I really like the Snell ball. I equally like the maxfli ball. I would rather support Snell but That said I would play whichever ball was a better deal. I could interchange the ball and be just fine

Love the MTB. Yellow.

When I can order 5-6 dozen at a time again. I’ll play em forever. Until then it’s maxfli tour. With coupons and scorecard points etc.. no better deal in the whole wide world. Both great balls.

You can buy standard and "high numbers" or any variation of the ball you want. At least that was true the last time I ordered and they honored the quantity discount. That being said, I'm trying the Maxfli Tour and I had previously played the MTB-X just because I got a deal on it and I'm just trying something new. That and I'm not a good enough golfer to be out of the "ballpark fit" of a ball. When I can go a round without losing 6-12 balls I'll report back...

Or Maxfli Tour, Pretty much same exact ball as the Vice Pro but cheaper.

I absolutely love the Maxfli Tour but the alignment aid is gaudy and off putting for me. I know it may be no big deal for some but it’s a deal breaker for me. In fact, it’s the only reason I went with the Vice Pro.

I agree. I use a single black line to mark my ball for putting and it doesn’t look right to me with the two Maxfli alignment lines. Otherwise, it seems like a good ball, but I’d rather play Snell or another ball where I don’t have to worry about that.

Just put a single line on the other side, and when you sit the ball down put the big double line side down. Then all you see is your single line. I don't use alignment lines so I just sit the ball down where those lines are down. Then I see nothing but ball

In the past I purchased the MTB-X but my last purchase I went with the MTB Black.  I like the MTB-X better.  For me it was longer and straighter.

I have approximately 1.5 doz left of 3 doz.of the MTB-X yellow that were personalized and gifted to me for a birthday gift.  I really like the TP5 but I just can't justify paying $45-$50 a dozen for golf balls.  My driver SS is around 95 more or less and find the MTB-X a little clicky which really doesn't bother me and I would say they are an EXCELLENT ball and would definitely be playing the MTB for feel.  But, again, being a single income household and putting 4 kids through college and grad school, everything about golf is cost sensitive for me.  I've played the Kirkland Ksig V 2.0 ALOT and find it to be a really good ball.  Yes, it falls short of the Snell quality, etc.  With coupons and such I picked up the 4 doz. Maxfli Tour pack for $75.  That's $18.75/doz. before the State's Vig.  and they are FANTASTIC balls regardless of what anyone feels about DSG or GG and actually prefer them over the ProV-1.  I fall into same boat as the vast majority of golfers out there where, financially, I can't afford a country club (cheapest in my area is $15K-$20K initial fee and $15K/year).  Unlike a lot of places it's expensive to play golf in NY.  The average Saturday or Sunday round is $75-$100 for public courses.  Weekday you can get a better deal at about $55-$70.  I am very happy for you (no one in particular) if you can afford to play the more expensive ball, etc. but for people like me, every penny is watched regarding what I spend on golf.

When the bulk discount comes back, and eventually it will I'm sure, I will purchase the MTB.  But I will also continue to the play the Maxfli Tour and Ksig for as long as they remain the quality solid performers they are.

I would love to see a softer version of the MTB Black

Take a look at the Vice Pro Soft.

I am trying them out this year as a softer version of the Maxfli Tour and they are a great ball, with a softer feel off the putter. Trouble is they are still a few $'s/dozen higher priced than the  Tour. So if best performance at lowest cost is your goal, there is still a small premium to pay for the softer feel.

I wish the MTB-X had a little more greenside spin. Not sure what the tradeoff would be though

Most effective way to achieve that would be to soften the cover which would likely result in a decrease in durability, slight increase in spin across the board, and slight decrease in ball speed off the tee (assuming the rest of the ball remains the same, although other tweaks could be made to mitigate some of this).

Has @Snell Golf offered any comment on when they estimate they'll be able to offer the 5x deal again?

When production and supply chain gets back to normal. Said it in a handful of posts and videos when he had to change to the 2 box limit. I don't think it's back, yet.

Called Snell today trying to find a little bit more out but, it seems that, at least for this year, Snell won't be off the accumulation requirement that they set for themselves. That's a shame but, it is what it is.

we should all tell young kids to curve their rubber usage so that their practices ease golf ball rubber shortage.
