Comparison to what? I obviously think they're great and was fit into them first by Nippon themselves then by Club Champion.

Played in a few tourney recently and today I decided to use the M1 driver instead of the M2. Drove the ball ok but after playing the hotmelted M2 for a while now I can't imagine playing the M1. Sound and feel is so harsh compared to the m2 and misses definitely weren't as good. With that said I can't wait to try the new stuff coming out like the M2 and Epic. I know I'm leaving yards on the table :D Also once the heads are in shops I'm probably going to do a full bag fitting at Club Champion on trackman. When that happens I'll post results ect..

Stopped at the golf shop for some Black Friday shopping and one of the sales people (I'm in all the time so we all know each other) said you've got to hit the new Wilson Triton. I had no intention on trying it out but he had the club all setup with the 125X in so what the heck. He said they had already hit it and share the same opinion but he wants me to hit it first before sharing it Short and sweet

 

 

Looks - CHEAP, 20* closes, and super flat (like 50* lie angle flat)

Sound - trash can

Feel - hollow trash can

Distance - average, blah

Spin - Mid to High

Dispersion - terrible (hook central)

Crown cosmetic - Silverish crown stripe didn't bother me but prefer it not to be there

 

Overall I hit about 8-10 shots with this driver then grabbed a demo M2 9.5 and on the first shot I piped one 16yds longer and straightener then the Tritons longest ball. Test over. I look at the sales person and said this thing looks like a Kmart club and there's nothing I like about it and he started laughing. He said they will never move them unless the price gets to around $200 especially since they keep getting Nike stock sent in to dump on the market for $149.

If it was better in every way I might have :o In all seriousness if I'm going to comment on a clubs performance I ALWAYS hit it first otherwise I have no right to praise it or bash it. It wasn't an in depth test but enough to know its a bad driver and def not Wilson's best which isn't saying much. I'll be completely shocked if Wilson staffers play this for any considerable amount of time.

Saw this at a driving range today, had to go and have a look. Sales guy told me that all the innovations made this the sleeper driver of the new year. I told him that all reports say it's crap. He laughed. He knew.

Yeah after I hit about 10-12 shots the sales people were cracking up. The sound was like a hollow trash can and could be heard all throughout the store.

 

 

Grenade vs Triton is a good call. I'd actually give the edge to the Triton simply because it had a MUCH better stock shaft. Grenade is a whole other level bad.

Haha speaking of the Ksigs how are they? I might try them out for a winter ball and see how it goes. Price is great and it will save me some time of searching through the leaves everywhere which can add quite a bit of time to a round.

Not sure why but I've never liked either of those, feel hard and most everything I test is shorter off the tee than V1x. Definitely a weird name.

I hit the triton yesterday and actually thought it was pretty solid. It looks awful but the results my buddy and i were getting were no joke. Our local golf mart had a demo 125 msi 60 tx.

 

My buddy(good player with very consistent move) was crushing it with numbers that were straight silly, and way more consistent than anything he's hit. Highest BS was 175, carry was 315 rolling to 343. Each shot had same flight and spin within ~350rpms of each other. He tried his "fit" m2 with kiyoshi black and quickly realized it was not as "fit" as he had thought...the m2 literally didnt hold a candle to what we saw with the triton. I should've taken a pic of the screen because the disperion and consistency matched with insane numbers was unlike anything i've seen.

It's going to sound funny saying this but it's a surprisingly good ball. Not as durable as the Nike RZN Platinum, similar spin around the greens. I would say the Pro V1x spins slightly more around the greens, but I have no problem checking them. I was reading these were made in the plant where TM balls are made. Probably an older 4 piece design that was bought. They flight well. High and low. I would play these as my casual round of golf ball or winter ball and then switch them out for tournament play. I definitely will be buying more. I can send you a sleeve if you want. Just PM me.

@grumpy- use what works but it was a disaster for me and couldn't sniff the m2
