if you turn 13 bucks into 19k I expect drinks

Definitely - are you going to Monte's NJ clinic?

Is the parlay for lovemark and chappel to finish 1-2? Does the order matter?

Where are you placing your bets? are you in the states?

Thanks!

Lovemark is in the Euro BMW Championship

Chappel is in the Dean and Deluca

Both have to win.

Bovada - Good luck!

Feels likte Spieth isn't there yet, but it feels like Kuchar is really close and that A Scott is closer to his winning form again. Two bigger bets and an outside bet on Finau who was T12 last week and looked pretty good in a harder field than this weeks field.

Dean & DeLuca

Adam Scott 13x $200

Matt Kuchar 13x $200

Tony Finau 51x $70

Total: $470

Funds: $10 390

Last week was one of my worst predictions. I think I'll do better this week! I put my money on Alex Noren in the Nordic Masters. It's played on his home course and he is finally finding form after injuries (also former winner). Stenson is the favourite, but his last two tournaments has been some of his worst in a very long time. I'll probably add some live bet on the Memorial tournament.

Nordic masters

Alex Noren 17 x $300

Funds: $10 090

Which clinic is that ?

It is a 3 day clinic that turns mid to high handicaps into money making machines until their handicaps come down to match their new-found skill level.

i love your degeneracy level. Betting on the euro tour is beautiful because you either are going to watch the late telecast on GC or even more degenerately refresh the euro tour app every 30 seconds on your phone.

Good luck!

  • 2 weeks later...

US Open week! Time to get excited. I didn't put any money last week. Just didn't have any feel for it, but Berger was no surprise really. Anyway, lets focus on this week! There are many in form players, and a bunch of guys who are just waiting for the big breakthrough.

Here is my analysis for Oakmont. Danny Willett is a steal at 41x. People think his Masters win was some kind of fluke, but just look at his play and the results he has made over the last couple of months. Jason Day at 8x is just in the range of being worth a bet. It's a good field, but yeah I think with that kind of form he should be around 6-8x to win it. I think there is better value for my money however. Spieth @ 10x isn't one of them. After his last win he probably has the form, but I just can't see how Oakmont is a fit for him (did I just jinx myself?). Putting will be important, but finding fairway even more so. Henrik Stenson is probably the best ballstriker in the world and I always belive he should be in contention for the US Open. This week probably not so much. He didn't miss the cut for two years on the PGA-tour and than he miss it two tournaments in a row. His last tournament was one of the smaller on the European tour (Nordic Masters) and Stenson finnished T4. He didn't look great, but his final round (lowest of the day, and probably best of any round) showed he's perhaps getting there. At 36x (reflects his poor display of late) you really need to put money on him. South Africans always do good at the super hard US Open courses. Schwarzel and Oosthuizen hasn't showed much form lately so I'll go with Branden Grace @ 56x, who also isn't afraid of winning tournaments. Kuchar is my final bet. Not the longest from the tee, and that is an disadvantage on a course like this. But with his ballstriking and if his putter is on he could make up for it. he has showed some promising play lately. Depending on how the tournament developes I might make a live bet or two.

US Open

Danny Willett 41x $250

Branden Grace 56x $150

Henrik Stenson 36x $150

Matt Kuchar 41x $100

Total: $650

Funds: $9440

I like your US Open bets Shankie ... here are mine:

Matt Fitzpatrick £10 E/W - 66/1

Chris Wood £10 E/W - 125/1

Miguel Tabuena £10 E/W - 1000/1

I always fancy Justin Rose in a US Open, but he has too short odds for the return I would like from the stake I am prepared to put down :)

Shankie, I said it before (one day before the Open if you go back to the older part of the thread) and I'll say it again, drop $1250 on ZJ... 100k win!

My bets:

Zach Johnson $190 @ 80-1

Phil Mickelson $108 @ 28-1

Dustin Johnson $142 @ 14-1

Reteif Goosen $50 @ 200-1

GG, I hope they all do better than they did in 2007 at Oakmont !!!

Zach played all 4 rounds - 76,74,76,74 = 300.

PM and Goose missed the cut :)

Data is too old to be relevant. With the exception of Retief the other two have really evolved their game. Plus ZJ was coming off a Masters win which will alter your preparation and mentality going into a Major. If they lose I go to strickly DK for the rest of the year

Granted 9 years ago, but "horses for courses" and all that jazz :)

Bubba was up there T5 in 2007, and of the current Top 10, he seems the best value odds to me with 40/1 available.

Goosen could do well I think .. he seems to have been on TV a fair bit in the last couple of weeks so he must be bang in form !

I think DJ is your best chance though.

Course history is only one factor. I think the biggest factor is recent form or if they are "peaking". I have ZJ, Garcia, Furyk and a few others. Plus some for First round leaders. The rain will screw everything up for the first two days by bringing more players into the hunt.
