazing.
