Small Update:

Tried my last shaft of the season which was a Tensei Orange Version 2. Very smooth and very counter balanced which makes for high ball speeds. Overall it's a shaft for a smoother swing same as a Tour AD Di which doesn't fit me. I found it extremely hard to find the center of the face even after adding lead tape to get my swing weight back. Anyway I have an aggressive transition so anything like this just doesn't work for me. I'll be interested to see how this is received on tour if at all. Could be a killer shaft in the right bag.

So Agera is still king for me. No matter what I test nothing gives me the dispersion and or strike pattern like that shaft does.

Now I said I tried my last shaft of the season but I have one more toy coming :D i'll drop a pic as soon as it gets here.

A few of you have convinced me to try this shaft. I have several veylix shafts and like them. How is this shaft any different than the Rome which is also a 5 weave 40T carbon shaft?

Stiffer tip section, lower torque, and heavier (74-75g) compared to Rome 688 which is in 60g range. So Agera is extremely low spin, mid launch, tight dispersion. I would recommend you reach out to Xphlexxx and ask them as they could be more specific.

THE CHAMP IS HERE

Okay straight from the Tour Van is the new Hotmelt setup, Champ 3. Legit as it gets and a nice addition to my workshop. You won't find a tour van without one of these :D. These aren't cheap so I'm going to be opening my services up to the local D1 college programs and also local golf shops as they use rat glue lol and can't provide a legit service. Check it out, also a pic of a 3 wood I already did for a player, M2 3 wood that I drilled, melted and plugged. If anyone has questions feel free to ask.

I see you have the tensei white in your 3w. Have you tried the 70tx in your driver? How does it compare the the Agera? On paper they seem very similar aside from the Boron.

If you like hollow cast clubs, which I unfortunately, do not. I like a solid forging and will tolerate grinding a tip weight to +-0.25g to get the proper swingweight.

I had the 60TX Tensei White in the driver and it was a no go for me although I liked the feel a lot. The 70TX would be a better fit but kinda tired of tinkering and it's getting expensive. Agera just does everything I want it to and after trying various shafts I just don't see anything beating it right now.

@stage - I don't like hollow irons unless maybe a driving iron.

Judging from your bag setup there NO WAY a 60 gram anything would be of any use to you. We see this all the time in the modern heads combined with the modern era more powerful golfer. Unless you have the smoothest swing in the universe, most guys that truly have power will put excessive force thru the body of the shaft and cause serious deflection and torque overload.

In other words, Your power levels are YUGE

Your really think 10-15 grams is going to make that big of a difference? For me.... as long as they SW the same I have a hard time feeling 10/15 grams in a driver.

i need the static weight and swing weight..the 10-15 makes the difference (for my swing).

Agree Swanry. Scratch I notice whenever I try a 60g shaft my dispersion suffers when the pressures on. My swing gets short and quick which brings in the left side. I would also say it depends on the playing length of the driver especially for anyone playing shorter then 45"

Yeah even though I know 70 and 80g shafts are my sweetspot I get lured in by at least 1 or 2 60g shafts a year in the chase for distance. Ultimately it goes south because my rhythm gets all out of whack. Your such a wise parrot.

Just curious, but why does the shorter driver bring in the left side of the FW? Does it just make the tempo quicker and thus make you turn it over? I'm only asking because I'm thinking of going shorter than 45" on my driver for the 1st time.

Correct. My swing gets a little shorter and quicker and it helps having a heavier club and for me 10-15gs makes a difference. Everyones swing and "feels" are different and for me anything lighter then 74-75g just doesn't seem to stick long.

Playing update

Played the other day and fired a -4 (68) in a money game. Putting was extremely good with my newish putter that I've been using. Being that I love the moi of my odyssey 7 but line up my odyssey 2 better I grabbed an Odyssey 1w cruiser in hopes of getting the best of both worlds. I also like that I can take the head weight down to 345g and make it a standard putter if I choose (which I did). Anyway I've tried it both ways and I prefer the slight counter balance so I reinstalled the other shaft. Btw for anyone who cares I stopped ripping grips and instead I build up multiple shafts with different grips so if I want to swap grips I just pull the shaft and install another already gripped up. It's saved me time and money and so glad I started doing it.

Nice round.

I have always wanted to try that putter, and almost got one from the CPO deal, but decided to try the Marxman Tank.

Did you get the WHP, or the Works Cruiser?

? for ya, do Srixon irons play more upright standard than Mizuno?

Thanks.

WHP, I'm just so used to it. Srixon 745's I was fit for so I'm not sure what the standard is between the two. I doubt it's much different. I play 3/4" over standard and don't mess with the lie as lengthening usually takes care of making them more upright for me.
