I have gotten some stuff this year. Goodwills seem to be in a bit of a drought. I have dumpster dove a few times this year and got some okay stuff. The main place I DD at is pretty far for me so I just rarely get out that way anymore. I won't post the stuff I DD for. Couple recent sets I did just get out of Goodwills here:

$4.99 a piece on the X22 Tours (4 thru 9) was a nice deal.

Love the PTMs. I've got a set I don't mind beating into the ground and a nearly NOS set in the closet. They're great to hit with - as long as you're having a good ballstriking day.

Nice find and I think sought after enough to make some easy FB or CL money. Never hit these X22 tours but they’ve always fit my eye and called to me so to speak. Find a PW for cheap and you got a money maker.

Up near the top of our code is no 1 iron left behind right? Look at this monstrosity for $3.49. Precision Rifle 6.5 shaft, monster size grip and is 43 inches long!!! 0 iron I might have something for you. At first was guessing it was for a giant of a person but check out how flat it is bent compared to a Mac VIP CB92 1 iron. Guessing maybe somebody’s attempt at a super driving iron 15 years or so ago in the club component building days?? Probably a pos but cannot wait to try it.

Just did a wee search for info....there is an old posting on this site in "Equipment"...otherwise, a number of good reviews. I have a Golfsmith 1 iron that is one scary thin blade...it's in storage w/a number of other 1 irons. I'll try to get a pic of it to put up here.

Tour Cavity Forged was a premium product around the late 90s or early 2000s.  Lot of folks used them with great effect.

It was the forged companion to the Professional Grind blades, which were played by Scott Verplank on Tour, and the cast Tour Cavity irons that were played by Bruce Lietzke.

I have a 2i in the Tour Cavity Forged that I've not yet gotten around to reshafting.

Took a chance and won these on my local Goodwill auction site. Pickup location is about 20 miles from my home so no shipping needed. Paid $21.60 after handling fee and tax. They were mixed in a Powerbilt stand carry bag and some sort of modern starter set I should be able to sell for the price I paid I’m hoping. Maybe make a couple bucks.

Are WH persimmons very common? Not a lot of knowledge on my end but didn’t Wilson transition to laminated in early 50’s? Kinda plain looking with the solid stain but maybe was a lot richer looking when new with the burgundy ish color and lighter colored face insert. Driver insert is lifted a little and notice a a small crack starting by shaft screw on 4 wood. Leather grips should be fine. The grips are a different color but they are the same pattern and end cap as my 53 WH Ultra irons. Shafts not perfect but not too bad of condition and have that tiny black True Temper T flex label.

We don't see too many Hagen woods of any kind on here let alone persimmons so in that regard these are pretty nifty.

It would appear that something funky is going on with that driver though.  The scored lines on the face are all over the place and the insert seems thin.  Steel screws are a bit odd too.  It looks to me like someone maybe tried to re-profile the face at one time and did a bit of a hack job.  Hagen clubs were known for their high quality so this doesn't really jive as original.

Yeah driver face plate is not sitting right for sure. Swollen or whatever, my only experience with a swollen club has been a Hogan and the sole plate took the brunt of it. Sole plate seems fine on this. Couple face screws are rounded out so someone’s been tightening on it.

They're totally fixable though and would be really cool to see in playable condition.  I'll bet they were real beauties in their day.  Excellent score I'd say!

Got the whole setup bag and all for $15.99. Felt gracious enough i just rounded the purchase up to $20 for the thrift charity. Spalding’ Executive 2-S irons and some type of Spalding composite woods. All with medium shafts and useable grips but 2 different styles of grip, Chamoise and Tour Wraps. 2 iron must be a newer model. If anyone is interested in the clubs PM me and I’ll pass em on. You pay for shipping plus $10. Not needing any more clubs I’m just excited to flip  the relatively new Sun Mountain C130 bag locally and make some club refinishing cash.

These clubs are investment cast stainless steel irons, made 1977 thru 1988. Kinda long time to be made if they were so horrible hitting. So, forget what they look like...regrip 'em,  go out and play 'em...decide for yourself

I believe those first generation Tour Wraps in blue were ladies grips. Are they a little smaller in diameter?

Good call, yes they appear to be thinner. Have been playing and practicing with old 50’s clubs for the last week and have gotten kinda used to the small leather grips and didn’t notice.

They were junk when they were new, they didn't improve with age.

Very cheap beginner's clubs.

Just wondering if you've ever played them....

they were not cheap (at that time), Wilson had the 1200 line in the ISS...Hogan had the Producers...H&B had a PowerBilt ISS...FoxBat ISS...even MacGregor had a number of models - all were in the Professional line & around the same time frame of mid '70s to late '80s.

My opinion may be biased by the incredible uglyness of the Executives.

I've heard that about a number of clubs - "Sooooo ugly, I wouldn't want them in my bag"...yet they are very playable. the vintage golfer on the yt, made similar comments & then went out on the range and was totally blown away by well they played.
For some reason, I've been intrigued by the Investment cast Stainless Steel clubs like the Executives, Procucers, FoxBat, VIP even made something along those lines...tho, I agree  of those 4 sets, the Executives are the ugliest.
Still, since so many consider them too ugly to hit, you can pick up a set or even orphan clubs to try quite cheaply...to make up your own mind.

I have yet to try them but was cleaning them up the other day and they are growing on me in an odd way. Little nostalgic cuz when I started golfing in 1985 these may have been the most popular clubs at the public course I was at. These have to be one of the higher selling clubs of all time. Will admit to not being a fan of the styling but curious on how well the perimeter weighting design works in this club. I don’t think there’s a ton of offset either like a Eye2. Never gonna compare the two but just saying. I wonder if there’s a forged bias going on here also just like persimmon over laminates?
I’ve recently learned that an old club doesn’t have to be forged to feel incredible.

1954 Synchro-Dyned’s, I rest my case.

I just built a set of Maltby TS1 IMs. So I won't be trying any vintage clubs anytime soon. But, thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's a bias for forged clubs...I know that Elder Pro believed that the only worthwhile clubs were forged carbon steel. And I gotta admit to a lingering bias towards laminates that is really quite unfounded, yet still at the back of my mind.

For obvious reasons the Executive irons worked best for "pickers". Same can be said for Hogan Magnums and other wide soled offerings. The low cg made these manageable for less accomplished players, thus their popularity. Sure they weren't pretty, but they did their job.

the Hogan Magnum came out ('86) within that same timeframe of the ISS Executive's...Hogan Magnum Plus' came out in '91. They were the first professional clubs I bought (in '92 or '93). I had no idea that they were stainless steel, I've enjoy playing them ever since. I most certainlly put myself in the "less accomplished player" slot 🤣

Clevland VAS 792 come to mind here.... very easy to hit despite the worst maltby rating in the history of man, and even more peculiar looks....i happen to own a set 3-LW...LOL20230815_180547.jpg.c774489e72b9d1b3dd62b82210c21451.jpg
