Tempted by Dechambeau again this week at 28/1, and also by 60/1 on Daniel Summerhays, who seems to like this course based on event history ... (plus he had a couple of decent rounds last week :) )

PGA Tour did a pretty good course/player history on the Texas Open. I like Dechambeau as well. Seems like he has to break through at some point.

Dechambeau is a good bet. He was solid for the Masters and solid last week. I also like Billy Horschel, not showing much lately but had a 66 in the 2nd round last week and he just love this course. Also, I'll put some money on C Hoffman, he will get 4 rounds together sooner or later. Branden Grace is one of those guys who can win back to back, so not leaving him out. Couldn't find any real outsider this week.

Is there a reason you veterans only bet on winners? This thread gave me the bug to put a few bucks down on Bovada but I feel like I have a better chance shooting for top 5s/10s. Is that a bad strategy?

I'll stick to DK this week because I didn't really feel any of the people. I did throw 30 on lickliter at 500-1 just because it felt weird to not have anything on this. Also I think his odds to win are better than 500-1.

 

Bovada would not let me put more than 30. I tried 50 but they blocked it.

Does anyone like any sleepers this week? It's traditionally a good first time winners course. Long hitters fair pretty well. From what I read and from past winners, putting is not a major factor. Hard to pass on the odds with locals like Loupe, Toms, and Kaufman.

 

Horschel and Berger look really good as well.

I agree with most of your post. And that's what makes it so hard this week. I think we could have a first time winner. Also, Horschel and Berger is definitly on my radar. However, guys like Day or Rose could go on and win this with 5-6 shots. Here are my bets for this week.

The Players! The winner at Sawgrass is usually a multiple winner on tour. Best odds this week is on Cabrera Bello (141x), he's a guy that can be hot/cold and when he is on he's really deadly. An other player I like is Lingmerth (T2 here in 2013). I also like former winners of this tournament that usually do good.
